River Run Deli & Takeout

I’ve driven by this place for years and never gave it much thought. After reading the reviews I decided to give it a shot. Boy am I glad I did! The sandwiches were delicious!
This place also rents kayaks and canoes for the river out back and offered art classes at night. As with most places in this area, they advertise ice cream. I haven’t had it, but how could it be bad?
I will definitely stop here again in the future.

Wonderful sandwiches. Fresh ingredients you can taste. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

A great little deli and a gem!
Located just south of the Alton Traffic Circle on NH Route 28, the River Run Deli is the ideal place to stop for great sandwiches, subs, and wraps, which are made fresh to order. This place can get busy on the weekends during the summer. I drive by this deli often while I’m out in the field and the crew highly recommends this place. They offer a good variety of Boar’s Head meats and homemade salads (by the scoop) to choose from.
As you enter the deli, grab a small pencil and an order form and circle the choices of your custom made «build your own» sandwich. 1) Pick a meat (mini mouth or big mouth size) or salad by the scoop (1 or 2 scoops), 2) Pick a cheese, 3) Pick a bread or wrap, 4) Pick your veggies, 5) Pick your spreads/​dressings (28 choices). Also, specialty sandwiches are offered here from breakfast sandwiches to PB&J to the River Run Combo (Genoa salami, bologna, Cappicolli ham, black olives, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, provolone cheese, pepper strips, and choice of spread). My favorite sandwiches are the BBQ Chicken and Smoked Turkey on Texas Toast and I get it loaded with veggies, Swiss cheese and the Wasabi mayo is my favorite spread. The sandwiches are well made and stacked good. Very yummy!
During the warmer months, they also have an outside ice cream window featuring Hood soft serve ice cream and there’s picnic table seating with umbrellas outside the building. River Run also offers boat and kayak rentals too!
