Good old Fareway is a blast from the past! Think of the movie Pleasantville where all the world is black and white except Fareway! The kids who pack the groceries still bring them to your car, the meat butchers have the biggest smiles and the weirdest paper hats! This is the type of grocery store that makes me want to buy sugary cereal and glass bottled soda! A step into yesterday and it still makes me smile today!

Absolutely great grocery store. One star because one of the butcher called Adam, he just looks like doesn’t want to service his customer.

I like Fareway. It’s where my mom and grandma shopped when I was growing up, so I have fond memories. Every Fareway, even the brand new ones, smell the same(Eau de meat counter???). It’s a familiar smell, a familiar place. The produce is always fresh and they have a surprisingly good selection. The meat counter is fantastic. Everything else is organized in a way that doesn’t make any sense, but I’m sure I’ll get used to where things are. The checkout process is a little confusing. I never know which side of the checker to go on, because instead of having long checkout conveyor belts, they are really short. Tip: I think you go to the right side… but don’t quote me on that. Customer service at Fareway is top notch. They carry your groceries out to your car whether you ask them or not. That’s something you don’t see anywhere else anymore. Hats off to you, Fareway, for your old school chivalry. Fareway is, unfortunately, not open on Sundays.

I like Fareway. A lot. It’s not flashy. They don’t have a gas station. They have food, and it’s priced right. They don’t mark up the cost of the groceries to make up the loss they’re taking on gas or a pharmacy or anything else. They don’t spend a ton of money on a celebrity chef for their commercials. They sell food. Their meat counter is amazing. The best meat, and the guys know what they’re doing. It’s like a corner butcher shop. Again, it’s not overpriced.

Long time shopper for three reasons. 1. Cost. It’s the most economical grocery store. 2. Selection. I don’t need 100 choices of cereal or ISU t-shirts and BBQ grills. I want to get in and out without isle after isle of things I don’t need. 3. The meat department is the best in town. I’m a downtown store shopper but folks love the newer store up north. Remember they are not open Sundays or most holidays.
