This is a very nice rest area. Lots of trees lots of picnic benches in case you want to relax a very nice picnic. it has’ got a pretty big doggie area. Which is what brought me here the doggies need to use the potty.

Pretty decent rest area. Stopped here at 4am and didn’t have a creepy feeling come over me. Usually, I feel as though I am the lead in a scary movie, but not this time. It was well lit throughout and I felt very safe, especially when I went(alone) to the bathroom.

This is the nicest looking rest stop I’ve ever had the chance to visit. The grounds are immaculate, and the summer flowers were beautiful! Something tells me that it is just as well cared for during the winter months. I do wish there had been more than just a few vending machines, but understand that not all rest stops can be fully decked out with facilities. I was happy to see some playground equipment, as it makes it so much easier for kids when they can stretch and play while on a long trip. It makes it easier on the adults, too! For a simple stop along the interstate, this spot has all one might need.

The gardener for this place is a visionary. I had time to kill and it was nice being amongst the greenery with birds chirping. Had a change machine for the vending machines which is always a plus. Didn’t use the bathrooms but a silent janitor kept a dutiful vigil upon the grounds so I’m sure it’s clean. Had a play area for the rug rats too. The only drawback is that it seems like it may not be well lit for those who can’t afford lodging. For those that can, Effingham isn’t that far away and they’ve got nice amenities.
