I’m really surprised to see the negative reviews about Mezz after having a great experience with them! I, too, purchased an online coupon(a Travelzoo voucher, to be specific) for a 3.5 hour spa treatment. I had no problem at all calling to make an appointment and was shocked that they actually had dates and times(including Saturdays) within a couple weeks of when I was calling. The man I spoke with on the phone was extremely friendly and worked with me to find a good day for me. The spa is in a really charming old house near the«downtown» Alpharetta area. It’s a really cute little neighborhood. The waiting area is a little small, but was nice and warm with the«fire» going and I had champagne in my hand within just a couple of minutes. My first treatment was a paraffin hand dip. Pretty much like every other one I’ve had, except they have you use hand sanitizer before you put your grubby mitts in the paraffin. SOSMART! I’ve never been anywhere that did that before but, duh, it makes so much sense. Overall, this was exactly what you think it will be. My second treatment was a sugar scrub. I’ve had more intense scrubs where I thought my skin was literally being stripped off, and I’ve had less intense scrubs where I felt like someone was just putting lotion on me. This was kind of right in the middle. Felt good, made my skin soft, smelled yummy, and the massage therapist/esthetician who performed the service was super nice and personable. Sometimes these services can be a bit awkward, but she really made me feel comfortable. My third treatment was a massage. I’m just going to throw this tidbit out there, because, you know, I like to have as accurate and complete reviews as possible, the male massage therapist at Mezz(I believe his name is Zoe) is very attractive. Like, make-you-self-conscious-about-your-cellulite attractive, until 5 minutes in when you’re so relaxed you don’t really care about anything anymore. Ok, so, now that THAT’S out of the way, I went for a rather deep tissue massage. I like a good massage where you feel like you really got your ass kicked the next day. Zoe did an excellent job of this and my shoulders are still a bit tender. He will also give you a scalp massage that will change your life. Basically what I’m saying is, if you’re a guy looking for a SUPER deep massage to really get at your muscles, Zoe will fix you up. If you’re a lady looking for a male masseuse who is super professional, but also super hot, Zoe will fix you up. In between my massage and my facial/microdermabrasion, I had a little time to wait and my friend the masseuse made sure I had lots of cold water(a must post-massage) and some yummy hot mint tea. Finally, I had a facial and microdermabrasion with the lovely Ms. Alissa(sp?). She had also done my scrub, so I was happy to see her again! She really is the sweetest person ever. She also did a great job with my facial and microderm. Typically, I break out horribly after getting a facial, and she assured me with these products, I would not. 3 days later, I have not broken out! First time ever. So I’m super psyched about that. I just have beautiful, smooth skin. I actually purchased some of the skin care products they offer and am really glad I did since they seem to agree quite nicely with my sensitive/dry/oily skin. Overall, I really had a wonderful time at Mezz Spa. The people who work there are so sweet and really go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable and have a great experience. Although the spa is a good drive from my home in Vinings, I will definitely go back for any of these services I need again. It’s worth the drive!

I don’t give a lot of 4 stars out in the spa category but this is def a strong 4. I see mixed reviews and maybe service was off when they were busy but my experience was on a Saturday afternoon and was completely on point and service was grade A and myself and my pregnant friend were very happy with our appts. First off i got an automated reminder of my appt that morning. The location is a cozy warm house well decorated and spa like inside. The receptionist is warm and attentive and serves Tazo tea or water upon arrival. My deep tissue massage was one of the best I have ever had. She asked the right questions about my needs and focused on where I needed the most massaging. The pressure and attention to detail was great as well as the health and wellness advice. The only one thing I would say it needs is another bathroom as there is only the one.

We purchased a Groupon coupon for here and could never get a reservation. Even had a hard time getting them on the phone. I ended up getting a credit from Groupon.

Do NOT buy a gift certificate/coupon from a social marketing website like Groupon or Livingsocial. This place does not answer the phone. They do not return phone calls or respond to emails. They clearly have way over sold the amount of coupons they can satisfy. I’ve only been able to get a real person on the phone a few times only to be told they are booked solid for the next month and a half. I see they have recently listed yet another coupon on Livingsocial. This is absurd. I cannot review their services as I still have not been able to get in for an appointment in the 3 months I’ve had my gift coupon.

I’ve been to various spas and have received various massage treatments, but my experience at Mezz Spa is by far one of the best that I have ever experienced. Although my previous massages were reasonable, my masseuse Jennessa was exceptional! I would highly recommend this place & especially Jennessa.

I bought 3.5 hour spa packages for myself and my husband through a promotion this spa was running through . I guess you get what you pay for, because I was seriously underwhelmed by my experience here. In my opinion, this place is a «spa mill.» I think they were overwhelmed with the response they got to their Living Social promotion or something, because the spa technicians just felt like they were going through the motions. I received a full body Swedish massage, a facial, a paraffin hand treatment and a body scrub. The massage and facial were okay, but seriously not great. The body scrub was a total joke. This woman comes in, drips warm water on you with a dropper and then rubs some salt scrub on you. She doesn’t even rub it into your skin or anything, just wipes it on then leaves. It felt totally lazy and lame to me. The paraffin hand treatment did make my hands feel nice and soft. But I’m glad it was included as part of my spa package. I would never pay for something like that otherwise. You dip your hands into a crockpot full of melted wax. Then the technician slips saran wrap gloves over your hands and forewarms and puts mitts over them. You sit and wait for it to dry and then they pull it all off and your hands are nice and soft. But seriously, to pay someone for that? It requires no work on their part. You could do this yourself at home very easily. Not to mention, while I was sitting with the mitts on in this little alcove, I was right next to the main area where the technicians get supplies and prep and whatnot. There were three of them standing right outside the alcove shooting the breeze, laughing, talking, etc. I don’t really have an issue with them having a good time chatting it up at work, but it really took away from the spa experience and took me out of the«zone.» My husband and I also both had booking issues with this place. They do not seem very organized. On both occasions, they called like an hour before the treatments were scheduled to ask us if we could come in early. Since we were driving from Smyrna to Alpharetta, not really convenient. By the way, they also do not call or email you the day before to confirm your appointment. Because they are such a mess, if you schedule with them, I highly recommend YOU calling them to confirm to make sure they are expecting you and at the time you scheduled. Finally, I was disappointed with the products they use here. After my body scrub, I had to waddle over to a bathroom to shower off the scrub. All their soaps and lotions are not organic and use sodium laurel sulfate and pthalatae-laden artificial parfurm/fragrance. It would be nice if they were more eco-conscious and health-conscious to offer products with ingredients that are a little less harsh. That is all. I will never go back to this place again. Very disappointed!
