Hixton / Alma Center KOA

Koa is a standard for quality camping. These people here exemplify that! Always über clean and the people are all friendly and helpful. The campsites are gravel with grass and firepits. Some are farther away for privacy or groups and even the close ones are great. I have been here three times in the last year. We love it. The pool is heated all year and the kids love it!
They do wagon rides for the kids and many many activities for the families.
Get off of the interstate and stop here. Drive out of your way to enjoy a great stay with clean spots!!!

We love staying at this KOA! We have camped here every year for the last seven, the last 4 with friends with children. The staff is always friendly, the bathrooms impeccably clean (and always fresh cut flowers daily) and the other campers, whether in tents or RVs are also very friendly. Lots of activities for young and old. There is a fishing pond, a Jumping Pillow, the pool, volleyball court, a playground, and walking the trails in the woods and prairie, just to mention a few. There is also the Saturday Ice Cream Social and the Sunday morning pancake breakfast (Do NOT pass up the homemade plum jam they serve! It should be sold.). The owners, Donna and Jim, are always pleasant and the entire campground has many wonderful perennial gardens to enjoy.
Besides all of these great things, they have bat houses — and we’ve always seen bats catching mosquitos at night, recycling receptacles and know the area around them.
