Ponci Burrito Express

Omg the chicharron burrito is so yummy and the menudo on Saturday wow best. Also the people is so friendly the only bad thingy is at lunch time is packed, the street taco stand on Friday night wow so oooo yummy. I highly recommend this place.

First time here I just started working in the Area so I started to check out a bunch of new places to eat I have tried cafés your local fast food joints but today I was craving burritos so I stopped by this place and WOW!!! Their food is so authentic and tasty I loved it! I will definitely come back and recommend to friends and family in the area.

Today was my first time here. I had driven past this place time and time again, but I hadn’t tried it out yet. I was craving a burrito, so today was the day! The girl at the cashier was very sweet and friendly. I ordered a carne asada burrito with everything, and it was absolutely delicious! I haven’t had a burrito that tasty in a long time! I will definitely come back here again!

Called to place an order for pickup. It’s Saturday night and they don’t have burritos because it’s taco night. It’s called «BURRITO express».

one star is generous. The lady behind the counter needs an attitude adjustment. I didn’t purchase, we left and went across the street to El Patron where I got service with a smile. Smiles keep the $$ coming. Maybe that’s why there was no one in there. Keep it up your doors will be closed! RUDE!

I was passing through the neighborhood and was craving Mexican food for lunch. I am so glad I passed up taco bell and came here. The burrito was fantastic and the service was friendly.

The food is good they go throw employees like trash bags… probably cuzz she doesn’t pay them right
… she should buy gloves foe her employer and fix the tables outside… smelled like piss. Overall the cook she deserves better… …

Food was tasty, had the chipotle chicken burrito. Unfortunately, there were numerous chicken bones in the burrito. Also i didnt feel especially well after eating that burrito. Probably wont come back.

This place was pretty good, I had a chicken torta and it was great! Really inexpensive, quick service and the ladies there are really nice. I will be back.

I wasn’t very hungry, so I only meant to eat half of my carnitas burrito (with sour cream)… BUT I CONSUMED THE WHOLE THING.
After hiking the Gabrielino Trail, my friend and I Unilocaled «burrito»; her boyfriend had tried burrito express, so we came here. They have all the fixins laid out for your selection and they are very generous with all their ingredients, especially the meat! I was expecting to get the meat they had already cut up, but my burrito-​maker lady opened a glass display case with chunks of meat, grabbed a huge one, chopped it up, and put all of it in my burrito. Honestly, I was a little bit appalled by the amount of meat. It ended up being great, though (no longer appalled). The only complaint about the meat itself is that there were a few bits that were a bit dry and tough, but overall, the carnitas were delicious.
I have to give special attention to the tortilla and the kindness of my burrito-​maker lady. I don’t know what they do to it, but their tortilla was really good! Also, my burrito-​maker lady (as well as the owner (?)) were very amiable. When I asked for extra onions and cilantro, my request was fulfilled with a smile. In addition, my friend was trying to decide between the orange agua fresca and horchata when the owner offered her a sample of the agua fresca. She went with the horchata (which was decent: a little on the grainy side and I like my horchata super sweet and Ponci’s is moderately sweet).
They have no credit card minimum, but they charge $ 0.40 to swipe, so bring cash. They also have a punch card: for every $ 10 you spend you receive a stamp and after 10 stamps, a free something or other. There’s a parking lot and street parking. Also… the burrito was $ 5!

I used to love this place, but they go through soook many employees. This place is dirty, they do not ise gloves and there food got me sick. The owner Leticia is a b***h and she is rude. Their prices are never consistent and I rather go up the street. I always try to help out the small business in the area but when it isn’t recipricated then I wash my hands. Im filing a complaint for the conduct and not following health code regulations.

My father used to collect Orchids in Mexico in the 1940s and 50s. His best friends grandmother was Mrs Corson who Corson street in Pasadena is named for. She was a little old lady who had yearly fiestas where she made very authentic Mexican food. My mother learned her recipes before she married my father. I grew up a Mexican food snob. There were only ever in my youth two good Mexican restaurants in Da Denas, Jack Sullys and La Posada. In my adulthood there was Merida, Meritzas, and NOW in ALTADENA, the best most Muy Authentico Cuisine De Mexico is being served at Ponci Burrito Express. The Chicken tacos are a religious experience and the beef burrito is a earthy delight. going to try the crab torta soon… The FOOD here NAILS IT!

Burritos are SUPER affordable… 4 bucks and authentic and delicious. The horchata was OK, but the pastor was delicious. Had a torta with pastor and avocado. It is a local place. Small but Lety the owner is sweet and has run the business for years. Looking forward to trying the menudo… If you like small local family run quick Mexican this is ur place

Burritos are really great. Skip the tamales – dense and dry. A different refresco everyday and all I tried were good.
If you find yourself in Altadena – this is a quick stop on the way to your next place.

Great street tacos. I cannot get enough of their al pastor tacos. Very irresistible. I also like that the preparers are very observant to who came in ‘when’ so that those that try to ‘sneak ahead’ in line are bit rewarded. :-) definitely a great place to stop for tacos. I am gonna try the Cuban sandwich next time, I think.
