The Do It Yourself Pest Control will never see me again. I wanted to kill the ants in my home, so I ordered a 4 pack Advion Ant Bait Gel from another company for approximately $ 25.00. I decided I didn’t want to wait the 3 days for my order, so the next day I drove to the Do It Yourself Pest Control store in Altamonte. They charged me $ 23.00 for one tube of Advion Ant Gel Bait. As I drove away, I said to myself they must have accidently charged me for a 4 pack, so I turned around and went back to the store. The clerk informed me I paid the correct price, so I told her I wanted to return the Ant Bail. The clerk told me I could only get a store credit, so I told her I would keep it, but I was going to make it my mission to let everyone else know. Everywhere else on the internet one tube sells for approximately $ 8.00 to $ 9.00. This place is a big ripoff.

Hidden in the strip mall of 436 in Forest City, you will find this DIY pest control store which carries fertilizer, pesticides, critter control items, home termite control and Taste of the Wild dog food(both canned and dry for puppies and adult). I believe, while small in size, the store offers a wealth of knowledge and experience. You really can’t find better on price or quality. So check it out! Only open during the day.

This place is easy to miss– tucked into a little strip center along busy 436 just west of Altamonte Springs. We’ve paid for pest control in the past but I wanted to see what this little place offered. Besides, professional pest control is pricey and the workers who come out to the house never look like they are doing THAT much. When I walked in I was almost overwhelmed by the smell of chemicals. I was greeted promptly and quickly helped. Dan Shaw walked me through all of the treatment options and explained how to apply. It seemed so easy! I’d seen a couple of roaches so he hooked me up with roach bait($ 20 for a little syringe that you only need apply every 6 months) and professional strength Termidor for the exterior. A fairly small bottle of concentrate was a whopping $ 99 but Dan told me if I applied it every 6 months as prescribed it would last me 6 years! That’s a pretty good deal. Dan was very friendly, informative and helpful. I bought a sprayer too– all in all spent about $ 150. I won’t be paying for«professional» pest control in my home again!
