Decker Nursery

I give this nursery one star only because of the salesperson who helped me choose urns and plants for the urns. She was helpful, knowledgable and patient. However, when the process of moving and loading the urn bases (which weighed about 250 pounds each) took over 1 ½ hours to complete, I tried to speak to the manager/​owner (?) about getting some staff to help us get on our way. His response was to tell us to «get out.» He told us that we were one of many customers and shouldn’t expect immediate service. We certainly didn’t expect immediate service, we had come to Deckers for an enjoyable spring day to pick plants. We just needed help getting the extremely heavy bases loaded into the car. They were using a forklift to put them in the car, clearly we wouldn’t be able to do it ourselves. The manager/​owners behavior was unwarranted as we had been patiently waiting around for quite some time. In fact, the more we waited, the more we had found to buy. As this is very poor business practice, I’m not sure how they are still in business. We had just spent over $ 900. He then proceeded to follow us to the car repeating various versions of «get out.» He told us we could have loaded the car ourselves because he was 62 and able to do it. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but it was weird and scary. Usually managers/​owners want to help customers in any way they can. So, avoid this place. There are equal nurseries with cheaper prices and better management.

W love this place. The staff is always helpful and very friendly. The plant, flower & tree options are endless and the pricing is affordable too. We even purchase our Christmas tree here as we like to buy a live tree each year.
