I came here with a friend and didn’t have any expectations for this place. I had never heard of Freddy’s and just assumed it would be similar to Steak N Shake or other fast food places by my friend’s description of it(wrong.) My friend was raving on and on about how good it was when he tried it in Texas and was so happy when they opened here, so we had to get some while we were in the area(we live about 45 minutes away.) I got a burger and it was very good! This is the type of burger you’d want when you’re craving something greasy, yummy, and worth the calories. It’s definitely a fast food burger, but is much better than Steak N Shake, Wendy’s, McDonald’s, etc. The fries were shoestring fries, which I love. The fry sauce is sooo good! Definitely have to make sure you get some while eating here. My friend was unable to get a normal steak burger because he was doing a 30-day fast from meat in honor of a family member’s death(a tradition in our culture.) He normally hates veggie burgers but had no choice but to order one here and surprisingly really liked it! The service was friendly and fast. I noticed that as soon as a party left, the employees cleaned up their tables right away. I took comfort in knowing that they keep their establishment clean! I would definitely come back, but probably not often since it is very out of the way for me. If I had to choose between Freddy’s and Steak N Shake, Culver’s, etc. I would choose Freddy’s!

Absolutely terrible, took 15 minutes to get my malt, once I finally got the malt I couldn’t even drink it because the straw is the size of a quarter. The malt was way to thick had to sit and let it melt before I could start to drink it. Just stick to UDF for ice cream.

Why do steak burger restaurants think that people enjoy teeny-tiny french fries? Its annoying. «Here, want some matchsticks with your giant burger?» This is basically a better version of Steak N Shake. A lot of the same menu items at the same prices but Freddy’s features better sweet treat options and better quality food. The lines are a lot shorter and faster than Steak N Shake, when it comes down to choosing between the two I will opt for Freddy’s. The steak meat is thicker and the presentation, taste are always better. The fry sauce is delicious but I just do not enjoy the size of the fry.

A burgers/fries/hot dog/ice cream place. The fries are the shoestring style, and the burgers juicy, but thin. If you’ve had a burger and fries at steak & shake, it’s similar. The service is here is friendly quick, the soda is appropriately carbonated and fizzy. I was underwhelmed by the Chicago-style hot dog. The bun was a grilled New England hot dog bun, grilled with a crunchy buttery crust, not steamed and soft. I also tried the burger, and would definitely get it again. I’ll come back for the friendly service and California-style burgers.

Freddy’s is new to the area, so I figured I’d check it out shortly after it opened. It’s similar to Steak-N-Shake but with different items to distinguish itself from it’s competitor. Haven’t had the chance yet to try any of their dessert items but I have tried the Philly Cheesesteak and the Original Steakburgers. The latter was okay, nothing spectacular and very similar to it’s competitor. The Philly Cheesesteak though? Amazing. Both meals with fries and drink was less than $ 8, right on target with other fast food restaurants in the area. One thing to not miss is the Fry Sauce. ITISAMAZING! You can even take some home! Definitely check it out if you are in the Amelia area!

So, I’ve had take out from this location a few times now, and here’s my honest opinion. First, the service. We always use the drive-thru, as we’re on our lunch break. The service is quick and friendly. Every time you say something off the menu, the reiterate what you just said by telling you that it comes with X, Y, and Z, then ask you if that’s OK. So, there’s no surprises on cheese or onions or other«offensive» condiments and toppings. The folks at the window are so friendly and courteous. It’s a pleasant change from how things normally are on the east side. Now for the food! The custard is definitely one of the highlights. Amazing. Period. You owe it to yourself to try this stuff out. Tastes like homemade, great texture, and not too sweet. I’d order this stuff every time if I was trying to eat 3,000 calories for lunch. This stuff is worth the trip alone, but there’s more. The burgers. Whoa. Being a Clinton County guy, and having spent a lot of time at Rod’s Capricorn Inn, I know a few things about steakburgers. Freddy’s is on par with Rod’s in this department. I think they both have their pros and cons, but all in all, they’re on the same level. I like that Freddy’s offers all of the usual toppings and condiments, and doesn’t charge you for any of them. The salt level is just right(take notes Steak & Shake), the sear is perfect, juices retained well, so the burger doesn’t dry out. The options are solid, and if you really want one burger to rule them all, the Patty Melt does the trick nicely. Now, for the OK… the hot dogs. I’m a huge fan of chili cheese dogs. Who from Cincinnati isn’t, honestly? These things are gargantuan! One can definitely serve as a meal. The bun is definitely the highlight here. It’s actually a roll, buttered and toasted light brown. It offers an additional layer of complexity to the dog. Where this falls a little short is the chili. It’s a little bland. Chili lovers will be satisfied, but maybe disappointed a bit. It’s not that I wouldn’t recommend this hot dog, but it’s just not for me, and maybe not resound well with Cincinnati folks. All in all, this place is definitely worth the trip. The fact that you can get a double with bacon, all the fixings, fries, and a soda for $ 8.00…I’m sold.

A bit like Steak-n-Shake, a bit like Culvers(frozen custard), with a little bit of Johnny Rockets or Hiway 55 in Eastgate mixed in for a bit of a 50s-ish feel to the place Colored inside and out in bright red and stark white, Freddy’s has gotten plenty of business in the chain-happy area between Withamsville and Amelia on SR125. There is a ton of free parking, lots of inside dining space including a few booths, and a drive thru. Most of the staff are high-school age kids who overall were enthusiastic and engaged in what they were doing. I have yet to try the burgers yet, which look decently good, but I was not impressed with either the Vienna Beef Hot dog(2.99)(despite the fact that it was on a nice grilled New England style roll) or the chili cheese fries(3.99), which were shoestrings that were nicely crispy and well covered, but neither the chili nor the cheese had much flavor, so they only provided a textural contrast. I also did not like that that the smallest size available for this dish was more than enough for two people, since this is typically eaten with a fork and therefore something most folks wont want to share. Be aware that this dish comes topped with diced onions by default — which I liked, but some might not — but this isn’t mentioned on the menuboard. I’ll add that in addition to ketchup, they also have something called«fry sauce» available at the self service counter where you get napkins, straws, and the like. It looks a lot like the sauce you’d get at Raising Canes, which is to say it looked like a thin thousand island dressing, but I did not sample it I cant honestly recommend this place for now, but it isn’t all that far from where I live, so I will be back to try the burgers at some later date UPDATE20151128: went back for steakburgers and frozen custard. The burgers are in every way near exact clones of the steakburgers at Steak N Shake. If you like the one, you’ll like the other. The shoestring fries, same thing, identical at both places. I was surprised that the frozen custard, which was excellent, was dipped out like a hard ice cream, even though it isn’t hard at all. Raising rating to a 3

I’m in trouble because this place is sooo goooood! it’s like steak & shake only because they serve steak burgers except WAAAAYYY tastier. Steak & Shake is cheap because you get the quality you pay for. The burgers are so flavorful here & I love the crisp pickles they put on the burger & the shoestring fries are always hot & fresh. Love this place, my husband & I have been here 5 times in the short time it’s been open.

I’ve been hitting up Freddy’s in Bowling Green on my way to Nashville for a couple of years now. I am a HUGE fan. I was excited to find out they were opening a few locations here in Cincinnati so I had to go right over and try it. The place was PACKED and seats were hard to come by, but I snagged a booth and my food was up super fast. I ordered the chicken, it’s amazing! The burgers are thin, steak n shake style burgers, and they’re good too! Put the seasoning on everything and get the sauce! EEK! So good! :)

The line was quick and service was friendly. I only ordered a patty melt but it was amazing. Better than it’s competitor(Steak ‘N Shake because of service speed, quality of food, taste and overall a better value. Extensive menu items is a major plus.

I give the frozen custard 5 stars — tastes like homemade ice cream— soooo good. Haven’t tried the food yet, but soon I will

Decent burger, great fries, very busy. Good to have a good burger place close to home. Look forward to trying other things on the menu.

I think Freddy’s has been open for a week or so. My wife and I decided to give it a try last night. The best way to describe it is a lot like steak n shake but with better ice cream. I recommend the orange fries sauce(not sure what it’s called but it was good)
