What a great find this was. I had water damage to some drapes on a rental property in the Gold Coast. After the Unilocal results for«drapery cleaning» in Chicago only landed me companies who didn’t seem hopeful that water damage would come out, I expanded my search to Chicagoland on Google and found this company. It went exactly as I hoped and as it should. The receptionist asked me the size of the drapes and what was wrong. I gave the dimensions, she gave a quote and set up a free technician visit to determine if they believe the stains would come out. If the technician felt the stains wouldn’t come out, they leave and there’s no charge. They take the gamble. If they think the stains will come out, they package up the drapes and return them in about a week. The technician Emil was right on time with the appointment. He’s not just a currier either. He’s actually the tech who will be cleaning them so his assessment is solid. He took the drapes, brought them back on time and the company followed up to process my credit card. So easy. And here’s the best part: I didn’t read the«About Us» section on their website — I just saw that it appeared to possibly be a chain and somehow felt comfortable with it when I called, but it turns out the company is mission-based and sends the proceeds to orphanages in Africa. I only found out about it from the brochure they left AFTER they completed the job. They don’t even use this to sell their services. Here is what the website says: All proceeds from Hands On In-Home Cleaning go towards Hands on Africa — a missions organization involved in Malawi, Kenya and Sierra Leone through Orphanages, Clinics, Widow Care Centres, water wells, etc. They have just started a Baseball Little League program in Kenya. Please check out their website . Well done, Hands On! :)
