Fantastic service and high quality work! I called on a Friday afternoon requesting replacement of 5 locks. Derek returned my call in minutes and was at our house later that afternoon. He replaced all 5 locks in less than an hour and was excellent to work with. The price was very reasonable too. I’m a tough critic when it comes to contractors and work in my house and deserved all 5 stars!

I just ran into Derek of Amherst Lockworks and told him I’d written a Unilocal review last year after he installed our super duper handsome locks on our garage and front door. It turns out I’d written my glowing review on Angie’s List, not Unilocal.So I’d like to say the same here for anyone looking for a reliable locksmith.
Derek fit me in at a busy time when we were about to go on vacation and needed a new lock ASAP. He answered my phone message right away, showed up, and did the job well. The locks he suggested and installed are handsome yet tough. All the keys he cut worked. He’s a quiet, hardworking locksmith who didn’t push expensive things on us – just a sturdy deadbolt lock and handset locks that do the job. He lives near Amherst, so that was a plus since we like to use local, trustworthy people.

Derek changed locks for me, and added some new ones… he was great! He was punctual and very nice; he even re-​aligned a deadbolt for me, so the door locks much more smoothly now. Derek also engraved each unit’s number on the keys he made, which was a great touch and will be useful when soon enough I am rummaging through a drawer of keys. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a locksmith.
