Surprisingly good pizza for the price, in Alstead. Located in an old looking strip plaza with a laundrymat and gun shop on NH123 at the Langdon TL. Village Pizza is a very casual pizza place serving up pizza(10″-14″-16″). grinders, clubs, baked pasta dinners, salads, wings, and fried appetizers. The prices here are good, most individual items are $ 3.99-$ 7.00 and a family cheese pizza is $ 10 and a family village special pizza is $ 15. The place is order at the counter with a few self serve booths in the dining room. There are plenty of local newspapers to read while waiting for your order. I ordered a 10″ Eggplant Pizza($ 6.50 plus tax), which was ready in 15 minutes as promised. I was expecting a typical New England Greek style pizza with a thin crunchy crust with oily cheese, which I could finish in one meal. Instead, the pizza here was oven baked in a deep dish pan with a soft crust(semi thick), tomato sauce, and lots of cheese, topped with the minimal small breaded eggplant pieces. The pizza was not greasy and the tomato sauce was not sweet tasting. The pizza was very filling to eat and good enough for two additional lunches. OPEN: Tues-Sat: 11AM-7PM; Sun: 12PM-7PM, CLOSED: Mon
