Las Palmas Restaurant

I’m working in the downtown for the summer and have visited many of the lunch spots around Hamilton Street. This is the best. It’s a great atmosphere, friendly people, great food, and generous portions. I’ve had breakfast, soup, and the lunch specials and all were great. I definitely recommend checking this place out.

When relocating to a new city, especially one with strong Hispanic roots, it is imperative to locate and identify your finest, «locals-​only» Spanish joints. One of those necessary components of said joint is a strong Cuban sandwich.
This being said, Las Palmas blows their competition out of the water with their Cuban. The sandwich was plated at nearly 10″ in length with complimentary french fries, all for a mere $ 5. The sandwich was a perfect exhibition of a Cuban done right. The bread was hot and fresh, the meat was strong in flavor, and the cheese was melted to perfection. The flavor combination of mustard and pickles is a staple that Palmas has mastered.
The location is super convenient, steps from Center City. Plenty of parking. The environment of Palmas is crammed and out-​dated but in the best possible way. Tons of charm and a great staff to accompany quality eats. Highly recommended.
