Super 8 Allentown

I set up a room for my employee and when he got there, the person told him they had given away his room! Isn’t that illegal?!

This hotel is very nice. Super clean and the staff is very friendly. There are a lot of restaurants and stores nearby. I would highly recommend.

Pluses: Efficient check-​in, clean room. Good bath/​shower fixtures (although the bathroom is so small the doorstop was the shower curtain rod). The room has a microwave and fridge, both of which work.
Minus: NOISE. Lots of it. I think the Irish Step Dancing Convention was being held in the room above, the Hearing Impaired TV Fan Club in the room next door, the Loud Talkers of America in the hall and the We Don’t Believe In Mufflers club in the parking lot. On top of that, the heating unit proudly displayed its 747 Sound-​Alike Award. Seriously, the noise was so bad that I woke up several times to check that there wasn’t someone or something in the room. If you plan to sleep here, bring earplugs.
Another minus: Wifi. It worked okay with my laptop, but was now-you-see-it-now-you-don’t with an iPad and not at all with an iPhone. It also wouldn’t support VPN for any amount of time. Truly awful.
Overall, better than expected for a budget motel but there are lots better places in the area.

We had a clean room. Check in was quick and friendly. Only negative comment is the sound of the outside door when people came and went, get a room away from outside door if you want quiet.

Horrible. The place smelled like stale cigarettes, it was quite dirty. The lights by the bed were blown out. For $ 150 I expected so much better. There is a washing machine and dryer but that was filthy as well. The shower took a good 10 minutes to get hot water going. While waiting for hot water, took notice of the mold and mildew on the walls and how dirty the door was. There were stains on the carpet. I usually read reviews on Unilocal first but this was the only hotel in the area with a room available so we took it. Never again!!! If I could, I’d give a negative 5 stars. I could go on as there was nothing good about this place.

Absolutely terrible hotel! The rooms were filthy, the whole hotel smelled like stale cigarettes, the walls were disgusting, the lampshades were broken, the floors weren’t vacuumed, the heater/​air conditioner had cigarette butts stuffed inside (a «non smoking» room!), the bathroom had mold in and around the shower, the remote had gross crusty stuff in between the buttons, there was trash sitting out in the hallway, there wasn’t a single employee in sight, let alone a chamber maid, I could really go on and on about how FILTHY this place was, but I’ll stop there. I would NEVER recommend staying at this location and it deterred me from ever staying at a Super 8 again. Was looking forward to a great Valentine’s Day at the Sands Casino, but staying here ruined it for me.

So gross. Complete craphole. I would rather sleep in my truck. Yuck yuck yuck! Continental breakfast bread was MOLDY and I clorox wiped the toilet before I sat down to pee. Would not recommend even for a one night stand after meeting some loser at a bar…

I agree with the other reviews. My family was in town for a funeral, we each got a room there, we know Super8 isn’t fancy, but we didn’t expect it to be a flop house for derelicts and drug dealers, and to have Spanish TV blaring from neighboring rooms, as if the walls weren’t even there. The room itself was satisfactory. But the owners clearly know what this place is about, and they’re ok with it. I even saw a cop walk through the halls and he told me it wasn’t a good place to stay and they are there a lot. Avoid this place.

This hotel is not a safe place to stay. Go north on Airport Rd, and look for the Scottish Inn and Suites or the Red Roof Inn if you don’t have much money. It’s not worth risking your health by staying here.

Run, don’t walk away from this place. Smells bad and was filthy.
Run down part of town didn’t look safe to park.
We left after trying 2 different rooms. The AC was broken
during a heat wave and the window was broken on
the first floor.
