My husband and I visited this restaurant before attending the Symphony one night. We are running a little late because he conveniently forgot the tickets at home and we ended up having to rush back so we knew that we were on a time crunch and of course there was tons of traffic. Fortunately, this restaurant is close to our house, and the service was extremely fast. We were very happy with our meals. I honestly don’t remember what my husband ordered, but I had the Chicken Parmesan and it was very good. The portion size was quite large, so that with the salad that was served before hand, I was able to box up half of my food and eat it as leftovers the following day. My husband did the same. Our server was attentive and took care of everything very quickly for us. The prices were very reasonable. I would definitely go here again.

Great little place. Right down the road from our house so when we are in the mood for some Greek, bam! So far only have had the gyros and hummus. Both are delicious, the staff is great and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended if you are in the Johns Creek area. In anxious to try more stuff on the menu!

Such a wonderful ma and pop style restaurant with such a diverse menu. I live right by this restaurant and always order food to go. I am known by the owners for always ordering their chicken soup which is unlike anything else. I will sometimes order multiple just to introduce it to my friends and they are always blown away. My recommendation? Try anything and everything on this menu! I have never been disappointed.

My wife and I met here for lunch the other day with our seven month old daughter in tow. When we walked in, I thought we might have made a mistake bringing our daughter, because it looked fancier than expected. Thankfully, the staff were all very nice to our daughter, and the manager made it a point to play with her from across the counter where we were sitting! That really put us at our ease, and that type of service is always nice. The food here was pretty good. I’m still looking for a match to 5 A’s in Harvest, AL(yes, you read that right –the best Persian food I’ve had was in Alabama!), but this was the best Persian place we’ve found in our quest so far. The baba ganoush was more like hummus, which was sad because we’re an eggplant loving family, but the pita that came with it felt and tasted fresh and homemade. I’m not sure if it’s changed since some previous negative reviews, but ours was perfect! The chicken and eggplant pasta dish my wife ordered was okay, but not nearly as good as my beef kubideh kabob. I really wish I could find chello kabob, but I’ve not found it yet. The rice and veggies were okay. The veggies were flavorful and cooked perfectly through, but there seemed to be a tremendous amount of oil. The rice was a little dry, but I’m a rice snob! Last but not least, the baklava was pretty good too. It was a little dry, and I wasn’t sure why they sprinkled it with powdered sugar, but I still enjoyed it. All in all, the service was great, the parking was cramped(see my tip about additional parking!), the food was good, drinks were kept filled, and the check for two(non-alcoholic) drinks, one appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert came in under $ 50. Sadly, the location is prohibitive for us to be regulars, but we will definitely make our way back!

IFFRESHANDDELICIOUSISWHATYOUWANT, KEEPLOOKING! After waiting several years to try this restaurant again, I have come to the conclusion that it just cannot compete with others when it comes to the basic gyro. In order for me to try other offerings, a restaurant must pass the gyro test and if they can’t then all bets are off. Shiraz fails miserably, they didn’t even bother to «show up» with this one. My husband and I ordered gyros to go; mine came with large potatoes while his came with french fries. The gyro came with meat that had an odd taste and texture. It was cut into blunt squares instead of being shaved in long slices from the log. The excessive sauce was very thin,(watered down), and tasteless. It was like eating a thin paste. I attempted to add veggies in order to absorb the sauce but this simply diluted the sandwich. In my first review of this restaurant, I noted that the bread tasted as if it had been microwaved and this hasn’t changed. It still has a tough and chewy texture. How in the world do you mess up a potato? You cut it in super large unmanageable chunks, add no seasoning and serve. These potatoes were so ridiculous that I did not even bother to eat them. I really believe that these potatoes were sitting around for a while and just reheated when ordered. On this same day, I made breakfast potatoes, fresh, seasoned and delicious, so why in the world would I ever settle for less? I absolutely expect no less when I am actually paying for food, especially at a Persian restaurant. Much of their food is simply not fresh and that is not acceptable! There is just no way I could EVER considering eating here again. Usually restaurants improve after opening instead of becoming stagnant or complacent. Instead of sending out copious amounts of coupons that are consistently ignored, Shiraz should be more focused on improving the quality of their foods in order to draw a continuous stream of new and returning customers. There is a new sheriff in town,(the tavern next door), and I am sure they will be «bringing it» which means mediocre just won’t do. I am ready to see a full service quality restaurant in this area and I can’t wait for new competition. I REFUSETOSETTLE!

In town for business and we stopped here for lunch after reading the other Unilocal Reviews. Great food, very reasonably priced(compared to South Florida prices), clean and welcoming staff. I ordered the falafel pita. It was perfectly cooked, the Greek salad and dressing were very fresh and tasty. My coworker order the chicken platter, which was a very large portion and delicious. All in all, this place is great. Large menu, fresh ingredients, healthy options(including many vegetarian dishes!) and pleasant ambiance. We’ll definitely come back when we’re in town.

I’m a huge fan of this restaurant because they have the most tender gyro meat that I’ve ever tasted in a very long time. Their location is off of McGinnis Ferry Rd near the Publix shopping center. Plenty of parking out front and it’s hard not to notice the lovely customer service by the wait staff and management team. You’re always greeted with a warm welcome! I initially visited this restaurant for a pick up order because I was craving a Greek salad. Recently visited them again for lunch with a co-worker and enjoyed their food once again. Had their creamy chicken soup but asked for a slice of provolone cheese to be melted on top. Order the«cup» because it comes served in an actual bowl and is plenty of soup to go around. Had the gyro wrap with french fries. I didn’t actually eat the pita bread but it appeared to look soft and baked well. The red onion slices were a nice touch since I’m usually used to white chopped onions in my gyros sandwich. Fresh chopped romaine and tomatoes also came inside the gyros wrap. Their tzaziki sauce is so good! Super thick and creamy and just the right amount of dill. Couldn’t stop dipping my fries in it instead of using ketchup. I’ll definitely be returning again soon for to check out their beef and chicken kabob platters. The folks sitting next to us had ordered them and I am looking forward to trying out those entrees soon! If you’re in the area and craving Mediterranean food, be sure to check out Shiraz café and you won’t be disappointed!

Cheap product, high prices inconsistent product. Not worth the money. Not only were we having problems with a nasty over spiced chicken but the next table received old wilted vege in their salad and another guest received a wrap that was falling apart. They don’t pay attention to ruin to detail and their wait staff are more interested with talking than working.

So I’ve been to many Persian restaurants, all over Atlanta and Johns Creek, and I have to say That Shiraz Café by far has the greatest food. My parents and I always go back here to get anything, the quality of their food rivals that of my mother and that’s saying something. There are many other Persian Resturants but nothing compares to Shiraz, the staff is nice and friendly and the owner always comes and greets us, highly recommend it to any Kebab lovers: D

I had a craving for a gyro and finally went into this restaurant that I passed by for years. It was such a treat! The food was delicious… I sat outside under an umbrella. Sharon was my server and she was sweet, attentive and very pleasant. Very reasonably priced. I will definitely go back again soon!

Best Mediterranean I’ve had since moving to Atlanta from Detroit in ’09. Detroiters MUST have their Mediterranean. Period. And we know the real deal when we taste it because of how prevalent the culture is at home. Shiraz is flavorful, portions are generous, service is top notch. There is no reason for me to trek to the city when Shiraz is in my backyard. Chicken kabob amazing. Potatoes perfect. All around great meal. I dined in and was in and out. I need look no more.

Great place. Small and sometimes it seems like it is slow. But the food is great as well as the service. Don’t waste your money and time going down town for good food. Check this place out. I’ll definitely be back.

Weekday lunch with very fast and friendly service. Ambience is relaxed and beautifully decorated. Mirza Ghassemi(eggplant) appetizer and Kubideh kabob platter were a delicious choice.

Nice folks. Food was mediocre. Gyro meat is frozen, from a box. Surprised to see such high reviews.

My husband and I love Shiraz café! We have dined there six times over the past two years and it gets better each time. What is so great about it is that it is small and intimate, nice but not stuffy, great service and the«deal» — split an app, each get a salad, entrée, split a dessert and bottle of wine all for about $ 60. We go here on NYE and Valentine’s because they take reservations.

[TL;DR] Overall, not bad. I think it depends on what you get and if your palate for tart is adjusted to the flavor. Things are slightly too tart for me. Hello patio. +1 for al fresco dining. Shiraz Café is a bit out of the way for me so it’s doubtful I’ll go back, but it’s not because I didn’t enjoy it. Of the two plates we ordered — the Chicken Koobideh Kabob and the Falafel platter, I really liked the chicken. It’s a flavor you’re not going to find except in Persian cuisine. SO good. The falafels were pan-fried and delicate, cutting easily by fork. They were everything you could want in something made of chick peas — but just a bit too tart. Don’t get me wrong; they’re very good. It’s just that tart kick at the end that would prevent me from ordering it again.
