The service at the beginning was very slow but the cashier was very friendly. The food came at a decent time. However once we were served we were no longer checked up on. Chicken Pad Thai was spicy and very good. I thought the garlic prawns were a little on the bland side. Adding soy sauce did help. Portions are good enough to share. I think I was here once when it was China Camp. The décor is nice and the place was certainly more casual than I remember China Camp to be.

The food was alright… nothing amazing, but surprisingly well priced for a restaurant in a casino. If you have a Players Club card, they also give a discount. We had 2 entrees, an appetizer, one soda, and a water. With the discount, it came to $ 18, which we thought was extremely reasonable. The restaurant itself was quite pretty… contemporary and with a restrained Asian flair. They weren’t terribly busy, but the employees were pretty sparse. The elderly couple at the table directly behind us mentioned to one of the waitresses that their entrees were completely cold upon arrival and that she might want to mention it to the chef. The waitress gave absolutely no apology or offer to rectify the issue, she only replied something to the effect of «we’re under-staffed tonight.» As if that’s an excuse to hand 2 paying customers cold dinners. That said, our own dinners were warm and the staff we encountered were friendly(the waitress we overheard wasn’t unfriendly, just not sympathetic). I probably would have given it 4 stars given our own meal/experience, but feel the need to take off a star for the way the couple behind us were handled.

I’ve been to this restaurant and I give it 2 stars. I love chinese food and this food did not hit the spot for me. It doesn’t taste authentic.

This place has really improved. The old China camp was good too. When they changed into the«Panda Express» format it was really horrible. Now you order your dish and most dishes come with a bowl of rice. All the dishes I had so far have been pretty good. Way better than than the«PE» style. I do recommend the Mongolian Beef and the chicken pad thai

The service is horrible. My last visit I asked for a to go box and the woman didn’t even get it. The place was nearly empty at the time I asked for the box. Some of the food had weird after taste.

The pad thai was really good. My wife had the magnolian beef with steam rice and it was just ok. The employees can be a little nicer but thats all.

New restaurant, new menu, new décor. Someone finally got the memo and changed the tired old Chinese place to a more modern one with flare and fusion. The food was very fresh and clean. I enjoyed the Singapore noodles they pair well with a cold Tsingtao beer and spring rolls. Too bad this places closes before 10pm, because it would be a great late night dining option.

Terrible service, two out of three entrees were cold, third was late, but hot. Would not recommend it to anyone

Wow has this place improved. Today I had the best orange chicken I’ve had in my life. It was crispy and tasty plus the real orange peal in the dish added a bit of sophistication. If I were to base the rating solely on today’s dish it would be five stars, however most of the time the dishes receive a strong four stars. The concept was revamped a few months ago and it’s much improved over the old plop from the bin to your plate food before. Now dishes are cooked fresh and hot to order and the wait time is only about 5 mins. If you want great food that’s also fast and cheep at Viejas Casino and Resort give Far East a try.

Far East Express changed the way they offered their food. It used to be like Panda Express, now they revamped their menu. You simply choose and pay for your order and take your seat. They will bring your freshly made food to your table. I must admit, the wait staff was very efficient and friendly. She made sure that we had everything we had ordered. The wait time was non-existent. The meal was quick and I loved my Mongolian beef, the meat was actual chunks of steak.

For a fast food Chinese place… I am thoroughly impressed! The set-up is comfy and inviting — Viejas, you totally thought this through for us weary gamblers(and there were a lot of gamblers dining here!) :P The customer service here is awesome. The lady helping me with my order told me about the 20% discount with v club card — what a sweetie. I totally dig the Chinese music playing in the background while you eat, and the flat screen TVs showing beautiful Chinese scenery wasn’t too bad either. If it’s your first time here, I’d recommend ordering the Beef Chow Fun = very delicious! The Mandarin Chicken was a bit salty but still good once drowned by white rice ;) This is totally a fancier version of Panda Express LOL(but not at the Panda Inn caliber). Take a look at the picture I took — seriously, what fast food Chinese place has colored napkins and readily available soy sauce at your table… :) –Sarah Marie 1-6-2013

Good place to eat and run. The best stategy for eating here is to park in the outlet mall section, the safest of their parking areas, come in the main entrance, take a left and you are there. Once there I recommend the wonton soup and the egg rolls. I am such a regular here that they already order it when I walk in. Service is great and the price is a bargain especially with a player card. When done reverse the order and be thankful you got out of this tweeker headquters with your life and wallet.

After walking around the poor excuse of an outlet mall, we worked up an appetite. I try to avoid casinos & buffets like the plague so we ended up at the Chinese food place.(This place was previously known as China Camp). Service is fast which is a plus. Unfortunately this place is located inside Viejas casino which is dark & smokey. :-/ We ordered 2 chef specials which where $ 7.95 for soup, entrée, egg roll, steamed white rice… good deal. Hot tea is complimentary… like it should be everywhere. :-) Although it was tea bags not loose leaf & they only had Jasmine tea… oh well. The egg drop soup lacked flavor… I fixed it up with some lemon which made it more palatable. They serve the soup with a side of crunchy fried wonton strips which is nice. The veggie egg roll was good & crispy. We had both the orange chicken which was better than most that I have had… the chicken was lightly battered, sauce not too sweet. The shrimp in lobster sauce had fresh ingredients… crisp, fresh bell peppers & onion. There was three of us & the two orders was enough for us. We also got an extra 20% off for having a Viejas players card. Ultimately ended up being only about $ 15!

Note: this was when it was China Camp. Update to come. — — — — — We ordered our usual and it just wasn’t good this time :(So I had to take away a star. 5 stars though for our super sweet waitress who was gallantly trying to serve half the restaurant by herself because they were short-staffed that night :)

Dear China Camp, I ordered your Mongolian Beef today and was not pleased. I understand that, while it is hard to properly trim fat from meat, there should never be gobs of it forming a makeshift blob on my plate. I also hear, from several other reputable sources, that gummy meat, no matter how cost efficient, does not taste good to a large majority of people. Because the entrée was so awful, I decided to have a slice of your banana cream pie. I figured that the sugar, being strong enough to bleach my tongue from your sub par recipes, would serve as a suitable chaser. Unfortunately, to my ultimate dismay, this is akin to washing down dirt with a can of motor oil. I must admit, despite my unsatisfactory adventure, I did enjoy your tap water. Most respectfully yours, Rob P.

Spent the day at viejas. again…to warm up for my Vegas trip next weekend! *happy dance* I have had the lettuce wraps at China Camp before which are really yummy and I highly recommend. So after our gambling spree I thought it would be nice to sit down for a late lunch. We opted for the $ 7.95 lunch special. It consists of soup, entrée, rice and egg roll. I opted for sweet and sour pork and my man had the general Tso’s chicken(Sp?) My egg drop soup was just OK. They did bring out the little deep fried crunchy things so that was a plus. The sweet and sour pork had way too much batter and was so fried it was almost inedible. This coming from me is amazing because I love pretty much anything deep fried. Same goes with my mans chicken dish. But for $ 7.95 you really can’t complain. The service, however, was stellar! Our server brought my guy a pitcher of iced tea because he asked for a «HUGE» iced tea. That’s good for bonus points. Her attitude was great and she was very attentive. Hence, the extra star. Do drop in for lettuce wraps. Don’t expect amazing food here. Sorry China Camp.

Kung pow chicken… hits the spice craving just right. We also had the Shanghai Special noodles or something like that it was okay but it comes out with dry noodles that cook as the meat and vegs are put on it. It was okay. They also have really great fried rice. And if you’re not having food coma then you can gamble a little if that’s your forte, we chose to walk around the outlets which is across the street. This is one of the better eateries at Viejas :)

pros… great place to get some really decent chinese food at a casino. we went here to get a bite to eat. the service was great. only a couple of people in the restaurant. shout out to Helen, Hui, and Pilar. they were so cool and so nice. the place is related to the fat city china camp off of pacific highway. run by the Fat family. now for the food. i ordered the the shanghai noodles, and my wife ordered the yak-a-mien. both pretty good. the shanghai noodles is somewhat spicy. while the yak-a-mien was more savory in flavor. good broth. we also ordered the dim sum plate, you get two pot sticker, two big fat breaded shrimp, two fried wontons, and two egg rolls, they were pretty oily. another good thing was that there was no tax cause it was on the reservation. added bonus. and i hear if you gamble enough there, you can order whatever food you want, and it’s free. just pay tip. the ladies said to come back on the weekend of chinese new year, which will be on friday 2÷8÷08. they will hold a big celebration with chinese lion dancers and firecrackers too. cons…well pretty far to go for a bowl of soup and noodles. the parking was terrible. still a lot of smoke in the air, need better filtering.
