Love the smoked taste. I am an okra head and the waffle fries are yummy. Anything fried is dropped fresh upon order and the sauce is perfect to me. We eat here all the time. Owner/management is great, everyone is always courteous. It is our neighborhood bbq spot.

I don’t know how this place is still in business. I don’t usually write bad reviews but want to warn other people so that they don’t waste their time or money. We ordered ribs, brisket, beans, cole slaw and a cookie. The only edible item was the beans(they taste like canned Bushes baked beans). I don’t know how they managed to ruin or sell an inedible chocolate cookie. ALL of the food was under seasoned, fatty and sub par. It’s as if no one cares. Extremely disappointed and still hungry.

We placed a large to go order for our office. The order was received incorrect. We called to request the order be corrected, and the manger(Robbie) was extremely rude and wouldn’t correct it saying they don’t offer the toppings listed on their store menu. When I asked for a supervisor or corporate number he got very agitated and would only give me his wife’s name??? We had order three loaded baked potatoes and they were missing toppings that were included on the store’s menu. One was not even a whole potato. It was just a half. What a waste of money. Definitely sticking to Jason’s Deli next time… Customer service here is sub-par.

This place is okay. I decided to try it because my coworkers recommended I try this place. A little expensive for $ 10 – 12 for lunch portion but you get free ice cream, no wait and fast food. Time is money and lunch break time is precious! I honestly dont like the food quality or flavor but the sweet tea is decent, customer service is good, and no wait. Therefore I give 3 stars for overall.

I was not very impressed with this restaurant. We came here on a weeknight and it was empty. Since it was my first time here, I was hoping the guy behind the counter could give me some pointers and recommendations. He really had nothing to say. In fact, after asking about the side salad, he responded«the salad is a normal salad». I ordered the Brisket, but didn’t know it came sliced or chopped, nor did the employee tell me. I would’ve liked it chopped. He ended up slicing it and the portion was so small and fatty looking. I took one look and asked for something else before purchasing it or taking it off the counter. I ordered the Pulled pork instead. It was more normal looking but still a small portion. The sides I ordered were the fried okra and BBQ beans. I watched them pour the beans right out of the bag and into the large bin to scoop the beans out. The okra freshly came out of the fryer(already fried and frozen). I was pretty disappointed with this restaurant and probably won’t be back.

I received a voice message from the manager at this location regarding my visit and review. I think there was some miscommunication. If someone from corporate left a message on my review requesting my contact information, I think it would have been prudent for them to inform me that someone from the location would contact me or offer to me instructions on what they can do to resolve my concern. But that is my conjecture. I returned the manager’s call, visited the location and received a one-meat place with two sides. This time, the cut of ribs was much better than before. I appreciate the manager’s contact and concession.

I ordered the salad with brisket to act like I’m being healthy. They only give you a choice of Cesar or ranch dressing so I made my own BBQ ranch by mixing in some spicy BBQ sauce. Yummy :) The brisket was juicy and tender with the right amount of fat.

I ate here today and I also have been to their Hwy 9 location and I think the food is better there than this location. Today I ordered beef brisket and had the two sides macaroni and cheese and coleslaw. The meat could’ve been more tender but it wasn’t tough and it had a good smoky flavor. I’ve been to Louie Mueller in Texas and it’s hard to top their beef brisket. The Mac and cheese was good and rich but the pasta was slightly overcooked(a bit mushy) but still decent though. The coleslaw was so good, chunky and slightly sweet, perfection! Even the roll was off the chain a yeast thick roll. I use sweet sauce it was all good and I will be back! Total around $ 10, not bad

I want to give MARIO a huge shoutout! I called Mario Friday, 11⁄07 to inquire about something I’d been craving. The inquiry — do you guys have any type of loaded french fry entrees on the menu. This was my first visit so I wasn’t familiar with the menu selections and didn’t have time to view them online. Mario said that the item wasn’t a menu staple BUT he’d make it for me. He not only made it, he knocked it out of the park. He made sure that I was satisfied with the dish and made sure I had all of the trimmings. It’s this type of service that creates return visits! Thanks Mario!

I wasn’t overly impressed with the service or food. I ordered the 1 meat combo with spicy cheddar sausage. It wasn’t at all what I had expected. It was sliced sausage that was basically completely dried out and cold by the time I got my drink and sauces. I tried the sweet sauce and Dickey’s original. I honestly couldn’t tell a single difference between them. Same flavor, same spice, same color, everything. I was the only person at the counter to order and I had to repeat my order twice to the meat order guy, and four times to the side order guy. I had to stand there for a bit before he’d give me my cup because he had started talking to someone behind me about an order. Then there was no sweet tea. It was 11:50 am. Prime lunch crowd. How do you run out of sweet tea? There was stuff all over the counter by the register. Just stuff. Empty tea canisters, some catering looking equipment. I can say the sides were really good. The mac and cheese was fresh tasting and the slaw had just the right amount of dressing for it to be yummy. I would come back when I was craving BBQ but it won’t be that often.

Went in for Tuesday rib special at 1pm. Was told they were out of ribs. Out of the special at 1pm? Place was empty too, should have been a clue. Horrible service, counter person just shrugged and giggled when I asked how they could be out of the daily special so early. Never again.

Decided to give this new location a type, stopped in around 6:00 pm, no one was there, which should have been a sign, ordered only a bbq sandwich, which took a while to get and once at the register, there was an older lady messing with the computer register, it appeared she had no idea on how to operate. I gave her my American Express card, which she began to swipe it, about 10 times, still trying to get the register to work, then she said to me ‘NOMONEY’, gave her a $ 5 dollar bill and she gave me back(9) dimes, the sandwich was $ 4.50, you figure it out. Never did she apologize or thank me, buy the way, she could barely speak english. I took the sandwich home and it was terrible, very dry and it appeared to be old meat. I will never return to this location, horrible food and service

The great bbq aroma and the décor of the place made me feel like I was back at DFW. I had the sliced brisket. I was impressed with how tender it was. Mac n cheese was really cheesy and tasty. also their fried okra was very good. it was well seasoned and fried just perfect. Their tea was perfect and the staff was courteous and helpful with the menu. I am really happy with the restaurant and will be going back. my tip to them is to serve meals with cornbread just to make the meal more authenttic.

A colleague and I made our first visit to this Dickey’s on a Tuesday at noon. It was very busy, which is to be expected, but they were grossly ill-equipped to handle this lunch rush. There was one man taking the initial meat order, one older woman in the veggie/expo spot, and two seemingly ‘newish’ young men sharing register/fry cook duties. The chopper, as I’ll call him, was loudly BARKING orders at the two young men the entire time we stood in line, and he continuously BANGEDASLOUDASHECOULD with his knife on the cutting board to chop the meat when ordered. I already had a headache before we walked in, and I almost didn’t make it through the whole line of CHOPCHOPCHOPCHOPCHOPPING before finally paying for my food. Meat guy continued to yell at the cash/cook boys the whole time — ordering them to «put in more fries and okra! and fill up the sweet tea! and«pull your head out of your ass!»(ok, not literally, but might as well have). There was nowhere to sit after we paid, but a kindly soul sitting alone at a 4-top let us sit with him while he finished his ice cream. Nice gesture, but unfortunately his table was located right in front of Screamy McChopperson. We finished our meals quickly,(which as a side note were just fine, the food was acceptable), and hurried to get our free ice cream(ice milk? ice substance?) to go. Bottom Line: Food was decent, price was reasonable. I might get food to go from there again, but I will never sit down and eat there again.

Good BBQ. I had the chopped brisket and pulled pork with baked beans and onion tanglers. The beans were very flavorful. I got alot of the fried onions with my order, they were good, nothing special. I like that they have the BBQ sauce in warmers that you can dish out yourself. They have a sweet, original, and hot and spicy kind. My least favorite was the hot and spicy, which is strange cause I love peppery BBQ sauce but this just didn’t do it for me. The sweet was fabulous on the pulled pork and the original went great on the chopped brisket. The roll that came with it was hum. it seemed a little limp would be the best way to describe it. I would go back again just to eat more of the meats.

If I had to describe Dickey’s in a single line I would say it was watered down but passable. Actually, by chain restaurant standards I could even go so far as to say it was good. The brisket was not as tender nor did it have as much smoke flavor as it should have, but overall not bad. The BBQ sauce, which for proper BBQ(smoked) should be unnecessary, was not quite as strong as I was expecting. However, perhaps the most disappointing part of the whole experience was the weak sweet tea. Just to clarify by weak I mean under brewed not under sweetened. All in, I would say given the relatively few decent restaurants in the area, this place rises just above the the bar. I appreciate the friendly staff, the fact that they let me sample the meat before committing, and that the onion tanglers were fried to order not ahead of time. A 1 meat plate(2 sides, roll, onions, pickles) and a drink will run you about $ 10.70(after tax), I am not sure it is worth that, but I will likely be back. If you do decide to come I might suggest coming closer to 11:30 than 12, there was quite a line developing by the time I left and this is not the fastest restaurant i have ever been to. I suspect after the business has been here a couple months the line will become less of an issue.
