Dr. Tally and his team have always been incredible. I have been a patient for over 20 years. You’ll really appreciate Dr. Tally’s direct communication and no non-sense recommendations. Allow me to explain… About five years ago I moved out of the area and went to a different dentist once. I had never had a cavity but the other dentist told me I urgently needed to have cavities filled. Lucky I refused treatment and went back to doctor Tally. He explained that I had some staining and that no work was necessary, saving me hundreds. Five years later, the«cavities» another dentist told me I have are still non-existant. I will never go to another dentist.

I had high expectations going into Paul Tally’s dentist office at Tally Dental Excellence, but of course… it was not to be. I’ve always had phobic/high anxiety issues going to the dentist(history of bad teeth, etc) and when I transferred to Paul Tally’s dentist office, my primary concern and criteria for going there was that(a) they were professional and(b) they offered dream/sedation dentistry, which I wanted to utilize to regain some of my confidence in dentistry(in general) and get back on track with taking care of my teeth. Upon my initial visit, both of these criteria were proposed to them and I was assured that they could provide solutions to both of these conditions. And to be fair, right off the bat Tally Dental Excellence was a very clean, professional and friendly business. The receptionists & assistants were very friendly and accommodating. For the record, I completely respect Dr. Tally and the work that he does. However, you need to be warned: he immediately struck me as being a «Dr. House”-styled practitioner: very skilled, quick, and efficient… but with no bedside manner whatsoever and coming across as being very arrogant. I felt that my requests/statements fell on deaf ears. Ok, whatever. If he does good work, then I’m completely and 100% square with that. However, what I’m NOT happy with is the fact that while I had been going to Tally’s for a year or so, nobody told me that Dr. Tally either lost or had chosen to discontinue his use and/or certification for performing dream/sedation/sleep dentistry(utilizing Halicon/Triazolam/etc for anxiety-free dentistry). So, after being repeatedly told that my upcoming crown treatment/replacement would be pain-free, that I wouldn’t remember any of the procedure and that it would go a long way in assuring that I would have an anxiety-free experience, in the days prior to the visit I have discovered that the truth is anything and everything but. In the last 48 hours, I discovered that they phoned in the prescription a day late, the prescription given was for a very general medication that actually does not do at ALL what I was told it would do(completely different type of effect/class of medication), and just now found out that it was given to me because Dr. Tally no longer does the kind of dentistry that I originally had come to his office to receive. I was also repeatedly told that there was no «hard date» that he stopped providing the services, though he was«no longer able to perform» this type of dentistry. I had several simple questions. Why was I not told that this form of dentistry was no longer performed at this office/by this dentist? Why are they still advertising these services on their website if they are no longer being offered? What kind of certification was required, why did he discontinue his use/approval of this type of dentistry, and why was I not notified that this service was no longer offered when I specifically made a point to ask them to add notes to my record that I specifically wanted to address my dental anxiety issues? Upon asking these questions, NONE of them were answered… and I was told that they didn’t have a good answer for me on any of them, either. I thanked them for their time, cancelled my upcoming appointment and immediately gave them an email address that they could(and would) email my records & x-rays to. I do NOT recommend Dr. Paul Tally or becoming a patron at Tally Dental Excellence. Obviously… this is just my experience. But it is one that I think is worth being known.
