After tasting their bread at LA Burdick’s, we made a special trip up here to the Breadworks to purchase some for home(the grocery next to Burdick’s only had day-old). The shop was small and rustic, but very nice, and the breads were out and smelled delicious. You bag it yourself and there’s an honesty box for cash or checks. The sign said that bread was baked fresh on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, but we went in on a Monday and the gentleman we spoke to said their pumpernickel was fresh baked that day, that they do limited amounts on the off days. Sadly the bread we wanted, the sourdough rye, is a special order for Burdick’s that is unavailable to the general public, sob! We paid $ 5/loaf for pumpernickel and challah, so we wouldn’t make it an everyday thing, but make a special trip when we have the yen for high quality bread.

Great little farm stand where you can purchase Noah’s artisan breads direct at the rustic wood-fired brick oven bakery. I brought home a beautiful rosemary olive bread; the bakery also mixes in some weekly specials. Noah not only produces great bread — he’s helpful and passionate about his craft. The website says you can also find his breads at lots of other regional markets and a few restaurants(like Burdicks in Walpole). Noah also has a smaller outdoor pizza oven(earthen, I think?) which he said he uses for weekly community pizza nights in the summer. I’m very sorry my visit didn’t coincide with one — it sounds lime a great time.
