Holy crap, this place is good! Everything. Every time. Come here. Hang on, gotta set my phone down so I can shove this food into my face. If your grandma is taking too long getting out of the car, leave her behind. It’s worth it.

Fabulous food. On Mondays with the price of a regular priced entrée you get one kids entrée free. It was a great deal. Plenty of food. Had to get to go boxes to take it all home. Great quality food, and big portions. The cannolli is really delicious. Will be going back for sure.

This restaurant is amazing. It is very close by, and for years now I have been saying I am going to try it, but have never gotten around to that. The other day I was craving italian food and I am sick of Olive Garden so I decided to give this a shot. The only regret I have is not coming here sooner. The food is very fresh and homely. The portions are large and I had the leftovers for lunch and dinner the next day. The décor had this rustic feel but with a modern edge. The customer service was superb and the manager was a nice and down to earth guy. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner that day and will definitely come back!

Best. Italian. Ever. We like to share different appetizers and the wedding soup is amazing. Service is always quick and non intrusive.

I love the atmosphere of this place. It is beautifully decorated. The booths are cozy. And the service was great! I had chicken parm with veggies instead of pasta, what a great Paleo option. For dessert we had cannolis and tiramisu. So delish! I brought 3 kids who loved it all. I would also recommend thing for couples or adult groups. The wine selection is good. The beer selection could be better(craft beer, come on!!). Our waiter was fabulous. I recommend this for a weekend dinner – the wait on Friday night was only about 20 minutes.

Went there for Mother’s Day(2016) and felt like my entire family was back in Roma or Trastevere! Unfortunately they don’t take reservations for less than a party of 6(we were 5) so we had to wait about half an hour, but then again it was Mother’s Day so everyone(and their Mother) was out and about having dinner. The dining area and the bar are a bit small but not too crowded or overwhelming. It’s a bit dark inside, but due to the dark contrasts(dark brown roof, dark blinds, black booths, etc) but it makes for a nice change. The Food: OMG… first of all they have Peroni beer(which I love) and the fresh baked bread they bring out is steaming hot that just melts the butter and soaks up the olive oil you put on it. Secondly, the Italian Wedding Soup is just absolutely fantastic. I very highly recommend getting at least a cup of it to start your dining experience and clear you palette. I had the Chicken Parmigiana which the portions I must say are very generous. All five of us had to take«to-go» boxes as well as most of the tables around us and the people we saw walking out while we sat and waited for our table. For the Chicken and Milanese you get to pick what pasta you’d like(Penne, Alfredo, or Spaghetti). It’s nice and zesty without too much marinara and just the right amount of cheese to top it off. The Cheese Lasagna and Sausage Lasagna were the size of a children’s shoebox and layered just right. I reinstate that the portions are very big and just right for the price! The Locale is very well decorated, from the bar to the bathrooms, you’ll get a nostalgic feel for Italia. Vintage paintings, photographs of Italian athletes, actors, singers, etc. give a very warm welcoming feel. The music that played in the background was oldies, but it’s not too loud and they have TV’s around the entire dining area while you wait. The wait staff was young, but given it was Mom’s Day they were very attentive to everyone around us and constantly checked up on us to make sure our drinks were never past half a glass and that we had bread and the necessary condiments to make our dining experience outstanding. So, Bouna Sera and enjoy this nice little hidden gem in the industrial zone of Allen just of Bethany.

Phenomenal!!! Real deal, full flavor amazing pasta dishes. Mozzarella garlic bread is a must. If seafood pasta is your alley, order The Gianni. Delicious! Succulent langostino lobster, and shrimp with mushrooms and a good heat lighter sauce. Can’t wait to come back and try other dishes.

This was our first time at the restaurant, and it was about average for us. When we arrived, we were told there would be a 30 – 40 minute wait.(They accept reservations for parties of 6 or more!) We had planned on it since it was a Saturday night, so no biggie! The hostess seemed a little frazzled and bothered with us, but we took a seat to wait. Thankfully, we were called to be seated 12 minutes later. The server was sweet, although he was hard to hear. I think he must have been newer as he had to read from a list of what the specials were for the night, and he didn’t seem too sure what some of it even was. Still, he was pleasant! The menu says to ask about the ravioli specials for the night, but the server replied with the fact they didn’t have any ravioli that night. Seemed odd, but we ordered the mozzarella meatball bake for an appetizer. When it arrived, it was barely warm. In fact, some of the cheese still wasn’t melted. I expect this would have been much better hot and gooey, but it tasted fine. I guess we should have sent it back for another heating, but we didn’t. That’s on us! The house salad was tasty, and the bread was awesome! My husband ordered the chicken parm, my son got fettuccine alfredo with chicken. and I ordered a calzone. The calzone was huge! And it was by far the best part of the night for me. My kiddo didn’t leave any fettuccine, so that must have been good, too! :) I had a wonderful glass of wine with my meal(red blend) and would have loved to have another, but the waiter didn’t come by in time. When the bill arrived(this place is really fairly priced for what we got!) one of the managers found out it was our first visit. He was kind enough to send out a complimentary cannoli, and it was a great way to end the meal. It’s strange because some parts of the meal were fantastic while others were below average. Overall, this is a great little place to visit, and I think we’ll go back for round two before making a final decision. Thanks, Roman Cucina, for something different than your average chain! If you are in the mood for Italian, give this place a try! We had a pleasant visit.

I’ve had the privilege of eating at the Dallas location on a few special occasions and always had a great experience. So when a special occasion was called for near Allen, it was the only natural selection for me. This location seems bigger and more roomier, but for whatever reason, I prefer the feel of the other one just a tad better. I think it’s because it has a more intimate feel to it, perhaps because on most of the occasions there I was only with my wife. My mother recently passed and some of guys from my men’s group invited my family and I out for a dinner. James, one of the guys and I both love this place and decided it was just the place for an occasion like this. We had a group of about 10 – 12 or so. Bread is as amazing as I remembered it at the other location. I had the special of the day which was a chicken with pasta dish, I can’t recall the exact name but it was delicious. As a matter of fact I can’t remember what most people had, but what I can tell you is that I have not had a bad dish here personally. *(Side note, Mike my Italian buddy did say the Eggplant was just ok) Our service was amazing. The gentleman’s name that served us was Dan(Danimal). We found he was a former football player of one of the guys in our group who was not there that evening. Polite young man and kept us entertained. I’m spoiled at the other spot and the only other touch that I miss from there is David or one of the managers coming by just to say hello, but he was not there this night. There is another brother that runs this location. All in all a great night with great friends, great food, at a great place, remembering a great woman– my Mom.

Restaurants with tons of 5 star ratings are either really good or really trendy. This place has great food. It’s pretty to look at and a good place for a date but the food was awesome. My group had calamari, cheese lasagna, a calzone, Milanese Parmigiana with spaghetti, and Chicken Strappato. The calamari was cooked perfectly but the portion was smaller than I expected. After seeing the huge entrée portions, I got it. The salads have no tomatoes(odd) and come with house vinaigrette or ranch(no other options). No big deal with the side salad but I’m not sure that I’d order an entrée salad. Everyone loved their food. Even the teenagers needed boxes because of the huge portions! I loved that they offered two dishes(other than salad) that are low carb/no grain. The drink and wine menu was good enough for a date but we weren’t drinking so I can’t vouch for quality. Oh and the service was great. The manager working the floor noticed that I hadn’t eaten much and asked if it was okay or if I’d like something else. It was tasty, I just ate too much bread. :)

Can’t recommend Roman Cucina enough. Being a New York native, Roman Cucina has fabulous food and superior service. David & Gio, the owners, are hands on and one of them have always been there when I have visited, which accounts for the exceptional service. The first time I stopped in with my daughter by chance. The food was so amazing I brought my husband and his parents who are Italian Brooklyn natives. They loved the bruschetta, calamari, spaghetti & meatballs and thought the cannolis were as good as cannolis from Umbertos on Mulberry Street in Little Italy in Manhattan. If you are looking for a high end, true Italian restaurant at a great price, Roman Cucina is the place you are looking for. Don’t pass this little jewel up!

Every single time they nail it. Thank you so much for another fantastic evening of wonderful delicious food and drink. I opted for the Italian sausage lasagna and was very glad I did. So hearty and cheesy! Love the ground sausage. Finished off the night with a cannoli(on my couch) which promptly put me to sleep!

I drive by almost everyday and as I grew up on Italian food, my father being Italian, I decided to give it a shot. Took my family on a week night and none of us enjoyed it. I left feeling queasy. I found a piece of plastic in my calamari. I mentioned it to the waitress but she didn’t do anything about it. I was expecting them to at least comp that dish. I won’t be going back again.

The Pasta Gianni is so freaking good. Lobster, shrimp, mushroom, and a spicy olive oil based sauce — YUM. I’m really not doing it any justice by just listing the ingredients. They give you a good amount of lobster and shrimp. Shrimp was cooked to perfection. The sauce is described as spicy but I wouldn’t call it spicy. It had a kick to it though. The portion for the Gianni was pretty big, but I don’t think it’d be shareable between two people. If you’re looking for a lighter pasta option and/or love shrimp and lobster and/or would like to be happy, go for the Pasta Gianni. Service was outstanding. We had a big group of people and were waiting to surprise our friend for his birthday. They let us wait in the back and even came to tell us when our friend was about to walk in. He was so surprised! Shout out to the wonderful people working the dinner shift on January 16!

Great neighborhood Italian spot in Allen off 75. They offer a wide selection of pastas, portions are very generous which equates to a great value. Full alcohol bar ready to go and very attentive service. Each table has olive oil, balsamic vinegar and fresh ground pepper, a nice touch. After we ordered, we were brought a basket of steaming hot bread. The bread was awesome. Had a good crunch with a soft inside and a light burnt aftertaste. The starter salads were well done as well. I had the pasta Gianni, and it came with lots of shrimp and lobsta. The sauce was spicy as described. I hear they have 20% off coupons floating around. I will definitely come back with one of those on my next visit. Pro Tip: Come Tuesdays for a buy one entrée get one ½ off.

My MIL called ahead the same day we were planning on eating there to reserve a table for 7 and didn’t seem to have any issues doing so. We were surprised at how quaint Roman Cucina was. From the hostesses to the waiters to the manager — everyone was extremely nice! Drinks and food came out quickly but we weren’t ever rushed through our dinner. This restaurant is great for a romantic date night or birthday dinners! It seemed like there was a private room in the back. On the night we went, it looked like there was a masquerade/holiday party going on with a live band so I bet this is a good place for rehearsal dinners too! All of the food was good but my favorite part was probably the free bread. It is incredibly delicious. One pasta entrée was enough to share between two people. Salad is good too! We had a little one with us(2 years old) so if you’re wondering, yes it’s a pretty quiet restaurant but very accommodating for kids too I’m sure.

This ia hard one to review. The food is good but not authentic. I love how this place is decorated. It looks like a place Frank Sinatra wold have met up with the rat pack to eat dinner. It reminds me of Jilly’s in Chicago, which is a place where Ol’ Blue Eyes frequented in Chi Town. There was 30 minute wait on a busy Friday evening. We decided to get cocktails and appetizers at the bar. We ordered the meatball appetizer and garlic cheese bread. It was amazing. It consisted of tender baked meatballs with a large dollop of ricotta and drizzled with marinara. The garlic bread was the perfect accompaniment because I was able to sop up all the cheese and sauce after the meatballs were gone. We really liked the bartender Ali, so we decided to eat dinner at the bar. I started with a side salad. It consisted of fresh crisp greens, cucumber, parmesan, and house made red wine vinaigrette. Now, when I go to a restaurant and see a Bolognese sauce on the menu, I have to order it. No exception. But that is where the trouble lies… As I have been to an alarming number DFW«Italian» places and been served what is definitely not a Bolognese sauce… Yes, to the inexperienced eye, this may look like a Bolognese sauce. It’s red(which should really be your first clue that it’s not legit) and there is meat in it. But the ratios were completely backwards! Additionally, which was served to me does not contain everything a true Bolognese should: Minced Carrot Minced Celery Minced Pancetta(or bacon, even) A touch of cream So, when I ordered the spaghetti bolognese is was not authentic. It was a Neapolitan ragù. I was very sad that the menu mislead me to believe it was a bolognese. If it had said Ragu I would not have ordered it and went with Ali’s suggestion of Pasta Giani. My hubby ordered the house made Italian sausage lasagna. It was awesome. It was a huge portion of pasta, ragu, cheeses, and sausage piled high. We will be back to order other items off the menu. It’s a great atmosphere and they serve great American Italian.

I wish this place was closer to me… I’m usually not as far north of Dallas as Allen, but we were driving up to Choctaw and met some friends here for dinner. GREAT choice! There was a wait on arrival so we sat at the bar(which is full service by the way) — the bartender was SUPER friendly and her drinks tasty! Prices are very reasonable and she offered to put our drinks on our table so we didn’t have to tab out. Our server was a little slow and confused taking orders but the food was hot and fresh. Calamari was a huge portion, delicious and crispy. I liked the bruschetta but the tomatoes were too large and difficult to eat — most places dice the tomatoes. My creamy lemon shrimp pasta was supa grud… I would so go back and have another bowl of THAT. If you like lemon… try it! Solid place with a nice open atmosphere, great food with reasonable prices and portions.
