My experience with Dr. Patel is that he is a dynamic doctor who is caring, thorough, experienced and gives it to you straight. He saw that I was worried and showed real compassion to address my concerns. His thinking and request for data(e.g. reports and slides and such and further testing that was needed in our case) showed that he wants to make the most informed diagnosis possible and wants to do things the right way, even if he was not to do the surgery… which meant he would not have our business as such. He gave me confidence in his knowledge and heart. Gloria, a staff member, and at least two other staff members –as I recall, also showed me compassion and follow through. They are a good team and I am happy I met Dr. Patel.

Cannot speak to dr patels skills in the operating room, because let’s face it that’s all that really matters when a dr is standing over you with a scalpel. What I can speak to is his front office, they are the worst in all areas ! Lazy, rude, disdain are just a few words to describe these women. Yes Gloria this includes you.

I’ve did major research on Dr. Patel because he conducted surgery on my mom for her obstruction of the bowel movement. He has over 30 years of experience and is one of the most informative doctor I’ve ever met. My sister and I was at the San Gabriel hospital and Dr. Patel was the most helpful and caring of all doctors we’ve encountered during my Mom’s stay. I almost lost hope in good physicians until I met Patel. My first impression of Dr Patel is that he has a passion for helping people. Hes very informative and provided very detailed information about my mom’s condition. He even showed us 10 different xray films of my mom’s condition and went over all the blood results. I’m not really sure why he has bad ratings but my family is very thankful to encounter this absolutely great doctor. To make a long story short, he saved my mom’s life. I’m not sure what the reviewer below is saying about him not giving you the time of day after surgery. He visited my mom three times within a day after surgery.

Dr. Patel removed my gallbladder 6 years ago. I was doing fine for 6 years, but 2 days ago I started having sharp pain in the same area. I wanted for him to see me. I am in a lot of pain, not enough to go to the ER, but enough to seek help. His secretary can’t give me an appointment until a month later. They don’t care about what my condition is. The secretary said, «sorry the Dr. is busy doing surgery, and then he has to see his appointments». Can’t even squeeze in a phone call. As a patient, if this Dr. doesn’t even know that his patient is trying to contact him, then I’ve just become a number to him. It is very upsetting that his staff can do that. For future patients, just know that according to his staff, Dr. Patel doesn’t have time for you once surgery is completed.

Gloria, the assistant, was extremely rude on the phone even though she was the one who needed us to move our appointment last minute. I would recommend Dr. Patel but not his staff.
