Great food and wonderful setting. Only negative is their parking area is dirt and is washed out as you turn in. Appetizers: fried pickles were great and well liked by whole table. Cheese tray was good, didn’t have as many raves from the table. Ordered Fried Chicken and it and the mashed potatoes were awesome. To top it off carrot cake was great. Left something behind by accident and after calling them, they located and saved it back for me. Wonderful experience.

My husband and I decided to try Milton’s for our 25th wedding anniversary dinner. Service was average — not spectacular. Unfortunately the food selection is VERY heavy on fried foods(I realize it is «southern», but they tout themselves as new southern so should offer baked/broiled options). Everything was EXTREMELY salty. Needless to say we will not be back.

Skip the fried green tomatoes and skip the espresso wrapped shrimp. Skip the strip steak too. So dry they had to put butter on it. So cold the butter did not melt. However the shrimp and grits was great. Service was great.

Went for a brunch with family and friends: very bad experience and big disappointment after reading so many good reviews. — cold, impersonal and slow service — some ordered items were never served — served frozen potatoes — omelettes seem like they are made out of pasteurized liquid egg yolk: chewy and flavorless — biscuits and muffins are industrially made — the check was the only thing that reminded us we were supposedly in a reputable and prestigious establishment Felt like a pretentious and overambitious restaurant that would probably need to refocus on simple things and fresh food cooked and fully prepared on-site.

One must temper restaurant ratings with the location in mind. In NY/NOLA Milton’s would get a 3 to 4 but in Atlanta it is a 5. How many folks would travel to NY/NOLA for dinner? First of all they have a very good wine list — I frequently have a bottle of champagne at the bar and get an appetizer and share my wine with folks I meet there. Their entrees are very good and if you get the chance, try their smoked pork shanks. I also have a very large offset smoker which was made in GA and is very similar to their offset smoker in back of the restaurant. The servers know their menu and will offer suggestions and they do not start clearing the table until everyone is finished. This is the way the European restaurants treat their customers. Their valet parking service is very good as well as their«boskar» guitar player — please tip both $ 5. A nice find in GA.

I have visited Milton’s several times and have NEVER had a bad experience. The staff is courteous and efficient and the food is outstanding. I would highly recommend trying them out — but make a reservation!

When you want a great meal with amazing atmosphere and service this is your place. I’ve been about 20 times since I moved to the area five years ago. Service is always spot on. Knowledgable and nice. Atmosphere is great in the old house in winter and patio in the summer. Bar is good year round. Try the cocktails always something good. For the food try something from the garden if available… Dinners is always good. I’ve had most of it. Desert go for the carrot cake. Enjoy this place often

I had the sticky buns, french toast, and the«Signature Southern Brunch» this past weekend. The presentation was great for all three, plus they all tasted delicious. I don’t know what the dinner entrees are like at Milton’s, but their brunch is great and highly recommended. Despite being a Georgia native, however, I haven’t lived in the state in quite a while and forgot about the blue laws(restaurants cannot serve alcohol until noon or 12:30 on Sundays) so be aware of that if you’re planning on getting a Bloody Mary or Mimosa during your Sunday brunch.

Had a bourbon drink with peach purée. It was small, but flavorful. The pièce de résistance is the carrot soup. It’s to die for. It’s that good. Had the Tanglewood Farms Grilled Airline Chicken Breast dinner. Amazing! But… Service is slow and a bit reactionary with their words. It’s very odd. Waited 10 minutes from the time my food plates were taken and my check was presented. Unbelievable. Food = 4 stars. Amazing taste. Small portions. Wait = –2 stars. Can’t believe the lack of attention

Ron Ron Ron! Ask for Ron. Such a great server. Very attentive and thoughtful. He really made our brunch a five star affair. All six of us loved our food. We were celebrating a birthday so sticky gooey delicious beignets(with pecans) arrived at our table compliments of Ron. Then blueberry muffins and biscuits… Jeez. We proceeded to devour our eggs, breakfast meats, salads etc… All very delicious. Then to top it off a fudge cake with graham cracker crust(and other delicious fattening stuff) in a jar with a candle. This old house transformed into a great restaurant is a winner.

I don’t know if I went to a different Miltons, but the one I went to last night was overpriced and service was below average at best. Besides that, the food was not at all special. Four of us, four different entrees– four disappointed guests.

I’m not sure why I haven’t ever reviewed this restraunt before! We have been coming here since they opened and it’s always our families first place to choose when celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, etc. The Vallet service is a nice touch because the area is small for parking and the gentleman is always pleasant and helpful right when we pull up. Amazing, amazing food! We sure do miss the old chef because he would always come out and talk to us for a while and tell us about his preparation of the meals and what his favorites were. He used to make fried chicken that was to die for! However, the menu is still amazing without him and the wait staff is always kind and accomodating! Over half of our family always orders the trout entre– you cannot go wrong! The mountain trout comes prepared with mashed potatoes, asparagus, these delicious sweet potato crisps, and a drizzle that is sweet yet also has a kick to it. My mother in law does not like mashed potatoes with her fish and they’re always pleasant about switching it out for her. My suggestion is to order something on the menu because we have never ordered an item off of the menu and not loved it. However, we have ordered specials in the past and they haven’t been our favorites. I reccomend this restraunt to people at least once every two weeks. If you have the opportunity to go, run! Definitely make reservations to be safe and enjoy!

As much as I have been trying to stay off Unilocal,I simply can’t help myself when I find something worthy of Unilocaling about. THEEXPERIENCE It was a Sunday morning when I called to ask if there was any possibility of making reservations for noon that day. I thought I already knew the answer since just two days prior I checked their online reservation system(which showed no availability), but to my surprise the guy answering the phone said«no problem». Upon arriving we were greeted by a valet and quickly disembarked our vehicle to head inside. The restaurant is quaint with a soothing interior design scheme straight out of the catalogs of Pottery Barn. The same gentleman whom gave us the ok over the phone also greeted us at the reception. It was a nice day, so after being seated in the main dining room we asked to be moved outside onto the covered patio. The dining room nearest to the kitchen just felt a little too dark and claustrophobic for our tastes. Lucky for us the crowds had not yet taken over so we had a choice of any of the dining areas. The servers were spirited and helpful. The food descriptions on the menu sounded so mouthwatering that I had a booger of time trying to get my taste buds to make a decision while my brain was being disobliging. After discussing possible scenarios on how to get everything I wanted onto one plate, my server came up with a duet of deliciousness the kitchen was willing to prepare. I wanted the Crab Cake Benedict, but pics of the chicken biscuit posted by other Unilocalers were dancing in my head and I’m not talking a quiet ballet. It was doing a River Dance of epic proportions! I could not deny either dish the chance to get in my belly and was on the verge of an utter food slut meltdown… I was about to order TWO dishes as my entrée. My gluttony sometimes knows no bounds. THEFOOD — FRIEDGREENTOMATOES(3.75 stars) | $ 9 I personally believe any restaurant serving this southern dish should do so with a sweet chutney or salty rémoulade to counter the natural bitterness of the green tomatoes. While the decorative sauces they used for plating were indeed a good flavor enhancement, I would have liked more. The preparation of the tomatoes was perfect, from the golden crisp batter to the perfectly chosen thickness. Unchallenged bitterness was this dishes only enemy. — LUMPCRABCAKEBENEDICT(4.5 stars) | $ 17 Personally, crab for breakfast has never agreed with my digestive system, but alas I am a true glutton for punishment. I bit the bullet to satisfy a deep need and OH how my needs were met. I’m not totally certain, but I don’t think the chefs at Milton’s realize MOST restaurants load there crab cakes with a bunch of breading as fillers. Instead, the jumbo lump crab cake they gave me was indeed all crab meat. What a delight! I was so excited that I almost pointed out this mistake to my server, but I thought better of it and kept it to myself. — CHICKEN w/SAUSAGE GRAVYBENEDICT(5 stars) | $ 5 added to my meal This is sexy chicken! If I were to attempt trying to describe this fried chicken fillet as a human, I’d say it was like a personal trainer that just got back from a two week vacation in Fiji where she was golden fried on the beach with the best essential oils and laid to rest on my plate. This dish is almost worthy of marrying, but sadly this is not an actual menu item. The kitchen made this as in impromptu request for yours truly. I felt so BO$$. — BLEUCHEESE, SPINACH&CARAMELIZEDONIONOMELETTE(3.5 stars) | $ 12 This dish was for mamma panda(my wife), whom is our resident semi-vegetarian & queen of the gluten free menu. Her words: «I enjoyed it, but the cheese was a little too strong.» — CHICKEN, BISCUITS&EGG(4 stars) | $ 12 This dish was for my teenage panda, the not so food adventurous one. He absolutely loved the chicken biscuit itself, but didn’t like the eggs or the potatoes. Note: I thought the eggs & potatoes were pretty good. However, to be fair, my wife makes AMAZING breakfast potatoes and great eggs(better than any restaurant). — GOATCHEESE, SHRIMP&ANDOUILLEOMELETTE(3 stars) | $ 13 Then there was baby panda, the youngest of our household and Unilocal elite in training. The goat cheese and mushrooms were a total turn-off for him. However, like a trooper he salvaged what eggs, shrimp & sausage he could that didn’t have any goat cheese attached. Feeling sorry for him I gave up a portion of my crab cake to which he exclaimed«This is the best crab cake of all time.» Dramatic much? FINALTHOUGHTS As per usual, my family often influences my review star ratings & in this case I must agree that the goat cheese & bleu cheese were sort of a deal breaker on their dishes. My meal on the other hand was sublime. So if this review was TL;DR for you, here’s the bottom line: The Benedicts and atmosphere here are 5 enthusiastic stars! However, IF you are not certain whether or not you like bleu or goat cheese, I would avoid dishes with them altogether.

We were visiting from Los Angeles California and had an amazing dining experience here at Milton’s. Sitting on the patio, enjoying our conversations, but the ambiance, sunset were all just spectacular. One of the best nights we’ve had in Georgia. Green fried tomato’s, and fried pickles were both second to nothing I’ve had before. Not everyone knows how to create, many have tried. Then the Country fried/pickle chicken dinner, OMG, initially I said too much and then it was gone. These three items are a must to try! Just a great experience, Chef Dollar out did himself! I left the best for last, the Jalapeño Margarita. Reading the description said order me, drinking the first said have another… this was the best Margarita I have ever had, bar none. This is a recipe I will master at home and remember our incredible dining experience here at Milton’s. We look forward to returning the next time we are in Georgia! Thank you Brad and your Team…

Have been wanting to try this place for quite some time. Had the opportunity to go to brunch this Sunday and was super excited. Really cute décor and quite bigger than I expected. We sat in one of the side rooms and were served promptly. The appetizers were INCREDIBLE. I had the crab soup and my boyfriend had the fried green tomatoes. Both so so good. Complimentary biscuits and muffins were also great and the $ 4 mimosas and bloody Marys are a great deal. Our main entrees were a bit hard and cold so I’m not sure if they were sitting for a while before they were served, but we sadly were not wowed. Had to keep flagging down the server too so that was a bummer. All in all I think this place deserves another try, even if it’s only for crab soup and fried green tomatoes.

Date night. A night long forgotten by the old, and not yet learned by the young. A night treasured by those lucky enough to find a baby sitter in time to have a couple hours to themselves. For some, a nerve wrecking experience praying that nothing goes wrong. We pulled up to our first choice restaurant with out a place to park. My boyfriend offered to go inside and check how busy it was while I sat in the car checking invigorating updates from 3000 of my closest friends via Facebook. 30 seconds later he comes out with nothing more than«it’s a zoo in there » . Defeated, he gets in the car with hope of a perfect night drained from his face. As he turned the car on he looks at me and says, «what do you wanna do ?» A defining moment, I close out my facebook app and opened the holy grail of restaurant lists, Unilocal. We found the restaurant and it said cocktail in the name so I was pretty much sold there. The Nights Current was starting to change. As we arrived, a valet took my car and parked it for us. As we sat down we noticed the table behind us was a 10 top and they were putting in their order. «oh no!» I whispered to my boo. «Our food is gonna take forever» Just as we said that, the crab bisque arrived as well as the assortment of bread basket. So yum. We expected our entrée to arrive in 45 min or so so we ate all we could from the table to hold us over until thin . 15 minutes later our food shows up. FIFTEENPEOPLE. this is a restaurant win. winning on all levels . I got the sesame crusted trout which came with mashed potatoes, asparagus and sweet potato fritters and OMG you guys it was delicious !! My boyfriend got the black n bleu meatloaf and even THAT was amazing! Our server, lisa, was a pro. She kept the table clean with out really talking to us to much so we can enjoy the meal ! Seriously top notch. Thank you for making date night a success !!

There is so much to love about Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails. The restaurant is located in a restored 150 year old farmhouse in Crabapple and uses fresh local ingredients, many from their 1 acre garden behind the restaurant. Drinks: Milton’s has a variety of good wines(with very reasonable prices), specialty cocktails including The Georgia Peach Basil Mojito which is my wife’s favorite, and a couple of different craft beers such as Jekyll Brewing from Alpharetta. If you bring your own wine, they charge a $ 25 corkage fee which is high. Atmosphere: Contemporary Southern feel. The patio is great on a nice night and they have live music Thursday through Sunday to add to the experience. Food: if you like southern food then you’ll find lots of drool worthy items to choose from on the menu. I had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, smoked Gouda mac and cheese, and tried my wife’s pimento cheese grits. Everything was amazing. My wife enjoyed her fried pickles as a starter(said they were the best she ever had) and really liked her blackened salmon and steamed spinach. They also give you so much delicious bread before the meal. Service: Our server had a great personality and service was spot on all night. They do a very good job. Overall: This is definitely one of the best restaurants in the Milton/Crabapple/Alpharetta area, possible the best. I felt that the prices were great too considering the high quality food and experience. We’re definitely going back and I would love to attend one of the dinner in the garden events. Awesome experience.

This restaurant was one of my favorite places to go, but after last Friday I am taking my business elsewhere. This restaurant’s service is TERRIBLE!!! It’s a shame because it’s a cute place with typically decent food but has really gone downhill. But, I suppose that’s what you get when you hire a bunch of inexperienced teenagers who don’t know a thing about decent customer service. Last Friday my husband and I had a reservation and when we were asked if we wanted to sit inside or out, we requested outside and they even said we’ll place you by the heater because it was starting to get chilly. As soon as we sat down, one of the staff members comes over and takes the heater away to move to a table that claimed they were cold. Are you f*cking kidding me? You’re just going to walk over and take away the heater that we purposely were sat down by for your table without even thinking of asking the people who were sitting there by the heater? That was only the start. Next, our waitress came over and asked if everything was okay. Well, considering we lost our heater, «no» it wasn’t okay. However, she was not at all interested in an answer unless it was what she wanted to hear. Her mouth dropped open and she walked away and said she would find someone to help us. Seriously, don’t ask unless you want a real answer — I mean, we weren’t even rude about it — we were just like WTF, our heater was taken away. The hostess even said this has happened before. Well, HELLO — if it’s happened before, it will probably happen again and why isn’t this being addressed — seriously??? So, then we move inside hoping all would be well from this point forward. Um, no… that was not the case. Our waitress was more interested in chatting with the drunk people next to us then even caring about what was happening at our table. In the past I have always ordered a vegetable plate, but requested it to be prepared vegan and this has never been an issue. So, my cheese-covered non-vegan plate came out. And, she just dropped it off and continued on her conversation with the drunk table next to us. I believe it’s a common, good-practice in the restaurant business to circle back around to ensure everyone’s food came out alright. So, 15 minutes later when she comes back and asks if everything is ok — once again not prepared to hear«no» it’s not. I then inform her my plate is not vegan and she then argues with me that if the chef said it would be vegan, then it would be vegan and I must be mistaken. However, I know that cheese is not vegan, I know what cheese is and looks like and even my husband confirmed it was cheese by tasting it. I won’t even get into the pesto which is non-vegan too. She looked at me awkwardly and finally took the plate away. She promptly returns and says the chef didn’t see her vegan note. Well, no sh*t lady — there was cheese all over it! Doesn’t even apologize or anything and then brings me out a cold vegetable plate after that. I guess since she spent so much time chatting with the drunkies next to us, she didn’t think I’d want a hot plate like everyone else or even to ask about it again. At this point, I am just ready to leave. So, no one ever offered to make this right, take something off the bill or even offer a free appetizer or just a good old fashioned apology. But, I guess when you hire young folks who know everything, they just don’t give a sh*t about customer service and don’t care. I will NOT be returning here and will take my business to a place that actually is interested in it, cares and takes the time to properly train their employees.

Came here for a corporate project dinner. Food: we had a predefined 3 course menu. I chose the tomato basil soup, the steak with the spinach, and cranberry cream dessert. The tomato basil soup was cooked to perfection. The steak was seasoned very well, however it was overcooked my medium rare steak. The dessert was just too sweet for my taste. I did not finish it. 3⁄5 Service: Great service, very attentive. Came by to clean the table after every course. They know their dishes and they are on top of their game. 4⁄5 Atmosphere: It was a pretty neat set up. It seems like they purposely had those rooms divided for party dinners for corporate folks. You get free valet or you can park yourself. One of the thing, I did not like that this place was far from alpharetta and you had to drive in one way small road. 3.5÷5 Overall, this is a very expensive place to eat. So if you want to bring a date, make sure she is super special. I personally think this place is overpriced for the type of food and quality that they are serving.

Fantastic, fresh food in one of the cutest setting imaginable. We went for Brunch and this review is for that. We will however be back for dinner as soon as we can be! Atmosphere: This restaurant manages to be cozy yet huge all at the same time. It reminded me a lot of restaurants in wineries and small towns in Napa CA and Woodinville WA. Super adorable. Service: The service was fantastic, friendly, genuine and just enough attention to make you feel like you were well taken care of, but not so over the top you felt uncomfortable. Food: Delicious! After ordering our meal they brought out a few complimentary treats consisting of a delicious bread basket of mini muffins and biscuits as well as some amazing beignets with molasses pecan caramel sauce. Then came out our brunch orders, I got the quiche with salad and my husband got the eggs benedict with grits. First off, the quiche was fresh and well made. It could have been a bit more flavorful but still, it was quite good. The salad however was by far one of the best salads I have ever eaten, and given that I eat salad almost daily, that’s saying something. The greens were so fresh, the dressing perfectly seasoned and the salad expertly dressed. I almost asked for more! The eggs benedict were one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Seriously, it’s hard to make this dish, I know, I’ve tried, A LOT. These guys nail it! Finally the grits were the best grits I have ever had, ever.(If you’ve had better message me cuz I gotta try them). Creamy but not runny and very flavorful. Coffee: Average coffee, nothing you’re gonna get excited about but it’s enjoyable enough and does what coffee is supposed to do.
