The Joint ...the Chiropractic Place

I went in last week for the first time. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The downside was that I had to wait almost an hour. While the walk-​in nature of this place sounded great in theory, I’m not sure how big of a fan I will be in the long run. I decided to go here primarily because of the location and the «no insurance/​lower fixed prices» aspect. I’m on a high deductible plan which means paying out of pocket until I hit my high deductible so the pricing was a big seller for me. Despite having to wait so long, the doctor was very thorough with my exam and adjustment — I didn’t feel rushed through AT ALL. Because the place is so new, I’m guessing a large percentage of clients are first time visitors which makes the wait time a little longer. Hopefully that will shift and/​or they will add an additional doctor as business dictates.
This facility does only adjustments — no physical therapy/​heat/​massage, etc. The nature of my problems would really benefit from some heat therapy prior to adjustment but I’m going to give them a few visits to see if they can get my issues under control with just the adjustments.

I recently checked out this Joint location after getting an email about their grand opening. If you’ve never heard of the Joint, it’s a chiropractor which conveniently stays open late and on weekends and you don’t need an appointment. Just walk in and get seen. They don’t do x-​rays here either.
Saturday morning was not very busy and there was only one person ahead of me in line. They had food and drinks set out for the grand opening and a wheel to spin to win a prize — fun! I didn’t spend much time waiting because they had two chiropractors working!
Dr. Smith called me back and listened to my complaints. He also was able to review notes on my chart from the other Joint location I go to, which was great. He worked on several areas that were bothering me with several different methods. He took his time to make sure I felt better, despite people multiplying in the waiting area. When I got up from the table, I felt so much better. I will definitely come back to see Dr. Smith at this location. The other doctor looked like he knew what he was doing as well.
The front desk girls were very friendly and sweet, I felt very welcomed. I liked that they had a schedule posted on the counter to see which doctors work when. One note, hopefully they will reduce the amount of fragrance (candles, air freshener) which the receptionist said was to mask the fresh paint smell.
