Been coming here for years. Love the assortment and everything is delicious. The store is very clean and fun to browse. Highly recommend.

Their caramel is amazing, and my husband loves the nonpareils.

It’s not cheap, but it’s probably the best local chocolatier around. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the place. I haven’t had issues with the staff that some other Unilocalers have mentioned — maybe they had more challenging orders. We always buy what is readily available in the case or shelves. They have free samples out on the counter, a nice touch.

I live outside of Buffalo New York and for the last 15 years I have sent my Mother Josh Early chocolates, she lives in Bethlehem PA. The quality is second to none. After a write this review I will be sending my Mother another box and my Son-in-law who lives in Knoxville TN, for their Birthday. I was reading a review where the individual was complaining of the price, listen up, you get what you pay for. I have always received great! customer service over the phone and will continue to be a customer.

The employees here are RUDE and are very uneducated. They are unable to answer a simple question such as «what is the best chocolate for melting» instead I got a dirty look and was told this is not baking chocolate… found the chocolate wafers on my own…

I once gave Josh Early an absolutely terrible review due to a horrible service experience. To be fair, I’d like to now give a positive review after receiving exceptional service at the Tilghman ST location. Went on a Saturday evening and the attendant was very helpful, even explaining what goes into the different types of chocolates we were looking at buying(and even got to taste a few samples!). Ended up buying a variety of truffles and was not disappointed at all. Absolutely fantastic and fresh tasting and blew away anything I’ve had from Gertrude Hawk or Godiva. Will definitely go again!

Josh Early is fantastic chocolate, no, it isn’t a cheap box of crap you get from Walmart for someone as a «Valentine’s day gift». It is expensive, however, very tasty. My personal favorite are the peanut butter cups, they are the best that I have tasted and am sure to buy them each time. The usually have a few selections out for tasting including a nonpareils orb thing near the register. Check on the tops of the glass cases for other flavors to taste. Best bets: Peanut butter cups Nonpareils Chocolate covered peanuts

My family has been buying our candy at Josh Early’s for years. My wife and kids love the milk chocolate butter creams. I always favored the milk chocolate covered brazil nuts. I only wish they had a bigger selection of sugar free chocolates. A chocolate lovers paradise.

Received a gift of sugar free chocolates. Sorry Josh Early, but they were terrible. The thin chocolate wafers had no chocolate taste, and left a waxy, strange aftertaste. I had to tell the person who gifted them to me, so she would not buy them for me again. Russell Stover sugar free is still #1 for me.

I have written Josh Early Candy off. I tried several times to purchase items from them and have received horrible customer service each and every time… One year for my daughter Strawberry Shortcake birthday party I called to see if they could make me some chocolate covered strawberries for the adults and was treated as if I asked for a kidney or a pint of blood. I am totally a person who buys local but in this case I refuse to spend one penny at this place.

I’m a chocolate lover. Particularly dark chocolate. I have my favorites, and most of those are from Europe or the San Francisco Area. But if you want good local chocolate, Josh Early does it right. Try the Dark Chocolate Nonpariels, or the Extra Dark Nonpariels… excellent. The dark chocolate almond bark is also one of my favorites. I think Josh Early is better than most of the other chocolate shops in NE Pa. But I wish they would add a dark chocolate molasses chip to there offering. A little dark chocolate and red wine everyday is good for a happy life!

Yum yum! Great selection of chocolates. I love the dark salted caramel chocolates better than Godiva. Have gift sets or buy by the bag or box.

Delicious milk chocolate covered pretzels and nonpareils! They are on the more expensive side as far as chocolate goes, but it sure is tasty! The reason they didn’t get 5 stars is because apparently they don’t have gift wrap? This confuses me because I think they should as a chocolate store, but my sales representative was snippy about it when I asked if they did. I was buying $ 35 worth of pretzels, so I expected a nice bag or something, but clearly that’s not the case.

If you are a chocolate slut, you have found THE mecca of chocolate for the $$$. This place is just absolutely freaking addictive. I come from the city of Russell Stover’s and I am fortunate to have a ton of their chocolate outlets nearby. But I do on the other hand thank the good lord I live far far away from this place. I am NOT a dessert person by any stretch of the means. .. .. . But their dark chocolate pecan turtles are gold in food form. I could very well blow a paycheck in here buying stuff.(The comment I wanted to type here was too kinky… sigh) I can’t even think while writing this review really. just a charming place. I did also appreciate the kindness and attention of the staff. We were not rushed and the lady behind the counter offered to let us try anything in the store. I di think a ton of their chocolate is expensive, but when you compare the quality for the price, it’s really unmatched. Don’t drive by Allentown without coming here.

I adore this little shop located right off of Tilghman street. I’ve been here multiple times with a bunch of my friends and it has just that right amount of chocolate smell: enough to make you want to buy but not enough to make you want to barf. The reason I’m giving this four out of five stars is for organization. I seem to get lost in the boxes of chocolate a lot. And I thought it was just me but after looking around, I can definitely tell that a lot of things are out of order, making it seem as though they have a very careless staff just throwing samples here and there haphazardly. But all in all, I love this place and will continue to shop here as long as I’m in town.

Just wow! First impression was great. I experienced the chocolates here at a local winery and was in love. I was already planning on coming here so it just made the anticipation even greater. When I walked in, it was chocolate and candy overload(in a good way). The ladies were super pleasant and willing to answer any questions and offer samples with a smile. In the back you could see them making some delicious treats. I bought some father’s day watermelon coconut strips and dark chocolate nonpereils(both my stepfather’s favorite) and some peanut butter cups and vanilla caramels in milk and dark chocolate for my mom’s birthday. Let’s just say my stepfather ate his treats WAY too quickly. I would definitely make this a part of my trip next time I was in the area. Side note: I was coming in from Philly on a hot day. I wasn’t leaving until the evening and since their chocolates do not contain preservatives I was worried about everything making it home. I bought a bag of ice and kept everything in a cooler… and all the deliciousness made it home just fine :-)

The best chocolate candy in Pennsylvania and probably other states, too. Their candy is made on the premises from all natural products and no wax is added as preservative so all that wonderful natural flavor shines through. I have to shamefully admit, I am addicted to this candy!

We visited the Josh Early Candies store after seeing the billboard on I-78 Eastbound. We ended up getting a 17oz Gold Gift Box for 19.50 as well as some small candies for our daughter. They have a nice selection of milk chocolate, dark choloclate, and chocolate covered everything(marshmellows, nuts, pretzels, chips, etc) Although Im not a huge chocolate fan, I still had fun, as soon as you walk in the door, the smells catch your attention! The good news: They believe in samples!
