I expect more from a bank than what US Bank, and this location in particular branch, has ever given me. They have messed up in so many major ways. Here are a few fun stories: 1. In general, I don’t think that this branch shows a lot of respect for its employees. As a younger account holder, I’ve been talked down to about my own money, forced to wait for service while one employee chatted with another, and had my financial information(which I consider very private) talked about with little or no discretion in front of other customers and uninvolved employees. Not cool. 2. My husband and I signed up for debit cards for our joint account. The cards never arrived in the mail. We waited for weeks. We called and reported this. We were told that they had shipped. We gave it a few more days, and then went in to reapply. They told us that we would have to cancel the cards that they issued and apply for new ones. We came and did that. Then, after a few weeks, my husband’s card arrived in the mail, but mine never did. I went in alone and spoke to an employee, who promised that my card would be reissued and mailed. That third card did arrive, BUT I had to sit through an excruciating meeting with the aforementioned employee who gave me an unsolicited lecture on how none of this would have happened if I had changed my last name when I got married. None of her business. 3. The Ultimate Bad-Bank Story: When I was in college, I had a US Bank account. I was the primary holder, and my Dad(Steve McCann) was listed as a secondary. When I got married, I opened a joint account with my husband(Stephen Heintz). He was listed as the primary, and I was the secondary. One day, I brought Stephen Heintz’s paycheck(enforced by Stephen) in to deposit. When I got the receipt back, I noticed that the money had been put into the account of Erin McCann and Steve McCann, NOT into the account of Stephen Heintz and Erin McCann. …Ok, I get it, they checked my license and made a mistake. I explain that they’ve put the money into the wrong account. They told me that I would have to withdraw the money and redeposit it into the correct account, BUT there was a 24 hour hold on the check. I wouldn’t be able to correct the mistake until the next business day. I told them that I shouldn’t have to «withdraw» and«redeposit» the money, because it was an error on the part of the bank in the first place. The money had been put into the wrong account. The paycheck of «Stephen Heintz» was put into an account to which the name«Stephen Heintz» was in no way connected. A whole series of tellers and managers told me that nothing could be done. The last woman I spoke to really put the last nail in the coffin. «Well, it was put into an account with your name on it, right?» «Yes, but MY name wasn’t the important one. It should have been put into Stephen’s account.» «Well, the account it was put into is just you and your dad, right? As long as your dad doesn’t steal your money between now an Monday, you’ll be ok.» Seriously. She said that. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – Why two stars and not just one? Two reasons: 1) There is a teller named Andrew who is always friendly, quick, and well dressed. We went to high school together, but we didn’t really know each other. Not only does he always do a great job when I’m in, he always remembers my Mom when she comes in. It’s not like he knows her through me. He just pays attention and knows her from coming in to the bank. 2) Coolest safe ever. It’s big and has neat decorative etching. Studying the vault door keeps me sane while I wait.
