A&E serves surprisingly good coffee from a horrible location(a strip mall infested stretch of NH highway). Seriously, if you weren’t looking for this place you would probably never even notice it let alone brave the left turn across 101. Once inside you are greeted with a pleasant interior that kind of feels like the inside of someone’s house. The cappuccinos are rich and strong and only come in one size, which is always a good indicator of quality to me. There is also a small selection of baked goods, which go well with the coffee but aren’t really worth getting on their own. I’m not sure what is holding back a 5th star for A&E, maybe the foam isn’t quite right or the flavor wasn’t bold enough, I can’t say for sure which means they are very close in my estimation. If you are in the Nashua area you should definitely make the trek up to A&E, its a very good coffee shop.

My boyfriend and I each got lattes that were house specialties. He tried the honey nut and I got a turtle latte. They were definitely good but nothing I would make a special effort to go get again. We both asked for no foam but ended up with foam in our drinks. However, since it didn’t take up ¼−1/3 of the cup like at some other coffee shops we didn’t bother asking for our drinks to be remade. I would like to see a larger variety of unique latte options that can be ordered but they may not offer that since they seem to be a small operation that can easily get backed up. Great atmosphere inside and the food looked good(broccoli, cheese and bacon soup? Sounds like a winner to me!). The outside by the entrance could use some cleaning up though as it looked messy and a little rundown but maybe they just haven’t been able to do a Spring cleanup. Fun retail offerings and I stumbled upon Pistachio Shortbread loose leaf tea which was a delicious find but true to form a positive aspect of this place had to get tarnished by something else. In this case there was no price on the tea so the employee working charged me what she thought the price probably was which of course was on the higher end of their price scale of teas. In my opinion if you really don’t know the price then the customer should be given the benefit of the doubt and charged the lower rate. All in all there I would go back, especially on a cold fall or winter day or if I was in search of a fun gift for a tea/coffee lover but I don’t think I’m going to make it a regular stop despite the fact that I drive by in at least 6 times a week.

One step inside and you can tell they know what they are doing. Measuring their grounds, tamping well, etc, all produced a great cup. Microfoam was not perfection, otherwise it would have been 5 stars. Will be coming back for sure, not enough of these places around.

A cute local shop with very well made drinks. The only problem was the signs to find were not as vivid/noticeable as could be.

Great, fresh coffee. Good pastries. They roast their own coffee, need I say more…

Delicious espresso beverages, pretentious staff. No smile. No thank you. The drinks do take awhile to get to you, but they are handcrafted so I expect that. As good as they are, I don’t feel welcome here. If my husband and I are in the area we stop here, but we don’t go out of our way to do so. The shop itself is nice, and I am always intrigued by their retail area. I’m just not in love with them.

I have been going to A&E since its inception, the staff is always trained very well and extremely friendly. Their coffee(as well as other coffee-based and espresso-based drinks) selection is great and it’s so refreshing to have something that is roasted in-house. The coffee has been made a bit weak for my liking at times, but then other times I cannot complain about it. After getting a few cups of unpredictable coffee, I started to purchase red-eyes which are an extremely strong burst of espresso and coffee. That’s when things started really taking off for me. Their espresso is truly where it’s at. Because the baristas are so well-trained in making an espresso, the true flavor of the coffee comes out and it’s bold rich and deliciously earthy with undertone after undertone of pure richness. I love the vibe here and the owners. My favorite blends are the Mexican and the Sumatra.

This is a great coffee shop. Employees are laid back and friendly. The coffee is so great that my wife and I have quit going out for coffee in the mornings on the way to work. We’ve decided the coffee we buy here, while slightly pricey, is better than any other coffee we could stop and get. We also love the mug we bought that includes lifetime $ 1 refills.

Great local coffee house with a thoughtful, if a little busy, interior. Really enjoy the nooks and cranny sitting spaces; as if your not sure you have left a retail space and wandered into a bed and breakfast or someone’s house. In this sense it is the anti-Starbucks. Orders are not prepared particularly efficiently, but I suppose that’s not why I would choose to go there. The coffee is good. Ahh, sweet caffeine.

Never been here before but wanted something different than chain coffee places. Ordered the Dark Chocolate latte w/soy milk and the cashier offered a suggestion to try the Coconut Mocha w/almond milk. I thought I’d try it and I’m so glad I did. It was fantastic! I will definitely come back here soon.

I’d go with«I’m a coffee snob» but that wouldn’t be entirely accurate. I’d say I’m just picky about where my coffee is sourced, how it’s grown and traded and finally the kind folks that prepare it. Luckily this place has all those and more. What appears to be a small coffee shop is actually more spacious than you’d assume with room for seating, couches, some kids books and toys, and places to do work(ugh– work). Their tea selection is phenomenal and I mean phenomenal. They have loose leaf teas you can smell and gawk over and the helpful staff with indulge your every question with knowledge and enthusiasm. I don’t live in the area but when I am visiting the awesome antique shops on Amherst St. I like to stop in here first!

It’s amazing to see some reviewers praising the coffee and others adamantly disapproving, not of just A&E’s but any given café’s or coffee house’s. To tell you the truth, I don’t believe any of it. I believe a blind taste test would yield very different results. It’s all fabulism. I do know this. A&E is a delightful and serene little environment, which offers ample comfortable seating in the back room. The place has a historic vibe to it, and its bookshelves are lined with rigorous books on logic and philosophy. I picture seated quietly in the back room in the arm-chair by the standing globe an introverted philosopher, hunched over the worn pages of an old book, devouring its contents in order that he or she may internalize the fundamental structure of reality. What you actually hear is a lot of idle conversation about gossip and the mundane; but this is no fault of A&E’s, nor would they wish to discriminate. A&E eo ipso is a place for all types; it’s a place where you can sit in peace and enjoy a good old-fashioned cup of coffee.

New food options are awesome and the coffee is still amazing! I usually go with either a nut and honey latte or the dark chocolate latte. Both are always great and keep my coming back.
We just moved to the area from Wisconsin. We actually started using A & E when we were house hunting. I am impressed by the quality of the product, the friendliness and knowledge of the staff and general comfortable setting.

Small shop, people that worked here are nice but it felt like they were in slow motion. My Chai Latte, was 98% water, it was esentially Chia flavored water. My wife’s espresso was incredible, i wish i had ordered that. One hit one miss, decent selection. Sugar area was not well maintained, sitting areas seem to be an after thought tucked away in the side.

I saw all the great reviews and was so eager to come here. First let me say that this place is very difficult to find. My GPS actually indicated that it was on the opposite side of the street. Well I finally found the place and when I came in, I was greeted very nicely. Perhaps I was spoiled by the«Rook Roasters» in Jersey, but I expected a lot more. First let me say that the regular coffee is from a free standing dispenser. I could have gotten that kind of coffee for free at my hotel. I was expecting them to fresh brew it, to recommend a blend. Rook!!! You set the bar so high! I asked for what special coffee they are brewing today and the younger girl looked at me like I was an alien. The experienced lady offered to me that the regular coffee are the ones in the canisters. Man was I bummed, but I came about a mile out of the way. For this place and all they have for regular coffee was this canister. Which I ended up getting the bottom of! Coffee was OK. Nothing special.
