Motel 6

THIS PLACE HAS BED BUGS.
Stayed here last night, and I woke up at 2 in the morning scratching at a bite on my arm. Today the bite turned into a red welt with a rash. I tried to convince myself it wasn’t bed bugs, but when I looked at other reviews, several other people said they saw bed bugs here. Some saw them crawling on the sheets, and some saw blood stains on the pillow cases. Do not stay here!

BLUF: you get what you pay for.
The walls are paper thin and we stayed up most the night listening to a dog whine and people talking. The bathroom is very small with super small towels. I probably wouldn’t stay again even for just one night.

This is my second time staying in this hotel (may 2015 & may 2016) and I have absolutely no complaints. The staff is super friendly and will answer any questions you may have without hesitation and even give advice! The beds are comfortable, they allow pets and the rooms smell so clean! It’s rare to find such a great hotel at such an affordable price after traveling 13 hours and being so tired. I will always stay here whenever I come by Amarillo :)

The lady Mrs. Sonya at the desk was very friendly. My room was updated like the pictures already posted… Great place to stop for the night. No microwave available.

Nothing wrong with the rooms general appearance or cleanliness. 32 inch flat screen hdmi hookups.
Somewhat updated, albeit a cheap and corners cut renovation.
Two stars because A. They charge for wifi. Don’t even try the $ 2.99 wifi. So, $ 4.99 for wifi, average room does NOT come with micro or fridge. You can get one of those for an ADDITIONAL $ 3.00. (Is this a marriott?) Cups provided for free coffee in the morning are MAYBE 4oz. They’re literally the smallest Styrofoam cups I’ve ever seen.
This penny pinching, nickel and diming attitude really left a horrible taste in my mouth about the place. But, the room isn’t bad for the price. Just don’t expect anything to come with it, at least not for free.
EDIT: THEY TRIED TO PASS OFF MY USED TOWEL AS THE NEW «FLOOR TOWEL» absolutely pathetic. DO NOT STAY HERE.

We love Motel 6, this one however wasn’t one of the cleanest ones we have stayed at. The price for Motel 6 was as always great. Dogs of course stay for free!

Long drive for us and both of us catching a cold so we pulled into Motel 6. Staff was awesome, got us settled in (with our small dog) and we ended up staying 3 nights instead of 1 trying to recover. They told us where drug store was and some where to get soup!
Rooms had microwave and small fridge making being sick in a hotel room easier!
Clean, serviciable and economy.
Coffee, close laundry room, and ice made it all the better.
Only draw back was pillows — they needed more when you are sick and trying to prop up in bed! So I bought two to take with me on our yr travels!

I’m happy to say we were pleasantly surprised with the rooms at this location. Everything was clean, smelled fresh, no dust or grim. The water was hot and exactly what we needed at this impromptu stop. The motel is located is located near several places to eat (we had something delivered). If I had to be picky, I would say the towels are thin /​rough, the blanket was thin, and to use your own soap (like we did).
Overall, for this price, it was great and provided us with a much needed full night of rest before hitting the road again.

I’ve been making these trips for about 6 years. I drive from Austin to Amarillo and back in two days. I always stay at this Motel 6! I love the team and their friendliness and the rooms are ALWAYS clean. They are protective of me as a woman traveling alone. % stars!

I was passing through to Albuquerque from Plano and stopped to get a room for the night. The room was over 50 dollars for just one person. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The pillows had little stains and the bed covers had small holes that looked to be cigarette burns which is ironic because my room was non smoking. The bed covers had small stains as well. The floor was still dirty and the plastic for my ice bucket was dirty and sticky. The highway was really loud, you’ll hear it all night. You can also hear other people and the water in other rooms. Lastly, when I first got to my room it was about 9:30 at night and the door was literally wide open… I’m not sure why. Basically if you just want a shelter for the night stay here. If you would like to be comfortable and get a good nights sleep, I recommend staying elsewhere!!! I’m a college student and don’t really have high standards or need fancy things, so I rarely complain but this place was really uncomfortable, even I would splurge a few extra dollars for a decent hotel. There’s not even a little radio clock or coffee pot. You also have to pay for wifi. It’s not worth it.

Exceeded my expectations. Clean, inexpensive and the staff was excellent! Right down the street from the Big Texan if you wanted to have some fun visiting there. Only draw back is we were on second floor and could hear a noise which we thought was coming from the bathroom fan next door and after calling down to the desk found out it was actually from the motel sign on the rooftop. Try and get away from the upper level facing the freeway! Would stay again.

For the price it’s not bad! The beds were clean, the TV worked, the AC worked and there was hot water. Lots of dinner options in the area. Easy access to I-​40. Little bit of mold or mildew in the shower and the floors could have been mopped. Like I said, for the price it wasn’t bad.

The room and bathroom was very clean. Got a good nights sleep as the mattress was very comfy. Staff was friendly. Easy access from the highway. Would definitely stay again when passing through.

Good prices $ 60 for four people. room was very clean. Beds were very nice had a great sleep easy check in and out. No noise and if people had dogs they were not barking or leaving a mess. The area around the building was neat also. Great place to stay and I would tell all my friends motel 6 is the place to stay

Absolutely one of the best Motel 6’s we’ve ever stayed at, the other being in Santa Barbara, CA. And we’ve stayed in many over the years, across the US.
Clean.
Comfortable.
Up to date rooms — well, at least ours was.
Quiet.
Friendly staff.
Everything you want for a quick overnight when you’re traveling.
Our dog even seems happy here.

We were driving from CO back to Austin. Made a reservation on line. Strange how they will only allow you to make one room reservation at a time. Glad we did as when we arrived they were sold out. We had our dog so main reason we booked here. Place is basic but really clean. Bed was comfortable. I like the fact there is no carpet. Feels cleaner to me. Overall I would stay again. The outside needs some paint. Starting to rust in areas. Also need to fix the ice makers. However nice that they had a huge cooler of ice for guest. Great rate if $ 55 for two adults & dog for King bed. All doors face outside. If a real light sleeper may need ear plugs, as people are coming and going all night here. We were coming in while a trucker was leaving.

We were tired and all we wanted was a decent night’s sleep. Getting to sleep was going to be the problem.
We arrived at around 11 PM and after looking for budget friendly hotels, we decided to stay here. I walked in and there were thankfully some rooms available. I asked for a nonsmoking, and we got on our way to our room.
When I got to my room, the key did not work! I had to walk all the way back to the office with my luggage and my pet in tow, down the flight of stairs and into the office again. This is a huge inconvenience at midnight in a sketchy part of town. I saw sketchy looking people outside their rooms and women walking by (doing who knows what) until the police arrived, I sure did feel safe in this area (sarcasm).
So after I walked to the office and the lady finally activated my key, I walked happily to my room looking forward to getting some much needed zzzzz. The very first thing I noticed when entering my room was a STRONG odor of smoke. Mind you, I asked for a nonsmoking room and there were some reminders to not smoke in the room and the room still had a strong smoke odor. I don’t know whether housekeeping can’t get rid of the smell or what the problem is but the smell was unbearable. I literally had to spray some perfume and cover my nose with a cloth just so that I could properly breathe! Once morning came, i was glad to leave.
I would never stay here again! Motel 6 is usually a hit or miss and most Motel 6 I have stayed in throughout the country have been acceptable, even nice, but this was definitely the worse.

Not bad for the price, my stay here was pleasant. Generally the room is clean, bathroom is nice, staff friendly, and make me feel safe (not like some really cheap motels that’s all old and smelly and disgusting…).
The only complaints are the questionable looking towels and wifi… Towels are thin and I don’t like the cream color (we all know they’re supposed to be white)… You need to pay $ 2.99 more to have wifi, it’s not big deal but the speed is worse than those free hotspots and you can only log on one equipment at a time. For people who are checking their phone and laptop at the same time like me, this could be a problem…

Traveling cross country with pets is a nightmare, especially when you are traveling by yourself. This Motel 6 was the nicest one I’ve ever experience. There was no extra charge for my furry friend to stay.
The front office lady was super sweet, I told her I had my beloved Beans with me, and she placed me on the first floor, with ample parking in front of me. What a god send and what good customer service.
The room was chic. It had a modern twist. Platform beds, mounted flat screen, lament wood floors, marble counter tops. The room was clean, had no smell or odors, and the bed was really comfortable.
Way to go Motel 6, mama is impressed. For discount lounging and being pet friendly, it doesn’t get much better than this!

For a Motel 6, this wasn’t bad at all. If I could do half stars, I’d deduct one cuz the toilet wasn’t perfectly clean (it wasn’t heinous, but I noticed the icky part immediately), and there were some dirty/​muddy spots on the floor. Other than those two things, it was indeed very clean, which, let’s face it, is about the best one can hope for at a Motel 6. And the immediate area around it leaves much to be desired.
But the AC was super cold and the shower was piping hot, it was quiet and I did appreciate the bright colors; much nicer than the typical styling of «stark hospital white» usually found at this chain.
It was $ 57 for a single, king bedroom (mattress was a little firm for my preference, but adaquate) on a Saturday night. Yup, that’s how I like to party it up on a Saturday night. Jealous? :-P
