Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse of Allen

I been remodeling the garage. Putting dryer and washer outside there. The only problem I have is they do not have anyone to help with what I need Electrical Dept No knowledge what so ever. So don’t brother asking. The cabinet department is right on. When to Home Depot across the street for the breakers I needed.

I went in tonight to purchase batteries because of how convenience it is (you have your batteries located by the registers), and it was my worst experiences at Lowe’s. I paid through self-​checkout because you had no cashiers up front. After I paid, I realized it was not rung up correctly. I notified the self-​checkout attendant, Adriana, and she said she cannot take care of me, I had to go to customer service. She then refused to talk to me further. I walked all the way to the opposite side of the store, talked to Sheryl, and she said she cannot take care of me, that I had to go back to the cashier. I wanted her to see the price on the shelves herself, but she refused to come with me. WHAT!!! I was done at this point. It wasn’t about the $ 1 difference, it’s an ethical thing. You cannot label something for one price and it rings up otherwise on the registers. This is cheating your customers! I sure didn’t want to go all the way back to the other side of the store and begged for Adrian, who refused to help me the first time, to help me. I returned my item and asked to see a manager, who didn’t care to come neither! 15 minutes past, no batteries, one extremely frustrated customer. I needed to be heard, so I called the store back and wanted to address my concern with a manager. Phone operator transferred my call four times, couldn’t get a manager on the phone! It seems like no one care to help, no one care to resolve customer service issue. AWFUL experience! AWFUL employees, AWFUL manager!

In terms of products, they have a wide selection and you’ll probably find what you need. Obviously it’s much easier if you know what you need beforehand, as the store is rather large. Don’t expect much help from the workers. Honestly it’ll probably feel like you know more than they do. The workers just give off an atmosphere of apathy and ignorance. It’s like it’s their first day. That being said, if you go with the intention of buying a certain item and getting out, the store is perfect.

I recently bought a house in Allen and have spent over $ 15 000 at this Lowes. However lately i have found the quality of customer service has dropped significantly. No one wants to help so and people you talk to act like they are unhappy that you approached them. It got so bad last weekend that I had to leave a half full cart and went across the street to Home Depot where I found surprisingly efficient and courteous service. The prices at Home Depot are also cheaper. Lowe’s, you lost a customer today.

Long time shopper growing more and more disappointed with this location of Lowe’s. I like to support businesses where I live, so we shop at Lowe’s and Home Depot in Allen often. 11 years ago I felt that the service was equal but over time I have found that we receive better service at Home Depot. The management at the Plano location on 75N seems better, that makes a big difference.

This location is clean and well organized. The staff there are generally helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. We bought a washer and dryer and had some challenges with the delivery dates, but their delivery manager, Alma, was very helpful and made it much more tolerable. She updated us on key dates and followed through. I would recommend this location.

Ask for Shannon in Appilanes she’s awesome… We have used her for a long time and she has never steered us wrong…

Lowe’s has an excellent product selection. HOWEVER, the last two visits in which I have come to buy from the gardening aisles outside. The service is not on par, in fact it is terrible. There appeared to be a number of employees working however noone wants to aid in loading, they barely speak when you come in. I get the impression they are nervous anyone will want them to help load mulch, flowers, soil. Why are you working back here if you are unable or unwilling to assist? For Pete’s Sake grab a loader and let’s shop! More than likely Home Depot will get business as it relates to customer service but Lowe’s is priced better. Hope things change soon in the customer service department. Paging manager.

As a young women, I rarely go into hardware stores, and when I do I never have any idea where to look for what I need. I always find myself running around trying to find someone to help me and they seem just as clueless. This Lowes was nothing like that. I was nicely greeted at the door and right away then asked me if I needed help with anything! Well actually I did, of course. He was very nice and showed me were to go, when I couldn’t find what I needed he got another employee to help out. By the end there were 4 employees trying to figure out where the specific item was I needed. Unfortunately they were out, but they pulled up another location for me that had what I needed. All the employees were very friendly and helpful!

As expected

I’ve had great luck at the Allen store. When I was looking for tile to replace existing junk, I got a lot of help from one of tile experts. He was extremely helpful (and I wrote the store about the great experience). I’m in there a lot to look at yard stuff and am generally pleased with the store. I only wish they didn’t have so many of 1 color in some of the plants but that’s probably not a store function as much as a corporate one. I do get some of the organic products and I love the organic ant spray — I use it outdoors as it has a strong aroma — but I love it and the ants hate it. Lines can be long here at busy times so I generally go early.

I prefer Home Depot over Lowe’s but on higher ticket items Lowe’s tends to have better prices. I’ve spent over $ 3,000 at this Lowe’s over the last few weeks and the experience has been okay but not great.
My biggest complaint about this store is they seem over staffed but nobody is really helpful. Customer Service is unmanned the several time I’ve showed up to pick up my new kitchen appliances.
The grill guy couldn’t tell me if my 2 – 3 year old Lowe’s grill could be converted to natural gas… tried to sell me a kit that luckily I found out wouldn’t work … and couldn’t tell me much about the grills in general but tried to up sell me [can’t up sell me without knowing your products] when I decided to buy a natural gas grill. Sorry, if I can read the same information off the box you’re not helping me.
I also find the appliance staff to be pushy. If you even look at an appliance they leech onto you and keep coming back every few minutes to try and «help you». Again, they don’t know much about the appliances. The last straw with their appliance people was when the guy tried to lie to me and say that the fridge I wanted didn’t have any matching appliances and tried to up sell me on a different model. [I get the impression they must make commission on some of this stuff and try to sell you on in-​store items.]
I found all the matching appliances were available online (it was a professional series) on their website. But, that’s $ 4,700 I’m spending elsewhere now.

As big box home improvement warehouses go, I love Lowe’s. They don’t have that — well, that smell that the «orange box» seems to have all of the time (a product of lawn and garden chemicals, I believe). I’ve rented a carpet cleaner here (back when they had Rug Doctor; they’ve recently switched to Bissel; not sure how I feel about that), bought paint for some redecorating, plumbing supplies, lumber, the list goes on. The staff is helpful and will make sure you find what you need. I also had a great experience with getting a car key made here; the employee was a little worried about cutting my blank that had an electronic fob built in, so he suggested cutting a bare key first and having me go out and verify that it worked; it did, and the fob key was a success soon thereafter.
All in all, I’ve had nothing but good experiences with this retailer and this location.
