This was a great find! My mother discovered Scottsdale Farms and signed my daughters up for an activity there. The following week we loaded up and took the beautiful drive there. The activity, which was very well-planned and organized, involved cookie decorating followed by a story in the pumpkin patch, a brief lesson on the various types of pumpkins, and an opportunity to feed the chickens while learning about the hen house and the farm pig. The staff members were very friendly and knowledgeable. Following the activity we headed to the café for some lunch. There is indoor and outdoor seating available and the menu has a nice lunch selection with specials. The café staff was service oriented and the food was tasty(though lukewarm) and geared toward adults. We rounded out the family experience with a walk around the property and some time on the playground. Scottsdale Farms also has an excellent nursery, a small clothing boutique area, and a beautiful home décor offering on the pricier side. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because I loved all the great home décor items but would not have been able to purchase something and leave feeling like I got a nice value. All in all, this place makes for an enjoyable family outing or a nice shopping and lunch experience with girlfriends. We will definitely return!

Loved this place! Our two small kids had a blast! There is so much to do. You can stay for hours and hours. The café is great, so you don’t have to leave to eat. The pumpkin patch, hay ride, animals, and play ground were perfect for the kids. The staff was wonderful. I honestly can’t say a single negative thing about this place. Can’t wait to go back at Christmas.

First– this place has great promise– fantastic location, beautiful building and land, and a cool mixed-use concept of nursery, boutique, and café. However, it takes a modicum of talent to be able to capitalize on all of this(or maybe not). I feel like I’m being gouged every time I go in there and I’m not even treated nicely while being gouged. Overpriced Christmas Trees and Pumpkins. They do have decent quality(also pricey) nursery items and unique boutique items(pricey). Poor quality food in café that is also overpriced. Takes FOREVER to get served and is a huge disappointment when it actually arrives. Management there is rude and not helpful– the younger kids are nice. It is disappointing that this establishment is going down the drain because it has so much promise– management appears incompetent and has seemingly lost touch with their customers. This is a place that has so much promise that I have kept giving it a shot but always walk away feeling like I wasted my time and energy– I’m done.

Good lawd… this place is a gem for gardeners. I’d say it’s at least 3 times larger than any of the local Pike’s Nurseries in the area. As someone who loves gardening, I spent about 90 minutes here just looking around, and I did miss huge sections still. One thing I loved was that all of their plants have stakes with information on the plants clearly marked with Exposure, plant mature dimensions, bloom time, etc. They were not depending on the growers stickers and labels to provide the info. That was great and I had not seen that labeling format clearly used before. No more bending down at the waist and having to search for those labels, if they are there. I cannot stress enough, the size of their business and selection of plants. If you love to garden around this area, you have to check it out. I did not eat at their restaurant, but it was packed on a weekday lunchtime. All their food is prepared from their farm, I was told. Pumpkin patch in the Fall… I’ll have to have the family check that out. You can also have children’s parties there with a petting zoo and catering. Area vegetation is very mature, so shade is abundant if you had a outdoor party in the hot summertime. Needless to say more… I was very impressed and will be back often.

We came here for our pumpkins and had a great time selecting which ones to bring home! There were so many to choose from! They were supposed to have Halloween activities for the kiddos, but when we went there was nothing(it was part of the reason we went). I’m sure it’s fabulous for Christmas though!

Huge, open-timbered building straight out of Vermont partnered with beautiful, fountained gardens. A great place for unusual plants, gifts and surprisingly good food for lunch. You can even eat out in the beautiful garden. Really nice place to come and bring out-of-towners during the holidays or anytime. We recently had friends up and they loved it. During the holidays they have all kinds of events, music etc.

At the risk of giving away one of the best kept, holiday family secrets in the Alpharetta/Roswell suburbs, I must say that we love this place. I first brought my family to Scottsdale Farms last Christmas while looking for fresh Christmas trees. They have a wonderful selection of both Douglas Fir and Leyland Cyprus trees, in addition to a great selection of freshly cut wreaths and about 2,000 sq. feet of indoor decorations, plus a small café that serves hot chocolate and all sorts of delicious holiday goodies. Not wanting to go the traditional«Berry Patch Farms» over-crowded pumpkin patch route this year, we again headed over to Scottsdale Farms and were excited to find that it was similarly festive. They had a good selection of pumpkins(far cheaper than Berry Patch), indoor & outdoor decorations, a 15-minute hayride and ZERO crowds! The kids also enjoyed the face-painting. Was SO happy not to have to go sit in traffic and stand in line holding a 30-lb pumpkin. LOVE this place!

Now this is how to go shopping for a Christmas tree! When debating where to go for this year’s Christmas tree, I thought of the usual suspects: Home Depot, a parking lot vendor, a church group, the boy scouts, etc. But my wife did some research online and found Scottsdale Farms and suggested we go check it out. To get there, we took a beautiful drive along the winding roads through the countryside of Alpha/Milton, past several horse farms and giant mansion-like houses nestled into the woods. We finally arrived at Scottsdale Farms where we found a quaint little Christmas village. We parked and walked into this beautiful building constructed of timber beams throughout. SF has it figured out. While being a nursery is their business, they have built an experience into the mix, adding value to the occasion. Let me explain: For starters, they have a café and restaurant inside the store with a pretty full menu of food and coffee/espresso items to choose from. The food was actually quite good. My wife and I opted for the«Adult Grilled Cheese» sandwich that featured 2 kinds of cheese, chopped bacon pieces and sliced tomatoes. There was also a large Italian section on the menu with several things that looked quite appetizing as well, but we weren’t hungry enough to order those entrees. Next, there is live music. At a nursery? Yes. There were 4 flutists playing Christmas carols while we finished our lunch. It was a peaceful backdrop to our Christmas adventure, putting everybody in the mood for the holidays. Perhaps most important, there was a Santa Claus there, sitting in a sleigh for photo ops with the kids. My kids loved it and couldn’t wait to go sit in his lap to tell them what they wanted for Christmas. After all this, we finally went outside to pick out a tree. These guys mean business when it comes to trees. They have several different kinds of trees from all over the country. Trees in every shade of green, various types of needles, textures, fullness, etc. When you pick out your tree, they ask you what type of stand you are using so they can cut it down to the right stump height. They also bag it for you and tie it down to your car. If you go here and buy a tree, please tip these guys at least a $ 5 spot. They’re standing out there in the cold and hauling heavy trees to people’s cars all day long. I for one was glad I didn’t have to do any of the heavy lifting or getting my hands dirty while freezing my butt off.
