Dude. Super dog is an Ames classic. You just have to try it at least once. $ 4.50 for a hot dog isn’t cheap, but you always get .50 cent piece back which is kind of cool. I go for the veggie without cheese. It has ‘fakin bits too, which is awesome. I have never regretted a super dog. It’s been there for me my entire college career. I love super dog.

so good. long lines and $ 4 for a dog seems pricey but it’s so good! I don’t like hot dogs but I love super dogs. great flavor and quality beef hotdogs.

Nothing compares to eating a super dog after a night out at the bars. For $ 4 you cannot go wrong! Be prepared for long lines(especially during VEISHEA), but it is most definitely worth the wait. They also have their stand in the tailgating lots during football games. I also recommend trying the Gyros stand as well! If you live in Ames and haven’t tried a Super Dog yet, you are truly missing out on something special!

This thing is creative and a bit addicting, especially when you’re in need of some carbs to soak up earlier activities… but you have 3 employees working… yet the one that handles the money also handles the food with his same unsanitary gloves? Well guess what, you’re getting more than you’re paying for… Google«how dirty is,» and you don’t even have to type«money,» it’s already the first thing to pop up: «It has been well-known for decades that paper currency is a major source of disease transmission. During the life of the average dollar bill, it will be handled by hundreds, if not thousands, of people. It is hard to think of any physical object that is handled by more different people than paper currency. Millions become ill every year as a result of handling currency, and a not insignificant percentage of them die. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) estimates that 36,000 Americans die each year from flu-related causes.» Read more: Currency that kills — Washington Times

Few things are better after a long night at the bars than a Super Dog.

I’ve tried many times to explain(and convince) my peers in ATX that a Super Dog is the most delicious thing you could possibly put in your mouth. Usually the reaction is some variant of: «Pineapple on a hot dog? Get out of here. Mmmmm bacon.» It’s worth the wait and WAY better than heating up that Totino’s pizza that’s been sitting in your freezer for 7 months. If I’m in Ames, drinking on Welch, and the super dog stand is open, you better believe I’m parking my butt in that line until my Veggie Super dog with extra pineapple sauce and extra chips is safely delivered into my outstretched hands.
