Sheetz

I discovered this chain on a recent trip to Penn State to visit my brother at school… First off awesome donuts! Second cheap gas and other goods in store. Third, great coffee, I also enjoyed the automatic sugar dispeners that measured by individual packet! That’s clever bc I usually overshoot with a normal sugar container by having that I get a perfect cup overtime. Fourth, love the sandwiches !! I’m sure there’s a lot more id like about Sheetz but I was only at one for a short time…

Love Sheetz. Gas is cheap, food is good.

I agree with other reviewer, you can’t beat a Sheetz for convenience and cleanliness. It’s always a pleasure to see the red roof of a Sheetz store in the distance.
This Sheetz is a ‘super’ Sheetz with seating inside and out. It is clean and the staff are helpful. There are tv’s and Wi-​Fi (I think… I didn’t use it). The food is freshly made and delicious.

This is a Mecca for anyone who follows the Sheetz religion. And yes, one day this convenience store will one day dominate the globe.
So, I’m a bit partial to a convenience store, but Sheetz’ model for consistency, cleanliness, and convenience are unmatched by any of their competitors.
This location is a tribute to the entire chain of Sheetz convenience stores. It is large in size and has more amenities than their smaller stores across the region.
Like its other stores you can get Made to Order food (MTOs), gas, coffee (also made to order if you want a latte). It also has a car wash on location.
Anyone visiting Altoona, PA and is a big fan of Sheetz should get off the18th street exit and check out the heart of all Sheetz stores.

Having spent the weekend in Blair County with a good friend of mine a number of times in the past years, I feel like I really should pay some mention to the mother of all convenience stores at some point.
So… Mega-​Sheetz. The good is that because they’ve found a loophole in PA’s idiotic alcohol regs, you can buy six-​packs there, and even drink there if you want! Who’s heard of beer at a convenience store?! Oh yeah, anyone from any other state.
The MTO food there is also a little bit less terrifying than it is in most other locations. But only a little bit. The sheer scale of the place is sort of an experience, as well. I mean, if you’ve been on the road and seen a truckstop like a Flying J or whatnot, you’ve seen a bigger gas station, but it’s not quite the same as seeing a Sheetz bloated to that size.
The bad? Well, aside from the mac ‘n’ cheese bites and the fried chicken and the jalapeño poppers (you know, all the health food,) there’s not much there that I’ll allow to pass my lips. Sandwiches on microwaved bread? Ew ew ew. My tastes aren’t classy, but they’re above that.
The parking lot is always full of little toolbag kids and their stupid-​ass fart muffler cars or lifted trucks. If you like a parade of idiots who think any car with a clutch pedal is a race car and their girlfriends who don’t know better yet, this is the place for you. If you want to safely navigate a parking lot, avoid at all costs.
But really, there’s no Sheetz with a parking lot that’s not chaotic.

Oh this just isn’t a regular Sheetz, this is a SUPER Sheetz. It has everything you need and more. Any craving you may have can be fulfilled in this one-​stop shop. But what makes this Sheetz better than the others, is that you can actually stop and eat here– no need to rush back to the car to eat, just stop, relax and enjoy the modern and fun atmosphere. It’s hard to believe this is a gas station sometimes, and is a strong pride of Altoona.
But if you are in a rush– why not have a touch-​screen drive through where you order what you want, and not even have to turn off the car. Much better than stopping at a fast food chain. So if you happen to be driving by on the highway and need a great place to stop on the way– make this a stop and it will definitely be a great time :)
