Wow this is a hard review to do ! Ok first off this place is popular so you will have a wait if you come at dinner time, they have a waiting area in their foyer with plenty of seats. There were like 3 other sets of diners before us, but our wait was only like 10 min, so it moved pretty fast. They are know for their burgers, their think sliced onion rings and fries with crab meat and cheese, but their menu is pretty big. All kinds of sandwiches, stirfries, steaks, you name it. We got the onion rings as a starter, you get a HUGE plate of them and they look amazing but have ABSOLUTELY no taste whatsoever !!! The worst I have ever had. Their signature burger comes with onions and mushrooms inside the burger, but they have a bacon blue cheese burger and I can’t say no to that when I see it so go it. For $ 7.25 you get a huge burger and they cook it how you want it. My burger was perfectly cooked, lots of blue cheese sauce and 2 slices of bacon, with lettuce tomato and pickles on the side, oh yeah and some chips that tasted like Absolutely nothing. The burger was solid, I really enjoyed it, it didn’t seem like it was seasoned at all but cause of the blue cheese dressing it tasted good and cause it was cooked right. It came on a Kaiser bun and the bun was soft and just fell apart, they really need to do better with the buns, I saw other burgers with regular buns and they didn’t look all that special either. The service is really really good, it is a family run place and they really care a lot for the customers. I am giving a 4 star for my burger, even though the bun wasn’t so good, the burger was, and cause the service was spot on. Cause the onion rings and chips tasted like nothing and I saw there were other reviews that say the same thing… I wonder what other things on their menu have no taste. I would like to give the them the benefit of the doubt and come in a few more times to try more things cause they place is popular and they try hard but 3 stars for my meal.

I don’t understand why this place is so popular, I have been twice and both times very disappointed. The hamburgers are awful, poor quality meat cooked over low heat and the onion strings are tasteless and all batter.

Seriously delicious Wert’s original cheeseburger stuffed with mushrooms and soft onions! You can have your burger cooked however you want and it will be perfectly cooked! How about those famous onion strings! Please order it while you wait for your burger! The only place I will eat onion rings/strings! Great local establishment!

Came with a friend for a nice lunch. We have never been here before. The burgers, fries, and onion rings looked very good on Unilocal. To my dismay, everything I tried was almost tasteless. Very bland, plain Jane in flavor. The onion straws and fries could’ve been fried pieces of paper for all I know. The burger was decent, not good enough to save the rest of the meal. I think I would’ve been better off walking into Wert’s old neighbor, Mrs. Kleinfelter’s house and asked her for lunch. Would’ve been free, full of flavor, and made with love. I’m leaving here today empty in palette, stomach, wallet, and pride.

Small little restaurant gem hidden on a side street in Allentown. Stopped by today after attending an event at the fairground complex. Had a good burger. It was the onion ring burger. Also the brownie with ice cream on top for dessert was tasty. The atmosphere was comfortable.

What a cool, quaint little place. Very«mom and pop» feel type restaurant, but the food is awesome. We had burgers and(after reading lots of other reviews) tried the white birch beer. It was all great. The staff was so friendly; our waitress was particularity nice and gave my son free ice cream for his birthday. They even had butternut squash soup as a seasonal option, which you can’t find everywhere, and it was so yummy.

I’ve visited twice, both times on very busy Fridays. Since I was with one other person we opted to sit at the bar and avoided the 15 minute wait. Service is excellent despite the place being packed. Drinks are measured — very good. The food I have eaten is outstanding and everything I saw served looked delicious. The special fries are fun. If you want a good quick delicious meal, with a good bar, this is an excellent choice.

Wart’s was chosen because a larger burger with a traditional Eastern U.S. Flavor was desired. It’s easy to park and leave at a well paced dining time(50 minutes). Wert’s Food: Great Wert’s Staff: Great Restaurant: Classic Type: Burger Diner

Fine food at a sensible price makes this a favorite of many; The only downside is that you almost always have to wait if you visit during prime time. They are not open for breakfast and are mostly a lunch place. Nothing fancy, but dependably good food and atmosphere

So burgers, yes. Werts fries, yes. Dessert? Big big yes. Any side at all they serve yes. Soups are a yes. Been frequenting them lately and they do not ever disappoint. Food is always solid, service always great. Real deal people.

Excellent food, service and value. «Road Food» recommended that we stop here. Order the Wert’s Cheeseburger with onion rings – a must. Best cheeseburger I have had in decades. Follow their recommendations and top it off with Velveta Cheese. For another new experience, try the White Birch Beer which looks like a Lager and tastes like a root beer. Value: you can’t beat the Monday burger special with the onion rings and chocolate cake for $ 9.50. Don’t pass by this place!

We stopped at Wert’s on our drive to Syracuse from Virginia. It’s a good halfway point and not far from the highway. On Mondays, they have a burger special that includes onion rings and chocolate cake for $ 9.50. What a steal! We tried the Wert’s cheeseburger and the Phil burger — easily one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The onion rings are thin and crisp, and the pickles are thick and crisp. The chocolate cake was not overly sweet and balanced perfectly with the sugary frosting. We’ll definitely keep this place in our bookmarks!

My first visit and will definitely be back! Ordered the Monday Special, included my choice of burger, onion rings, and chocolate cake. A Great burger! Onion rings are nice and crisp, not greasy. Small slice of cake, but good. A nice family owned café/diner.

I’ve lived near this place for a long time and had no idea about it until I saw it on Unilocal. If you’re not looking for it, you probably wouldn’t see it. I went today to check it out. It’s basically a diner with better food(I’m not a fan of diners). There’s a bar with alcohol there. I got the feeling that everyone there had been coming here since the 60s. The décor isn’t completely retro, but it does have the feel that the place, itself, has been around a while. That’s a good thing, of course. The service was excellent and very friendly. I ordered the onion ring burger(7.50) which comes with chips and a pickle. All the lunch items were about in that price range. They also have a lunch special that comes with a little more. My burger was great and cooked perfectly. Most of the burgers come with velveeta which I though was odd, but it works out well. It’s a nice place and a pretty good find. I’d definitely return.

Wert’s is my favorite burger joint in the Valley! I almost always order Phil’s or Tina’s burger and dessert. The desserts are just delicious. My favorite is the chocolate cake with white icing, although they have the same cake with peanut butter icing that is also pretty amazing if you love peanut butter(I’m not a big fan of PB). The place is usually packed in the evenings. The service is almost always friendly… and the crowds consist of families and 55+

Wow! Really fresh tasting HUGE burgers. I normally like strong seasoning on burgers but these are so good and so fresh and so REAL that you don’t miss the seasoning. These are traditional grilled burgers, salt and pepper only. Yum! We also got the special fries which are topped with crab and cheese. They were just ok but since I spend most of my summer in Delaware I think I am spoiled to beach crab. The service is super attentive and friendly! I really feel like I am wanted as a customer which is not the norm for most places nowadays! I really loved this place and I will definitely be going back.
