Holmgren’s black belt academy has been a wonderful place for our son to learn discipline and get strong. We love Marty and the rest of the staff — and the facility is wonderful! Convenient, clean, spacious. Free wifi and a place to bring your laptop and get some work done while the kids work out — or watch from the viewing area. It’s a great asset to Allendale and I would recommend to anyone!

This place is one of a kind. All my children have attended and have loved every minute. Marty is a teacher, mentor and role model to all the students from a very young age. The facilities are very large, spacious (something not always available in other martial arts achools), well equipped, convenient and clean. What sets this place apart is Marty Holmgren. He teaches discipline, technique, respect and personal strength. However, what I like most is his focus on the pure physical fitness that my children have come away with. They are building habits that will last the rest of their lives. A love for fitness as well as skills.

Holmgren’s Black Belt Academy is truly a special place. I drive from Ridgewood to Allendale two days per week, passing many other studios on my way. The owner, Marty Holmgren, has a real gift for working with children of all abilities. He is firm with the children and offers an abundance of praise at the same time.
I would recommend this karate studio to anyone.
