The noodles were super yummy. I got the hand made chewy noodles with the garlic shrimp sauce. I love garlic so it was perfect. I also got the party wings. The wings all and bold flavor and the meat wAs juicy and not dry. I would give it a second try and come back for more.

So, decided to finally decided to give this place a shot and was nicely surprised on how good it was. It’s definitely not a place I would frequent for the food, but the Mango Mojito is delicious! I ordered the Asian Beef but the meat was just really chewy though. The noodles were of nice texture, but I also feel that it’s just not hot enough. I’d come back and try something else though, but definitely get the Mango Mojito! :)

Dirty fries: you like perfectly friend bacon? Get these! I would come back bc the noodles were so good — handmade yo! The garlic shrimp was my fave — just added some spinach and mushroom! BUT be careful bc each topic costs extra!!! Only complaint but the food was on point so I’d come back if I’m ever in the area again.

Ordered pork belly kale noodles twice in a month, so I’ve been there twice already. The portions are inconsistent. The first time tasted good but service was lacking because they kept messing the order and sent out appetizers after when we were almost done with the noodles. We were OK with that because we thought it was just a one time thing and the waitress was apologetic. Second time was worse. We sat down and was ready to order but had to get up and chase the waiter and gave him our orders. Normally at Chinese restaurants, that type of service is typical but this place seems to try to be that Hipster vibe. But, you can tell management probably wasn’t treating the employees right since the cashiers looked sad and upset. Orders came out, my boyfriend ordered the same thing but mine looked completely different! Mine had so much sauce to the point where it looked soupy. I ordered dry noodles. We also ordered eggs with our dish but they forgot it. We confronted this grumpy server, he said we didn’t order with an egg. We eventually got our egg after telling them to check their order(this time waiter was not apologetic). The noodles and service left us regretful that we had to pay almost $ 20 for such inconsistent food and service.:(

I have had one horrible experience here and one average/good experience, so I guess it evens out to more like a 3. The food alone is probably even closer to a 3.5 or 4, especially the garlic shrimp noodles and the dirty fries. The noodles have the perfect texture! The first time I came here though, it was just a bad experience. It was the beginning of the lunch rush and we had a large group of about 8 people. We ordered to go because we had to get back to class. I think it was overwhelming to say the least, because it took 30 minutes for me to get my food, and it took others in my group even longer, like closer to 45!!! That is unacceptable. The funny thing is that almost all of us got the same thing– garlic noodles. Some people in my group were scarred and vowed never to return. However, because the noodles were just so tasty, and the dirty fries had the perfect amount of bacon and garlic aioli, I was curious to return, chalking it up to a fluke. DON’T DOTAKEOUTUNLESSYOUPHONEORDER. The second time, I ate in. I got the same thing, but noticed this time that now instead of having preset combos, you basically build your own bowl. They changed it up. It was good except my shrimp were not cleaned properly!!! That is a big no-no. The digestive tract was still there and though I tried to pick it out, some pieces were still gritty. GROSS!!! I also ordered a peach strawberry black tea and my bf ordered the lychee, strawberry mango tea and they were both good. So I recommend trying their drinks. Service was much better this time and it looked like there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant, so I give her props! TLDR; garlic noodles, dirty fries, make sure your shrimp are cleaned, phone order, get their teas. ENJOY

2nd(and last) visit went worse than the first. Service was still bad with both me and my gf’s dish coming out with no egg as ordered. We can can see and hear a lot of people from other tables getting their orders wrong too. But the really bad thing is that the food quality dropped, way different than the first visit. Pork belly was dry, flavor not as good and too salty. Noodle sauce was too salty as well. I thought their was egg shell in my noodle but then I realized it was chunks of peppercorn. Both me and the gf got noodles with garlic sauce. First time we came it meant the noodle had a light oil covering, with subtle garlic sauce over it. Basically a dry dish. This time my gf’s dish came out with a lot of liquid at the bottom. And I don’t know why its brown, I guess they changed the recipe and added peppercorns/soy sauce to the garlic noodles, before the color was just clear oil. Went from delicious to kinda gross.

This is a peer-reviewed manuscript. Previously, we had eaten here several times and thoroughly enjoyed it. The menu included lime and cilantro noodles, sriracha noodles, and pictures that accompanied the menu For previous results, refer to my reviews from March 3rd, 2015 and June 4th, 2015. However, with this most recent visit, we encountered unexpected changes which we report here. The menu did not include lime and cilantro noodles or sriracha noodles, the waiters were different, and they closed at 9:30 pm. The selection menu sans pictures had many great options listed from 1 — 5 starting with appetizers, types of noodles, and then various toppings. But it was unclear whether or not customers who chose pre-made noodle combinations could also select toppings as they were included in the same list from 1 — 5. So it was a bit confusing, but fortunately, the waiter did clarify that those who customized their noodle bowls could select toppings, and those with pre-made noodle combinations can choose to add additional toppings for an extra price. Thus, there were found to be many different, unique pathways to take to satisfy your palate and noodle needs. Intervals between quality control checks(QCC) were measured by two stopwatches that collected data points upon each visitation from a waiter who asked about our party’s well-being. Intervals between QCC were 3, 3, 2, 0.16, 10, 2, 5, and 5 minutes before it stopped. We stopped tracking the intervals between QCC when it stopped and when it was apparent that they were closing. We calculated the standard deviation and found that it was large. We observed that there was a higher frequency during the time we were waiting for the food and while we were eating. As it was closer to the closing time, the intervals between QCC became larger. At that time, they were busy cleaning up and doing other things. So this suggests that they do care and are ready to help the customers for most of the time we spent there. However, the frequency was so high that it was increasingly and uncomfortably awkward the entire time. This contrasts greatly with the previous experience with the female waitress — a more normal, dining experience involving typical intervals of waiter-customer interaction. They should have also told the other tables before they sat down that they were taking last-calls for food orders although they were still taking drink orders as I heard the customers’ disappointment. The drinks were good; I had the passion fruit mojito. The consistency of the noodles were excellent, and the taste was good, albeit a bit salty for one eater. All in all, I still love their noodles, but the shift in the dining experience here was unexpectedly odd. And this manuscript is the result of eating here with other scientists, biologists, and a post-doc, so acknowledgments go out to them for the geek-out session!

Small restaurant with trendy décor, they offer noodles and appetizers with an Asian fusion twist. I ordered the Dirty fries and Garlic Shrimp Noodles with braised beef as an additional topping, and a peach and strawberry green tea. Service was great and they were accommodating to the guests’ needs. The dirty fries were great! The bacon and garlic aioli made the fries a delicious appetizer. The noodles and drinks are customizable to the selected offerings or you can choose one of their signature flavors. The garlic flavors are very strong here! I would suggest starting at regular flavor level and going on from there. The braised beef was tender and packed with delicious flavor as well! I also enjoyed the peach and strawberry green tea which was refreshing and a great drink to quench your thirst from the noodles. Overall, I enjoyed my lunch here and wouldn’t mind coming back to try the other noodles!

Beef noodle off the hook. Instead of serving chunk of beef meat, they use beef brisket, and it melts in your mouth. Do not under estimate their bowl of noodles, they are pretty big. Lots of noodle, meat and money worth. Check out their party wings. Honey badger, Mongolian, Chipotle and Naked wings were part of their party wings(one piece each) honey badger was my favorite. Drinks — mojito green tea was alright. Lychee green tea had chunks of lychee which was yummy. Parking — street parking or rear parking. Small place but cozy. Service is good because it’s a small cozy place. Will be coming back.

Glad I picked this place for my birthday lunch! Got the pesto vegetable noodle thing, it was tasty and flavorful. I feel like most noodle shops drop the ball on the vegetarian dishes but this one was . Ain’t got the chicken wing noodles and loved it. She’s a picky eater so that’s really saying something. Interior is beautiful service is great, parking at the 2 hour lot a few blocks east. I’ll be back. :)

Everything looks and sounds good. Tastes meh. My friends and I wanted to find a place to work on stuff in Alhambra. We came here to avoid the youths that were let out of school early. They have a small parking lot, and there is parking all around once you get off of Main Street. The décor looks pretty cool, and the servers were nice. I don’t think there were many outlets… so I guess not work friendly for us technology-dependent working folks.(the 2 stars is solely based on their food though.) Food-wise, this place is mostly known for their customized noodles(duh) and drinks. However, I was not impressed. I had the lime and cilantro flavored noodles with some custom fixings, and it was not good… I also had their mojito and it tasted pretty flat. My friends ordered dirty fries(meh) and wings(these were decent). Appearance-wise this place seemed hip, but the taste was just a letdown.

I ordered the Beef noodle soup cost 8.26 Thirteen herbs and spices, slow-cooked beef chunks, and two full days of prep. Topped with blanched spinach and a side of their spicy mustard green. You get to choice with light, regular, or strong soup broth. I chose regular soup. Overall it was okay. Chewy noodles, not really impressed that the braised beef was one big blob with fat. They could have at least chopped it into edible pieces. For Extra beef, spinach, and noodles cost 1.83 Also ordered the dirty fries as a starter/appetizer. They said its the most popular. It’s topped with garlic aioli, cured bacon, and chopped cilantro for 5.51 It’s good, the garlic aioli was bit salty and creamy. I was not expecting creamy, but it was crispy with the bacon bites. My friend said its the best garlic fries he’s ever had. For drinks, I had the clover milk tea for 2.75 The drink is not bad, it tasted more like chocolate milk, addicting or maybe I was just really thirsty. Friend ordered the spicy braised beef noodles. This was dry with no soup. It had a fried egg and spinach in it. I tasted it, it was alright. Noodles was chewy. Service was okay. Waitress did not provide napkins when we tried to get her attention. My mouth and noise was running, thanks. Eventually got the napkins near the end of my lunch. Everything’s mediocre. I could only enjoy the fries. I do not think I would come back, sorry. I would suggest going to an authentic Chinese or Taiwanese café for beef noodle stew. This place is considered hipster for Alhambra. Also when we asked for the bill, it took pretty long. They need more workers or just another server who pays more attention to customers.

I walked in skeptical and came out glad I tried it out. It’s best described as a variation on the noodle house theme that has long graced the San Gabriel Valley. Alhambra’s Main Street is a bit different in that it attracts business like Honey Badger that experiment and showcase their blend of modern and traditional cooking. I would not call it a hole in the wall. The walls are graced by terrific art by a Bay Area Pixar veteran, but on to the food… The lamb noodle soup is excellent. I have it ordered it twice in a row and might even recommend it to someone who normally sniffs at the notion of lamb. I favor the broth in «strong» and would advise you to do the same. It’s hearty and delicious. Oddly the website associated with the restaurant is long out of date. You need to ask them why nobody has bothered to update the site. They have Wi-Fi, but that’s a distraction.

Noodle, do the noodle dance! Let’s chomp chomp chomp, clap clap clap. Because you can do the noodle dance! So are you hungry? If you are then, head your way to Honey Badger Noodle Shop in Alhambra. They serve the finest of Chinese food that is available for sitting in, taking out, or delivery. The staff are friendly and tries their best to accommodate your needs. It is neat watching the chefs cook because they work based on a timer to make sure your food gets to you in a timely manner. Signature Stir Fry Noodles(that I’ve tried): Garlicky Noodle Shrimp — this is the most popular stir fry on the menu. You will see why because the garlic is on par with the combination of shrimp and green buckwheat noodles. Yum! Yum! Tangy Caramelized Pork Belly Noodles — the pork belly is caramelized in a tangy sauce. The flavor is very interesting, but I would recommend to order the sauce strong to get a better kick! ***NOTE: You can choose the flavors to be light, regular, or strong! Sweet Teas(that I’ve tried): Passion Fruit Peach Tea — super fruity and yummy! you will feel the passion as you slurp down this peach tea. So let’s solve your hunger and craving problems by eating at Honey Badger Noodle Shop. Also, don’t forget to do the noodle dance! CHOMPCHOMPCHOMP, CLAPCLAPCLAP! Because you will definitely be satisfied here! ASALWAYS, NOMFORLIFE!

First time here and this place was smaller than I expected. I called and ordered for to go. The woman who picked up the phone seemed to have hard time understanding what I wanted to order and I just had to repeat the menu item name again and again. Food– Hungry Badger Noodle 3 Star The noodle texture was great, it was chewy. The flavor was full of garlic taste. However there was a weird after taste of the noodle which I don’t like and I wasn’t sure what it was. The bacon wrapped shrimp were okay, shrimp was not as fresh as I expected. The egg was over cooked and hard. Party Wings 3 Star I like the crispiness of the wings. However, based on the menu, the wings should have chipotle flavor, honey badger flavor, mongolian flavor and naked flavor, I just tasted same flavor for all these 7 wings. Def no «party» feelings after eat those disappointing wings. Peach and Strawberry Green Tea with aloe vera 1 Star This was definitely too sweet. I almost feel like getting diabetes after drinking this. Usually even in Half&Half or Tea Brick regular sugar would not gross me out like this but this drink was definitely too sweet. I did not taste much aloe vera here either. I think there are def better hand drawn noodle places in SGV area. Definitely disappointed by this experience.

If garlic and flavors are what you look for, then this is the place to be! This little place has several signature noodle dishes & my boyfriend and I tried 2 of their dishes. I got the Crackin’ Scallion Noodles($ 7.34) with regular amount of sauce/flavor(you can choose from light, regular, & strong). I chose the regular because it’s regular lol. It comes with bacon bits, red onions, egg & boy Choy. This bowl of noodles was pretty SALTY. The mixture of the bacon bits, red onions & huge amounts of pepper overpowered the taste. The one thing I loved was the egg. I’m not a huge fan of the yolk but the egg whites was a GREAT compliment to the saltyness. I admit that I was turned off from the salty flavor but the manager was really nice & when I told her about it, she immediately offered to make me a new bowl with a light amount of sauce. I admired her dedication to customer satisfaction. And she even gave us samples of a passion peach tea which was pretty good. Overall, there’s a possibility that I would come back. Like I said, I learned my lesson to keep it safe with LIGHT flavor or the flavor will overcome the bowl of noodles & my tastebuds.

I am really debating on the rating. I would say 4. It’s a small and intimate eatery, would be very great for a date. The food is not expensive at all. Appetizers are under $ 3, noodles are about $ 8. The party wings are nothing like expected. The chef made some great delicious unique sauces, with layer upon layers of flavors. I think there must be some peanut butter, and perhaps garlic? It is creamy and rich. The house garlicky shrimp noodle is wonderful. We ordered the mild flavored, although I regretted that as soon as I tasted the noodle. Stronger flavor would be much much more pleasing, if you don’t mind the tamed garlic scent. The Taiwanese beef noodle is quite delicious too, the beef was shredded and tender. Their oolong tea was freshly brewed and served in a HoneyBadger mug. As a huge tea drinker, I still think it would be nicer if it comes in a teapot, will keep the tea hot, and the further you go, the more flavor the leaves will release – which is the best part of the tea drinking experience. The service is spot on, not too overly tentative.

Yummy. Garlicky Shrimp Noodles– Homemade flour noodles, with a slight burnt taste from the grill, firm shrimp, crunchy pieces of garlic, and garlicky sauce. Mmm, I recommend it. Braised Beef Noodles– the beef is fall apart with your fork soft. It is a bit sweet for my tastes, but the beef is undeniably tender. Cleanliness could be desired. Despite the A health rating, my water glass had unidentifiable white sauce dripping down the side, and the chopsticks had food particles stuck onto it. If they want to leave utensils and cups at the table, they should cover it. Patrons are not careful or clean. Also, I miss the delicious sandwiches from Honey Badger Café. Bring them to this location, please.

Met my friend for lunch here and was really liked the look and feel of this place. It was modern and had cool décor. The menu was pretty simple — there were fries, chicken wings and different noodles — soup based and dry and of course an array of tea drinks that actually tasted like tea. The service was also really good — very friendly and helpful. For drinks, I ordered the mint mojito tea which was really good. My friend got this strawberry drink with chia seeds. These drinks are humongous and very tasty! For food, we ordered the dirty fries as well as two noodle dishes — the braised beef and the CYO dish. The fries were bomb, so yummy! Also really like the braised beef noodle — very tasty and delicious. The crackin noodle was a little too peppery for my taste and we barely ate that one. All I could really taste was the pepper and in retrospect, we both could have probably shared the beef noodle and fries and been fine. Overall a solid place, definitely would go back to try more dishes.
