I’m always a fan of torchy’s but this one isn’t as top notch :/staff wasn’t very friendly especially the table runner, and our tacos were missing ingredients.

Stopped in to Torchy’s today on my way back to Fort Worth. I expected the place to be busy and it was. It took us about 20 minutes from the time we ordered until we got our tacos. That would have been fine except once my green chili taco arrived I noticed a long blonde hair in it. I took it back and requested a new one. The server told be it would be right out and she would get a manager. As I was waiting for my fresh taco my girlfriend noticed a blonde hair in her chicken fajita taco. She was disgusted. We were still waiting when we watched one of the girls running food lean over and drag her hair through a taco as she was leaning over to serve a customer. I thought the manager would soon be by our table but he never arrived. I went back up to the front and requested the manager again. He finally came over and I suggested that maybe the girls running the food should be wearing their hair in a pony tail to prevent these sort of problems. He replied that they were all supposed to have their hair in a ponytail and he would let them know. I saw at least five girls running food and none of them had their pulled back. While he did offer to remake the tacos I thought better against it. I thought a refund would have been the proper compensation but that was not offered.

I travel for work and have been to torchys in Dallas, Austin, Houston, Tyler, and now Amarillo. I always comment that this brand survives on a superior product because the service is atrocious and the environment is always dirty. Amarillo made me eat my words. The location was immaculate with every non-used table cleaned. I was greeted and checked on by three separate employees. The cashier was friendly and efficient. I was thoroughly surprised and impressed with the service. As always the food was delicious.

I’ve eaten Torchys many times out of their food truck when I have visited Austin. I always thought it was good, but now having one in Amarillo I have to say it’s great. They use fresh ingredients and always provide quality food. The ace of spades(from the secret menu) was the tipping point though, which is a taco that has a jalapeño sausage link, a fried egg, brisket, green chili queso, shredded cheese, Diablo sauce, and made with a whole lot of love! This thing is huge and beyond delicious. The bar here too is very cool and has a modern look. They have avalanche from Breckenridge on tap which is a favorite of mine so points for that too! This place just became my favorite taco joint. You won’t be disappointed.

This place was absolutely amazing! Totally delicious food. I’m depressed that I now live in Washington so I can’t eat there again unless I go back to Texas which I plan on doing sometime in the future. I loved Texas! But enough about that now to the food. We started with the Green Chile Queso and Chips and that was the BEST queso I have ever had! I could make a pig out of myself on just that! Then I got two tacos I had the Democrat and the Trailer Park(of course I got it Trashy style). Best tacos ever! I got the prickly pear cactus juice lemonade. Wow! That was so refreshing and so dang yummy! Wish I could find it bottled somewhere I would buy it all the time! I definitely recommend this place to anyone I talk to!

I love Torchy’s, but gotta give this one 1 star as a result of screwing up my order. I clearly ordered both tacos with flour tortillas, the receipt even says flour, yet they were both corn! How does that even happen? A first grader could get that right, come on!

I’ve been to Torchy’s several times and I must say, I’m a fan! The first time I went, I got the queso, which is AMAZING! Do not come here, and not get the queso. It is my favorite item on the menu. I also got the Mr. Orange taco. It is salmon and a whole bunch of deliciousness! I have had one other taco, but it just didn’t compare to Mr. Orange. Another thing I find pretty special it their selection of fountain drinks. They are so yummy! Try the Mexican cola! I am giving four stars because, I talked Torchy’s up so much to my coworkers that they finally came.. . and it was so aweful. Each taco I ordered was followed by «were out of that.» I felt like I was in a movie because, it was THAT bad. Then we ended up waiting 45 minutes for our food. It was crazy. But that was one time out the the 10 times I have been and had such a wonderful experience. Highlights: — Delicious Queso — Amazing Tacos — Lil’ Nookies for dessert — Variety of «not your average» fountain drinks — Patio — Fun atmosphere — Full bar

We went here while traveling based on recommendations from friends. It was very fun and there was a great deal of variety, with several vegetarian options. The Independent(portobello and avocado) was by far the stand out taco of all we ordered.

Good tacos and lots of variety. Not to mention, they serve breakfast all day and their mixed drinks and margaritas are very good! The queso is amazing too!

I’ve experienced Torchy’s in Austin and Houston and have grown to expect decent service and food that is worth the wait. My husband and I dined there February 13, 2016. We sat at the bar which was pretty busy. There were 3 people working behind the bar, but we were not able to get anyone to take our drink order for almost 10 minutes. When we got our drinks, my husband’s was wrong. He drank it anyway just because we had waited so long. The girls behind the bar were friendly but nobody seemed to be in charge.(«What drink did I make for you?”-shouldn’t she know that?) We ordered some queso which was yummy as usual. I had the Mr. Pink, which was very dry, even with the sauce. My husband complained that his shrimp taco was dry as well, not what we’re used to getting at Torchy’s. Both tacos looked thrown together. The street corn was spot on, and may have been the best part of our meal. The corn was brought much later than our tacos since the person who took our order admitted that she«forgot» to put the order in with our other food. All this together made for a real disappointment for us, mainly because our experiences at Torchy’s have always been great even when it’s busy.

I always enjoy this place. My favourite thing to order is fried avacodo taco and portabella mushroom taco. They are divine.

Really great food and atmosphere! I’m just passing through and it was a nice place to run into. Huge burrito and a lot of salsa for under $ 10. Really yummy. Wish I could have enjoyed a beer at the bar, tvs and good atmosphere. Tho no pets on their patio, and I had picked the place so my dog could get out of the car, so just don’t bring Fido! They were nice about it, so no complaint!

Had the trailer park taco trashy style… it was sooo good. Also tried the Republican taco… was good but not as good as the trailer park. Also got the green chili queso and chips… had good flavor not to spicy. Was told they make their own sodas and figuring out exactly what each one was was a little confusing.

Being from Austin, it was nice to see something from home. Not as good as the Austin locations but the atmosphere is very Austin-ish. Ate here on the night of the snow storm/blizzard.

Best road food, ever! Hit Amarillo at just about lunch time, traveling light and fast from the east, destination Dallas. Needed to eat. I scanned those dozen or so signs that indicate what is coming up at the next stop: Bleck, Disgusting, Gross, People Eat That?, and … Torchy’s !! Torchy’s??? Torchy’s !!! Tacos, baby, that’s what you get at Torchy’s. And not just any tacos. Brilliant, creative, delicious tacos with fresh ingredients. I had an ahi taco and a salmon taco and after I felt light, invigorated, and ready to roll. None of that fat, sleepy drive through regret that sadly happens all to often on road trips. So bookmark this one, darlings. And next time you’re tearing across the open road and feel that hunger coming on, remember Amarillo … Amarillo … Torchy’s … Torchy’s …

I can’t help it… I love taco’s and Torchy’s does it right! The Baja Shrimp is Delish… I don’t even mind that the service is way rude, like really super rude. Example: we picked up a to-go order, the bartender(which is where you pickup your take out orders) looked me up and down and apparently didn’t like what he saw so he moved onto help the next person in line(who graciously told him to please help me, as I was next in line). He practically threw our bag of tacos across the bar. Want lime for that taco? Get it yourself sister.

I’m a huge fan of Torchy’s where I live and though usually I don’t go to places I can go at home when I travel I made an exception for Torchy’s because it just sounded good for breakfast. I’d say the Torchy’s here is almost as good as the one at home. The only difference I noted is that toppings on my trashy trailer park were a bit sparse compared to what I get at home and what I had on my migas taco(which was huge and awesome). Torchy’s queso has ruined me for other quesos and this location’s was no exception. Thumbs up!

I was so happy when they brought a Torchy’s to Amarillo! I have been to the trailer park original and in Dallas, and this one holds its own! The staff is friendly and helpful, making sure they repeat your order to you to make sure they got it correct. Their green chile queso is a great appetizer, and I love their beef and chicken fajita tacos on corn. Be aware that you may need a fork to finish these tacos as they spill over the sides, but the mess is worth it! I look forward to coming back and eating here many more times before the summer is up!

Still think this place is great! They got my order right this time ;) Food: — The Green Chile Pork: large helping of tender pork with some cilantro and onions. delish! Reminds me of the tacos I find in Arizona. — Mr. Pink: A large grilled slab of Ahi Tuna. Eh, I think it could have been a little better. I wish it was just more than a huge chunk of fish… Recommendation + Queso dip with Chips: A MUSTMUSTMUST! +White Ranch sauce +Look up their«Secret Menu» for other tacos :)

I really enjoyed The Democrat and Mr. Orange tacos. A little fishy tasting as compared to the other Torchy’s Taco locations(Austin, Houston), but I guess you really can’t get fresh fish around here in the Panhandle so I’ll let that slide. Chips and salsa are smokey with just enough kick. The line looks daunting but the service is friendly and fast. The restaurant and restrooms are clean. Definitely recommend coming here for a different twist on tex-mex food.
