Decided to stop in the mall and go to the Godiva and get my free chocolate of the month. I always get one birthday cake and one open oyster and the lady informed me today that they discontinued the birthday cake kind of sad about that, one of my favorite truffles. Sylvia was behind the counter she did a great job, very friendly, greeted me when I walked in the door and make sure I had everything I needed.

For the first time I can ever recall, Godiva sent me a $ 10 coupon for my birthday. You go in thinking, that will maybe get me three pieces of candy, but I was actuallyhit the jackpot, because they had some of their boxes of candy marked down to $ 9.99, so I was able to get a box of candy, and a birthday truffle for about $ 2. Never in my life have I spent $ 2 at Godiva. There was only one guy manning the store when we entered, it was right about closing times, so he was pleasant to deal with, but I could also tell, that he was ready to end the day. I can only imagine the pressure of working in a chocolate store all day. I’d be large as a house. Upper level of Northpoint Mall, on the Macy’s wing. 71 of 100

I am a fan of their chocolate — the truffles, cherries and strawberries are very good and well presented. But I must say, after coming here for years(OK, it’s really my husband coming and I am the lucky recipient), I’m not sure we’ll be coming back. When I tried to return a box where some of the pieces had white spots on them, the cashier wouldn’t do it. She said I had to have the receipt. Normally I’d understand that, but this was a gift and I come there fairly often. Really? Their margins are high enough to provide better service than that.
