I would definitely use The Mortgage Firm again — Brett Lindquist and Christian Plocica came highly recommended and it was for a reason (Michele Nolf did great work as well). I shopped around with about 8 or 9 lenders as a first time homebuyer, and right off the bat I got a great feeling from Brett… while others asked me to contact them when it was convenient for them, Brett immediately set up a time to talk same-​day and asked if it worked for me. I felt this was very professional and courteous.
Another reason I appreciated TMF was that they talked straight to me, saying «you could probably get a lower rate with someone else if you’re shopping around — we pride ourselves on customer service, not simply rates.» As someone who was initially shopping for the bottom line only, this helped me trust TMF in a business sector that is flooded with uneducated swindlers, and ultimately I didn’t choose the lowest rate. Importantly, my wife and I were able to close early on a house that was already on a short 30-​day closing schedule. Christian worked several hours beyond the call of duty creating itemized worksheets for me based solely on hypotheticals in order to help me understand fees, the process, and my own budget. In the end, his good faith estimate was within 2 dollars of the actual closing settlement fees. I couldn’t be happier with how smoothly things went — and I feel like I learned a thing or two about finance, to boot!
