This place is soooo good! I got the Barbacoa tacos and the Elote. WOW. The Elote is the best I’ve ever tasted in my life even better than some of the Latin cuisine spots around town; and the serving size was pretty hefty! I’ll definitely be back for more! Amanda’s Cabin is delicious!

Great food and the owners were extremely friendly. So glad we found this place. Best chicken quesadilla I’ve ever had. Also the street corn and Amanda’s soup is terrific.

Best Street tacos I have ever eaten. Both Steak and Chicken are delicious, but the Steak was extra good!

Had the tamales. They were good. The soup was to die for. Don’t let the $ 8.99 price tag get you– it was enough to feed 2 adults. Awesome soup. Will be back to try other items soon.

I dropped by on Friday night and had to sample the tamales: one pork, one chicken & a jalapeño cheese. They came with the the red, smoky salsa. Let me just say, they were all good but I fell in love with the jalapeño cheese – addicting! Glad to see this little gem in this east Allen fixture & will definitely be back!

After coming back and trying some more of her food, I find myself absolutely confirmed in my 5 star review. I have now also tried a chicken quesadilla and the house specialty soup and both were excellent. The quesadilla is really big and was perfectly crisped and filled with delicious chicken and cheese. The soup, filled with beans, bacon, chopped beef and cilantro was very tasty. It’s hard to describe, since I haven’t had a soup like this before. Almost like perfect charro beans, only in a semi-spicy broth with lots of meat and bacon. I have now also tried all four available salsas. The red and the tomatillo salsa were just as good as last time. And the avocado salsa(spicy) and spicy red salsa were excellent as well. The spicy red is almost a little too spicy for me, but you can still taste the flavor, so I couldn’t help but eat it anyway. As an aside, despite it being in a small little drive-up hut/shack/house, this is not fast food. It is made freshly when you order, so it takes a moment to prepare, but you can absolutely taste the difference! So, please give this little local business a try, you won’t be sorry. I want them to stick around, because I’m kind of addicted to their tomatillo salsa now!
