This company will lie to you repeatedly. They want to keep their contracts with the local schools, but will promise to do repairs to your instrument within a certain time. In my case, they took the instrument on a Thursday and said they would call back the next day. Four days later(over the weekend), I called and was told the repair person was out and would call me within a couple of hours. After not hearing from them again for two days, I called and was finally able to reach the repair person. He said work would be done by the end of the week. Friday, when it was promised to be done, I called and spoke with the repair person. He said he had just looked at it and had done nothing. He said he could not do part of the work that the owner had agreed to do when I left the instrument. The owner supports the falsities and tells you to take your instrument somewhere else if you do not want to just keep waiting. How pathetic! You do not need the hassle you will find here! They deserve less than one star. I took my instrument back. Never again!

Dallas Strings/Lawrence Music gives, hands down, the best musical equipment repair service I’ve EVER experienced! A couple of weeks ago, I stopped in after buying an inexpensive, used upright bass. I knew it needed to be set-up, so I was hoping they could do that(they do, all day long, by the way). The owner, Ron, was the first person I spoke to. He was so incredibly personable and made me feel extremely comfortable, even though I had no previous experience with upright basses. My bass is a cheap one, but they never made me feel that it was bad, not worth playing on, etc. They looked it over and explained what would really be needed to make it play well, while staying within my budget. It’s obvious that Ron’s customer-first attitude rolls down-hill, based on his outstanding employees. The bass tech that I worked with, Jeff, was equally awesome to work with. If you have a stringed instrument that needs repair, or if you’re in the market to buy one, please go here first! You will, I assure you, coming away feeling the way I did: their only desire is to help people enjoy playing music, not trying to drain your bank account. Absolutely perfect experience.
