What a great shop! Good selections of games, gaming supplies and comics. What they don’t have they are happy to help you find. The staff(Hey Chris!) are very friendly, SUPER knowledgeable, and always fun to chat with. Great prices and lots of selection.

The selection of comics here is pretty decent for a smaller shop, and the merchandise is also really cool for having a smaller selection. I have encountered a few really cool employees(one guy spent a while rapping out with me about Superior Iron Man while looking for old Invincible Iron Man issues) and a couple employees I would be just as happy never talking to again(one guy was incredibly condescending about me being a woman who read comics and asked whether I was shopping for my boyfriend).

I’m not a Comic Book person, so I feel like that’s the first disclosure I should make when reviewing a comic book place. However, I love comic book places because they normally have board games, figurines/figures, games, video game stuff, and more that you can’t find any other place. Shield Comics and Games is the same in that aspect. It should be said that the focus of this shop is, by far, the comic books. They have TONS of comic books. They have a small wall with board games, a small selection of Magic/Pokemon cards, a small glass case of pretty comic book figures, and Warhammer figures and paints. They also have a pretty large gaming area — from what I saw, it seems like it mostly is used for card games and Warhammer stuff. Staff was super helpful. They were quick to ask if I needed anything when I walked in the door, and when I inquired about something they didn’t have, they seemed truly apologetic that they didn’t have it. He informed me about specials, and I ended up purchasing something on sale. Check-out was really smooth and it just generally was a positive experience. They even have some Game of Thrones comic books that I might come back and purchase. I love the logo and store name. I’m not sure how much effort and thought went into thinking about it, but with the huge popularity of the Marvel movies and SHIELD franchise, I hope their logo and name will help bring in Marvel-lovers who wouldn’t otherwise step into a comic book store. So I really hope that works well for them. Final thoughts: This isn’t really my usual type of store, and I’m not sure I have a reason to come back, but if there’s every a need to come back, I have absolutely no qualms about coming. I wish they had more video game/figurines/non-comics, but as a comic-book store, they’re doing fantastically. I love the welcoming atmosphere.
