I’m a sucker for nostalgia. Feeling rather nostalgic one day, after a meeting in my old stomping grounds of OTP Suburbs, and in need of a good ear-lowering, I decided to track down my long-time hair stylist from about 20 years ago. She cut my curly little kid locks from her(ok, mine?) early days at Fantastic Sam’s and Great Clips in Alpharetta, to owning her own salon called Fantasy Hair and Nails about 2 blocks from her current location, we were exclusive. Sure, I’ve grown up and up until a few weeks ago, had moved on from the sub-20 dollar haircut. But alas, nostalgia wins again. After a some super-sleuthing skills and calling random hair salons in Alpharetta that google ever had mentioned of a «Lana», and a tearful(yes, it was that serious) reunion with Lana, my hair is happy. While I still love my Crimper’s «Katie Kutz», I have to say that it’s not beneath me to make the trek out to the ‘burbs occasionally for the best haircut from one of the sweetest people ever. And for only $ 13 for a men’s haircut I won’t feel guilty about the gas expenses. So, again, ask for Lana at Star Hair if you’re up in Alpharetta, and you won’t regret it. P. S.: The address has changed from 10800 to 10875 after a recent move to the Ace Hardware shopping center!

Great service! I really enjoy this place, this is where I always get my hair cut. It is a lot better than Great Clips or Sports Cut. Also, the lady is very nice, her English is not bad, its great for a place where you want to be in and out in 15 minutes. I recommend this place, for anyone looking for a regular hair cut that is affordable.

I don’t know why every time I come here there is only one lady cutting hair. It’s a typical Vietnamese salon with the plant décor and random hair product posters scattered about the walls. I stopped by yesterday for my mom’s hair cut. The hair dresser worked fast to get all her customers in for the day. Since she was the only one working, she didn’t really sweep the floors between customers which I thought was a little weird. My mom went in for a little layering. Didn’t really get that. Possibly due to some weak-English communication. I would recommend this place if one is looking for an easy cut with nothing to fancy buuut that’s about it. Walk-ins are welcome and it’s fairly affordable.
