Delicious! Basically the only and best dosa option around the area, but it’s really good! There’s plenty on the menu to choose from. Been here definitely more than once and will be going back again.

Okay, I admit it. I had to Google dosas to find out that a dosa is a fermented crêpe made from rice batter and black lentils. It is a staple dish in many parts of India. I had Grilled Chicken dosa with Roasted Peppers, Balsamic Roasted Onions & Arugula. I loved it.

I think the dishes here are all fairly well priced at between $ 10 – 15. They have a lot of really great sounding dosas and the smaller pizza-like version that I can never remember the name of but starts with«u». I got the curry chicken«u» dish as well as the dosa«#5». Great strong flavors. The dosas are massive and nice and crispy. Ingredients tasted fresh even when we took the dishes to go.

This is a great place to get extremely good Dosas. The«classic» Dosa is not too spicy yet keeps all the savour of an authentic Dosa. The variation of Dosa which we took(chicken, arugula and onions) was very nice as well. Overall, it is a very good small Dosa place which I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys Dosas and Indian food.

Just when I was about to give up hope of finding decent food in Amagansett, I tried Hampton Chutney.( Unilocalers, pat yourselves on the back. I went based on your recommendations.) It’s GOOD! I had the seasonal dosa with grilled corn, roasted pepper, grilled onion, arugula, and jack cheese; I ate it with the mango chutney, which is a little spicy, but perfectly so. I also ordered an iced cardamom coffee. The dosa with chutney was delicious. I would get it again in a heartbeat, although I want to try other dosas, as well. My only suggestions for improvement would be to get better fans for inside the restaurant(which is really hot), and add a little variety to the chant/music/whatever is playing. I swear I had to listen to the same piece for half an hour. It’s not that good! But the food makes up for it.

Love this place. I got hooked from the one on prince street. Lots of veggie options. Perfectly thin dosa. My favorite is the cilantro chutney. I also always ask for chopped chillis added to my dosa. The dal soup is also very good. I would stick to the dosas. I had a sandwich once and it was underwhelming.

Yum! We had deluxe masala dosa with peanut and coconut chutneys. And carrot ginger gazpacho. Soooooo good! And we’ve had a lot of dosas in Queens. Cardamom iced coffee was tasty but I really like cardamom a lot. My partner thought it was a little strong on the cardamom. We are definitely going back when we’re out there

Awesome chai ! The dosas are great, being a south indian myself I was pleasantly surprised, they are not greasy and the fillings are creative and delicious. The best thing about this place is the chutney, I loved their peanut chutney and it reminded of something my mum used to make at home. The mango and coconut chutneys were also great. There isn’t much place to sit inside, but there are lots of picnic tables outside or just sit on the lawn outside. Our group loved it ! Great place for lunch or even breakfast. They also have salads and sandwiches.

Dosas at their best in this Indian fast food paradise. Everything is superb except the ambiance. Eat outside and enjoy AmagansettSquare, or take your quickly prepared meal home but inside offers little to add to the experience except the sparse Buddhist experience. The food however is phenomenal.

Great, spicy chai coffee! Dog friendly! Friendly staff, they’re always very cheerful. I love the little park outside. A very serene place to enjoy coffee.

Went in Oct. 2014 four of us had sag paneer and portobello mushroom dosas. I agree basically 100% with the«Jefferey K» review, Excellent encapsulation of our experience. I will add with our entrees the sag was given«o well» reviews and our portobello dosas were vinegary and sparsely filled. We also had the potato leek soup which was watery and poorly spiced. How in the world can this place be given 5 stars??? Seriously??? 5 stars??? Please… :(

Unfortunately did not live up to the hype :(try to call ahead and order for shorter wait — we had a 30 min wait at 2:30pm! We had the curried chicken dosa, the thali and the chicken uttapam. All three dishes were bland :(the tomato and peanut chutney helped a bit, but nothing to come back to

Off Main Street in a small shopping center that surrounds a grassy area, this place is worth grabbing a bite to enjoy picnic-style. The gluten-free dosa is HUGE(good for sharing), but it’s satisfying in a non-gluttonous type of way. I tried the curry chutney– it’s smooth, creamy, and warmly spicy. The soup of the day was a chunky, cool, mango gazpacho that was mildly spicy. If you like milky coffee, try the cardamom coffee– earthy and refreshing with a hint of sweetness.

Hampton chutney, my favorite lunch spot in Amagansett. The dosas are thin and crisp and the soup is delicious. Seasoned perfectly. The staff is pleasant and efficient. There’s never a long wait!

Chutney. Good, right? Dosas and South Indian food. Also good, yes? Yes. Put them together and you have a delicious combination that can be found at Hampton Chutney in Amagansett in the Hamptons. What started off as just a chutney company, Hampton Chutney has since expanded to a full menu restaurant with its original location in the Hamptons, and two locations in NYC. The menu mainly focuses on their dosas and uttapams, but you can also find sandwiches, salads and a number of sides and beverages. I went for one their Grilled Portobello Mushroom Dosa(with Spinach and Balsamic Roasted Onions). You also choose a chutney of your choice, and I chose their Pumpkin. Both were a slam dunk. The dosa itself is thin, light, crisp along outsides and nice and soft around the filling. The portobellos are flavorful, plump, and go real nicely with the slight acidity of the balsamic onions and freshness of the spinach. But, the real star here was the chutney. It had a subtle sweetness and a really amazing spice and heat to it. Sweet and spicy, a winning combination.

So I looked at the reviews and tried to think of what I could add. Sometimes, just sometimes, the reviews say it all and all you have to do is give your own thumbs up. This is one of those times. *Thumbs up* Dosa was delicous, ingredients were fresh, chutney was delicious, there are a lot of options on the menu(enough to please any palate) and it came out QUICK. I guess the only way to make it better would be to make it bigger with more seating! Will be back when I’m in the area. Well done.

I’ve been to Hampton Chutney a few times, make it a point to stop by whenever I stay at my brother’s place in Amagansett. It has always been a wonderful experience. Their dosas are simply delicious and their chutneys — mango being my favorite with the tomato a close second — are divine. Healthy, fresh ingredients and a moderate price make this an excellent choice for a quick, light lunch or a great call for some takeout that you can enjoy on the beach or poolside.

Hampton Chutney is a little restaurant located at the Amagansett square. It is tiny with a couple tables inside and several pick nick tables outside. They main specialty is the dosa, a crêpe-like wrap made of lentil and rice flour that has a tangy sourdough taste. You can choose from several fillings. I am not an Indian food fan but they do have combinations like goat cheese, chicken, spinach and tomatoes, that would please any palate. They have vegetarian options and all the dosas come with a choice of chutney. They have fresh juice and lassi, some choices of sandwiches and a bunch of cookies. So far my best meal in the Hamptons. We went back a couple times.

When I think of summer in the Hamptons, I think of Hampton Chutney for lunch on a nice warm afternoon. I love the dosas with potatoes, chicken and cilantro chutney. The chicken is always so moist, the potatoes are full of ethnic flavors and the cilantro chutney is so refreshing.
