Super 8 Altamont

YUCK. Had to buy 4 air fresheners for our room. The drawers stunk so bad one of my kids asked if someone had pooped in them. Then we had to tag team to keep the toddler from opening the drawers & letting the smell out. The shower water ran a lovely color of rust when I first turned it on. I wouldn’t let my toddler sit down in the tub to bathe. Beds were as I’d expect — basic with weird bed spring music accompaniment if you moved. The small tabletop ironing board was a real treat to use for ironing adult-​sized evening clothes. They were kind enough to stock the room with a fly swatter that, sadly, came in handy way more than I expected. There was a sign at the office about breakfast but all I saw was coffee, styrofoam plates, and cereal. The whole experience was either dirty, inefficient, or frustrating. In summation, PROS: I will never, never, ever have to stay at that place again. CONS: Yes.

Needed a room during the snowstorm. Yes, it’s a super 8, and not the Ritz. What does make this place great is the service. We may or may not lose power due to the storm, they gave us extra blankets, pillows, and even ventured out to get us some food.
Service is exceptional.
