Ordered a pizza and a salad for delivery at 11:15AM. I’m located on the same road just a few blocks away. Delivered it at 1:10PM and it was cold and soggy. Aside from the duration, temperature, and consistency, the flavor is just meh. I’m from out of town, so maybe Boston just doesn’t know how to sling a good pie.

Easily the best pizza in Allston! Fresh ingredients and a great waitstaff. Can’t stress enough how fresh everything always is. My husband and I love coming here and sitting outside and enjoying the food and wine/beer.

We went in here with a Groupon for lunch and really enjoyed it. It’s a large restaurant with glass windows and a very open feel to it. There’s a lot of parking which is really convenient too. All the food we had was good. The pasta seemed a bit overpriced, but that wraps and panini’s are reasonable. I think this is a really great lunch spot– not sure I’d want to come here for dinner though. Staff was friendly and service was really good!

This is not specifically a comment on the food, which is totally average. I work a few doors down from this location, have ordered lunch in advance three times(twice via phone and once online) and all three times there have been issues. An online order for several pizzas was«lost.» Today I was told that they«forgot to push send» on our order and I had to sit and wait(no free beverage offered or anything else) while they started from scratch. I won’t be back again.

Well… all I can say is who delivers burnt wings not crispy but completely burnt. Unacceptable. Also the woman who took my order over the phone was rude.

The food is delicious, intentionally sourced, and manages to get a good dose of healthy vegetables too! The staff are always very friendly and helpful. My favorite is the«roasted garden» pizza. The salads are substantial as well, not some flimsy sprinkling of greens.

Friday lunch. We wanted something healthy so went for the salads. I’m a vegetarian but looked on the website to confirm they had plenty of veg options. They clearly listed roasted tofu as an add-in option but when we ordered we were told that they didn’t have it any more. I explained that I had double checked the web menu before coming over to confirm this and so was a bit disappointed. Nothing in resonse. The salads were a big Yuck anyway but the wait staff’s total lack of interest was the biggest loser. I didn’t go there looking for a free lunch but when someone takes the time to visit your website to ensure their dietary needs will be met, and you fall short of that, the least you can do is express some kind of sincere apology(oh, and a free ice t might help too).

The pizza is good but when I say it was some of the worst, slowest service I’ve ever received, I’m not exaggerating. Dirty tables everywhere. Constantly needed to ask for service. When the food came we didn’t have plates or silverware. Empty drinks galore. Place sucked.

Went here in a small group for dinner. I always get weary about the quality of the food when a place is nearly empty, but we had a good experience overall. The crust on the pizza was much better than I expected and they had several options to choose from(white, whole wheat, and multigrain); we got the Divine Goddess on multigrain — tasted fresh and delicious. You could select type of crust for your stromboli, too. Food did take a bit of time to come out, but clearly was made to order. Our waiter was pretty nice as well, though did not know what Italian seasoning was lol! We had a good time, saved money with a Groupon, and will likely come back. I noticed a lot of the reviews on here are for the delivery portion of the restaurant service. I generally tend to shy away from ordering delivery from pizza places. Depending on how they store the pizza during delivery, it could very well wind up soggy, which is why Domino’s seems to be so popular for delivery service. I really enjoyed dinner at Stone Hearth!

This is one of our go to spots for pizza in the area. Really enjoy the sausage and banana pepper pizza. They have whole wheat crust and gluten free options which is great too. If you eat in they also have some great beer choices. During the summer the patio outside is a nice spot and the service is quite good. Will continue to stop by for pizza whether it is take out or eat in.

Stone Hearth Pizza hit the spot on a rainy Saturday afternoon in November, after driving into town from Albany, NY. When we arrived for lunch at about 1pm, the shop was empty aside from a couple of waitresses and a cook. There is plenty of seating available at Stone Hearth, so arriving with a larger party would likely be accommodated easily. We began our lunch with a large order of the Meatball Poppers. These tiny meatballs were served in a dish with sauce and shaved parmesan. The sauce was good and fresh, evidenced by the fine tomato pulp found throughout the dish. The meatballs themselves were pretty good. I’m unsure of the meat mixture used, but I definitely got a distinct pork flavor alongside the beef. This dish came with two slices of hearty Italian bread and was a nice start to the meal. We followed this up by ordering a fantastic pie, opting for a thin multigrain crust. The pizza came topped with banana peppers, scallions, a mozzarella/provolone blend, ricotta, and house-made sausage. I found the flavors of the pie to be balanced, something I was not expecting, considering the number of toppings that it came with. The banana peppers added a nice, almost stringent, element to the otherwise savory pie. After eating a pie like this, I would almost expect to walk out feeling over-the-top full, but I didn’t here. No, it’s not because I exercised any form of restraint while eating, rather the offerings weren’t enormous and overloaded with junk. All killer, no filler. The price point for the meal was completely reasonable. I would have every reason to seek out Stone Hearth Pizza the next time I’m in town.

I have only been to Boston twice and both times I’ve been to Stone Hearth. The Garden pizza is unforgettably delicious!

I hit this place up on the way home from a long day of running errands and I was hungry, so I stopped in! I remember thinking… «this place BETTER be good!» I heard a lot about it and hoped it lived up to the hype… I was too hungry to make gourmet flavor decision so I grabbed 2 slices of cheese pizza and a lemon lime soda for $ 6. They don’t have coke or Pepsi brands… which is nice. The soda definitely tasted fresh, crisp and clean! I have to say… love at first bite with that pizza! I was really thankful too! Perfectly thin, with a nice crispy/chewy crust!!! I will definitely be back or at least order delivery! I usually try to take pics, but I was on the go and starving so, it just got devoured… but they were standard size slices of heaven. Yum!

The first time I ordered from this place I was really excited to finally find a place in my neighborhood that makes decent gluten free pizza. With that said the last couple of times I’ve ordered the pizza has been terrible. The crust is burnt and the middle is soggy. There is so much red sauce and barely any cheese. Maybe 6 pieces of cheese if you’re lucky. The toppings are undercooked and have obviously just been thrown on with no care for balance. Needless to say, I will not be ordering anymore. Bummer, no one else around makes GF pizza.

We stopped in for dinner and the place was packed! I was pleased to see that they support local organic fresh food. Owen, our server, was awesome! We ordered the Presto Pesto Panini(and pesto was too heavy and prosciutto should have been cut thinner). I had the Stromboli with chicken spinach sun-dried tomato and goat cheese. It was delicious along with the spicy sauce. Also order the appetizer meatball poppers quite tasty(although not as hot as I would’ve thought they would’ve been when I saw the steam coming off the bowl) I would definitely come back again!

I’ve only had one pizza from there, but it was out of bounds! After reading other reviews, I decided on the prosciutto and pineapple on whole wheat. The dough was perfect consistency, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The sauce has that homemade taste with just the right amount on the pie. Prosciutto was plentiful, big triangles of pineapple and shreds of scallions sprinkled on top. A+, can’t wait to dine in and try another!

I had very little expectation from this place when I first went here but it has quickly become one of my go-to spots in the area. The pizzas are always great, decent beers, sandwiches, etc. but the thing that really stands out here are the employees. Everyone that I’ve interacted with here has been nothing but an absolute pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend checking this place out!

When in town for a football or hockey game at Harvard this is the perfect place to kill at little time before or after a sporting event. Only minutes from the athletic facilities there’s free parking on site, which is a huge plus in this area. This is a table side service kind of a place and they make the pizza in the oven as ordered. It’s not the city’s best pizza, but it sure won’t disappoint you either. They also have fresh, quality salads, good soup and best of all, everything is reasonably priced.

The last time I went to Stone Hearth after a game, there were probably 12 – 15 people in my group. That’s a big group, and I know that is not fun to deal with as a server. In fact, our server was completely awesome, relaxed, upbeat, and friendly. He even *volunteered* to split our check up however we wanted it. I couldn’t have been more impressed with our server. The problem was not with him, it was with the horrible, no good, very bad hostess. The hostess is the face of the organization, the person who greets visitors and makes them feel welcome and maybe even excited about their upcoming dining experience. When we arrived, the horrible, no good, very bad hostess gave us a look of death, and then we had this exchange: HNGVB Hostess: «Uhh, can I help you?» Us: «Yes, we’d like to get some food and drinks!» HNGVB Hostess:“Uhhhh, are you going to eat here?“ Us: «Yes, please!» HNGVB Hostess: LONGSIGH, followed by a sarcastic«Greeeaaaattt» while rolling her eyes and stomping toward the menus. We almost walked out of the *totally empty* restaurant because if this childish and rude«greeting.» The meal was just as good as it usually is. I love the beer list, love that they carry Downeast Cider, and I love that they use fresh, local ingredients. And the food just plain tastes good. But if that hostess pulls that shit next time, my friends and I will take our appetites and wallets elsewhere. I’m pretty sure Stone Hearth would rather sell $ 300+ of food and drinks than $ 0, which is what they would have done if we walked out like we probably should have.

For take-out: Hot Pressed Paninis are fresh made and come in White or Whole Wheat Served with housemade crisps! ROASTEDVEGGIE $ 7.25 Roasted eggplant, zucchini, summer squash, scallions, fresh basil, mozzarella/provolone blend and garlic tomato sauce All our pastas feature a Penne Rigate and are served with housemade organic focaccia bread PASTAWITHCREAMYVODKASAUCE $ 11.50 Housemade creamy vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and finished with fresh basil Add $ 3 for one below Housemade Meatballs Housemade Sausage Oven Roasted Chicken February Specials Eggplant Paahm $ 12.50 Roasted eggplant atop linguini noodles, with chunky tomato and bechamel sauces & parmesan cheese Reactions: Pathetic! — The pasta special consisted of 3 slices of eggplant on top of a thin layer of linguini. Pasta is cheap. But not cheap enough? Salty — the family thought everything was too salty That’s generous? — I was told that the add on chicken $ 3 was a generous portion; 6 slices making up perhaps half a breast of white chicken meat is considered generous? Both pastas were on the soft side of al dente. The vodka sauce had an unexpected kick. Only one small piece of focaccia was provided — perhaps the pasta special did not come with? Wait, where’s the housemade crisps that were supposed to come with the panini??? Other stuff: Service was pleasant. A parking lot was available, which made stopping here convenient. Level Up and the Belly Card are both accepted. 2 stars *** 3⁄2015 *** Picked up a tiramisu $ 6 on the way home. It was a short piece, two lady fingers high, with a low cream to cake ratio, but it got my mom’s approval for being light on both the alcohol and sugar. 3 stars.
