Excellent omelettes! Properly seasoned, hot, and cooked by one of the friendliest cooks you’ll ever come across. Very fast service, also. Give them a try if you’re in the Allen Park/Dearborn area.

Amazing food, doesn’t matter if your getting breakfast or lunch. The cooks make everything homemade even down to hand battering the onion rings. Never had anything I didn’t like here :)

I live in Washington, DC and this is a MUST visit every time I am in the area. Admittedly, I can only speak to the breakfasts but there is no reason to venture beyond that on the menu. It is the quintessential Diner! It seats about a couple handfuls of obese eaters and the price cannot be beat. For example, Eggs Benedict in the DC area about $ 14 and higher; the SAME plate at Ted’s is $ 6 or $ 7. This is my first and last stop whenever I visit the area. When the steam coats the wintry windows, and you are greeted by the the aroma of coffee and the griddle. .. «there is no place like home».

I love coming here for breakfast. The staff is outstanding & the food is great. A lot better than the other coney island down the street.

Just came back from Ted’s. Fabulous food, fabulous service! We had breakfast, delicious omelettes and American fries, with raisin toast.(Why don’t all breakfast menus have raisin toast?) Next time in I’m getting a salad. There is are many different salads and they looked fantastic. Super cool décor, great parking in a town that has lots of parking but not usually convenient, wide variety menu, a true family diner. I totally understand why this adorable place has been open for over 30 years. BIG5 stars! I would have given 6 if offered.

They were decent as far as breakfast. Lunch was a whole new story. Terrible chili, terrible microwaved hot dogs. Then we noticed they keep the to go cups and lids as well as the pancake batter stored in the men’s restroom. Nasty nasty.

Solid Coney Island for breakfast. The service is typical Coney Island — you get what you ask for, and no one is mincing words. Rarely get more than halfway through a cup of coffee before it’s topped off. Not sure why anyone below would complain about a $ 19 breakfast for two, but hey I guess some people feel life’s too long as opposed to too short.

Go here for lunch when i am looking to have some good old greasy breakfast food and escape the rush of Dearborn lunch. They have outdoor seating for those nice summer days that you must take advantage of.

SCAMMERALERT — Do not go. Going to Ted’s reminded me of movies where vistors get royally screwed when passing thru small Southern towns. My advice — don’t go. -=-=- Clientel all seemed to know each other — very small-townish and the diner style(the building and the food) is very much remeniscent of the 50’s. The only tables that couples are ALLOWED to sit at were small and cramped(There are permanent signs on the larger tables prohibiting them from being used by parties of less than 3). The food was good — not exceptional. Service started as acceptable but degraded to non-existant. Server never came to check on the coffee — if you want more coffee at Teds, you’ll need to speak up loudly and repetetively. When we finally did get some, I got the last ½ cup in the pot(which means that the not enough coffee is being made) and no one ever came(or even thought about coming) to finish the refill later on. Getting boxes for the leftovers was even more of a challenge. Eventually we had to simply go get them ourselves. Listed prices were about $ 6 per breakfast and $ 2 for coffee, so when it came time to pay, we expected to pay about $ 14, but the bill came to $ 19! Bill was not itemized so we asked for quick review, which was presented as rapidly as one could imagine. The numbers still didn’t add up so we had to ask again. Everyhing sounded OK until the last item, which was a WHOLLYUNEXPECTED charged 3.00 ala carte price for English muffins! When the waitress asked about type of toast, we asked about english muffins — and were told«no problem». Since we never got toast, there was no reason to expect an a(hefty) la carte charge for them. Called Ted by phone afterwards to let him know, and he’s oblivious to the problem of misrepresentation. His comment: «Hey — we have to make money too.» As you can expect, we’re not(ever) going back and we’re not reccomending this place to anyone — particularly not to friends

Went to Ted’s on a Sunday morning after attempting to go to Tina’s down the street which was closed. Don’t know why Tina’s was closed, just a sign on the door stating such. But I digress… It was our first visit here and really didn’t know what to expect. The place is tiny, but clean. We ended up sitting at the counter because all the tables were full. There is outdoor seating, but opted for indoors. After looking over the menu, my husband opted for the corned beef hash w/eggs and I ordered 2 eggs over easy, hashbrowns, sausage and toast. At the counter, we had a full view of the grill which you may want to keep in mind if that skeeves you out. Not a problem for us… no cooking transgressions occurred whilst we were watching. Food was served quickly and was very tasty. My eggs were perfect, not too runny and not too hard, plus they were cooked so that the whites stayed close together, not spread all over the place. You would think it’s easy to cook eggs properly, but it’s not. I’ve had some bad eggs, so the fact that they can pull this off is a plus. The hashbrowns were interesting, some big chunks and some shreds. Not too brown, not too undercooked. Just like porridge, just right. Only complaint was the toast could have been an little more toasty. My husband declared his hash excellent and very filling. We will certainly be back.

I’m from Michigan and hey, if you are ever in town, this place is about 10 minutes from the Detroit Metro Airport. You’ll spend about $ 4 and get the breakfast heart attack that you may be looking for. It’s the way breakfast used to be! The gravy is delicious too… just like mama makes it. Atmosphere is filled with Coca-cola items and that waitress that chews her gum like a cow and sticks a pencil in her ear. I give it 4 stars!
