Leader of the Pack Canine Institute

I own a photographic company for pets, and have previously been a dog trainer. We work with Leader of the pack in a professional relationship.
Throughout the past few years I can honestly say that the staff at Leader of the Pack are very skilled, sociable and incredible with dogs. They have a high degree of knowledge, and work intensely hard for their customers and family. When the day comes that I need boarding for an animal, LOPCI will be there, and are my first choice.

I am a veterinary professional (RVNurse) who is disabled. I have a Standard Poodle who is my Service Dog. I can not live independently without this dog. Therefore, I am extremely careful and fussy about where I might take him to get some time away from me and be able to socialize with other dogs.
I reviewed and looked at all the available places within a 30 miles radius of Allentown. I made an appointment and took a tour of LOPCI. I am very impressed. Things that I consider of great importance, this facility provides.
1. It is spacious and clean
2. All dogs are screened to assess their behavior and needs.
3. All dogs are required to have up-​to-​date vaccines and negative fecals.
4. Their in-​house food for boarders is Fromm, a high quality grain free kibble.
5. There is an ample staff to dog ratio.
6. The staff is professional, courteous and well-​trained.
The most important thing, however, is that my dog’s behavior tells me that he has a great time. I recommend this facility without reservation.

We routinely board our two Boston Terriers here whenever we’re out of town.
A lot of kennels leave your dog in a crate, and let them out to play with the other dogs for an hour or two each day (not unlike the treatment of anybody in our penal system). They’ll even have the nerve to charge you more for «extra» play time as if it costs them anything to do; it just feels like a tactic in a hostage negotiation.
Not this place. All the dogs get to play with each other all the time as part of the reasonable $ 35 per dog per day rate. They separate the dogs based on size/​demeanor (for obvious reasons) and will crate any dogs who aren’t fixed or aggressive (again, for obvious reasons).
Just in case you still don’t trust this set-​up, you’re free to watch them on a live webcam (which is also included in the rate, without up-​charge).
The best benefit of boarding your dogs here: they are beyond exhausted when you pick them up; needing a day or two to recover, which is convenient because you’re are usually recovering as well from your own weekend getaway.

I haven’t tried any other Doggie Daycare, but Leader Of The Pack was organized and friendly.
The owners were NOT hesitant to spend time with me to help me through my dogs separation anxiety

I have been in PA for exactly four weeks today. This place has saved my life. I am a devoted dog parent of a 1 year old Lab/​Hound mix who LOVES to play and I try to get her enough exercise so she remains a sweet angel. But I cannot walk her enough to tire her and the nearest dog park is 30 minutes away. When it rains or I don’t have enough time to get to the park, I drop her here for a few hours or all day, and for a reasonable fee ($ 18-​$ 24) I get a tired, well-​behaved dog at night to enjoy.
The staff are very friendly young kids and the owner is nearly always around. This is not one of those «lets franchise a dog business even though we know nothing about dogs» places where no humans are present and the conditions are squalid. (I’ve seen them!) LOPCI has cameras so you can check in on your pups and there are always people monitoring them. The owner is a certified, legitimate, trained canine professional.
All dogs require up-​to-​date shots, etc., and a behavior/​temperament test to attend.
They also board dogs. I will be using that service later this month but haven’t done so yet. I have had them groom my dog, too, and that was great.

Excellent place to take your pooch! I stumbled upon them when we rescued our beloved, Buddha. He started puppy kindergarten and loved the puppy playtime… oh, and he learned some things too. He has been back for the adult basic obedience too. Lisa is an excellent trainer! Buddha has used the daycare and boarding services as well and we’ve been very pleased with these as well. It’s evident that these folks really have a true Passion for the dogs. Buddha will definitely continue going!
