Ames old public library was never bad, I always liked the layout and they had nice rooms for concerts and activities. But they really really really upped the game with this new library!
What beautiful building! They have a great selection of everything from books, to periodicals, to dvds, to music!
The new performance space is just stunning, with big windows and comfy chairs!
I was here last night for a musical performance and it was just great!
The staff is really nice, the place is clean, fun and educational for all ages! This is great! Well done on the new building Ames!

I love the Ames Public Library. It’s beautiful, has a fantastic selection, and is fully up to date in terms of library/​computing technology. You don’t have to scan books! The counters read and check out all the books in your pile for you. That’s fun.
Online portal is very handy and it’s easy to reserve items. They also have electronic format offerings for most books. Awesome.
DVD selection is also great. Instead of paying to rent a movie through iTunes or Netflix, check the library first.
Staff are very helpful and nice. Overall, it’s a great place to spend some time.

Well little Ames is doing some big things with this library! This library is not only beautiful but incredibly eco friendly.
Books beyond books, spaces for community gatherings, computers, study space, and even a play space for the little ones. The staff and volunteers are also incredibly sweet and helpful.

What a neat and modern library! I love all the places to «plug in» — very helpful for studying.
The children’s area is awesome with lots of open space. I am pleased the library decision-​makers realized the need for children to have physical play; development of the body goes hand-​in-​hand with development of the mind!
Will definitely come back on our way through town!
