I’ve passed the place a few times but on off hours until recently. We stopped by for lunch. The café is in a house. You enter via a walkway through an eclectic garden of relics and figures. We passed a group of ladies on the way up the ramp who found conversation with us very easily. You enter into a small foyer then into the café. Tables of different styles were arranged in two rooms, and the kitchen was just beyond the larger room, separated by swinging doors similar to that of a saloon of the old west. The rooms are decorated in the same eclectic manner with plenty of items to capture one’s interest. But the food; the food was delicious! We had a roast beef panini and a roast beef sandwich and some unsweetened Peach Roibus tea. All were fantastic! A fella sitting near us proclaimed«this is the best burger I ever had!» I guess we’ll check out the hamburgers next time. Great food not pricey. Very homey and hospitable. A great find. A great choice.

Interesting little quaint café in the middle of nowhere in NJ?! Yeah it exists. Good food. Good atmosphere but little off the beaten path.

I went there yesterday for lunch and it was the best! One of the specials was Garlic Grilled Shrimp Pizza. I absolutely loved it! The shrimp was well cooked and the pizza crust was delicious. Our server was knowledgeble about the menu items and we were able to enjoy lunch and still get back to work on time. I can’t wait to go back.

I love Helen’s Café. You should go there this Saturday morning and order the creamed dried beef. Then order the chocolate chip pancakes for the kids. They make you feel like you have a standing invitation to eat breakfast at their house, like a very good friend you have known since gradeschool. Sunday is very busy – I have started to go on Saturday. Not serving brunch yet – they close at 11:30 am, but soon. Have patience – good things come to those who wait!
