Stuff is super dated. Prices were insane. $ 500 for a used chair? Wha? If you are looking for a bargains or anything unique/vintage keep driving.

They claim the consigner gets 65% but they price the items really low and then tack on a «storage fee» to the sale price that the buyer pays and that is not shared with the consigner but goes entirely to the store. This is not always disclosed up front but can be found in the fine print of your inventory sheet. They will also charge you a fee for the checks they write when your items sell. Worst of all when I went to claim my «unsold» items they had vanished without a trace or an apology

After shopping AND consigning in this Consignment store for years, I was taken aback during my last visit about a month ago. Vickie, the original owner passed away a few years ago, and her husband and son carried the business on. When I walked in, there were some noticeable«differences»…I didn’t recognize even ONE employee, there seemed to be fewer«nice» items, the«fine» jewelry was ALL from a Jewelry store,(or at least a Jeweler) with RIDICULOUSLY high RETAILSTORE prices… I specifically ASKED if the store was still owned by the same family, and I was told that yes, it was. After browsing around and not seeing ONE item I wanted, I decided to walk upstairs which had always been vintage kitchen items, vintage garden ornaments, kitchen tables and bookshelves. Imagine my surprise to walk up the stairs and find myself facing 30 or so MATTRESSES and Box Spring sets ! ! Hhhmmm… is this a Consignment Shop, or a Sleepy’s Mattress Outlet? In any event, after 15 or so years, I saw enough and won’t be going back. I can find junk and over-priced jewelry anywhere… the stores CLEARLY been sold and all the old employees must have been let go. It’s not worth the trip.

Stopped in here with the little time lately(baby on board!) Prices seems to be all over the place. I spotted a rocking chair that I fell in love with, but price-wise not so much. I will have to wait for that one to drop in price or re-listed for much less! Store is still the same layout and selection is consistent. It was good stopping in … got some nice holiday finds and one unique decoration piece for the nursery :)

A nice clean consignment shop with a ton of things to choose from. My only issue: I find the staff to be a little rude and sometimes act like they are doing you a favor. I’ve experienced this many times!

Surprisingly large, with tons of choice, when it comes to furnishings. Some antique, some vintage, some gently used… We came in with something absolutely specific in mind. Alas, they did not have it. However, if we weren’t already up to our ears in furniture, there were a few things that would have come back with us, in the car. If you need tons of furniture, it would be well worth your time, to trek up here. There’s a slew of Consignment places near here, so if you don’t find what you want, you may be able to score in a nearby joint.

Hit or miss, like many consignment shops. I consign here several times/year. It’s extremely handy because they mail your check automatically. You don’t have to request a check and they don’t hold your balance at the store, you just get a check once/month if you have items that sold. On the down-side, to get an appointment takes 3 – 4 weeks because they’re SO popular. Also somewhat annoying is the fact that certain items of mine they have refused to take before(items in perfect condition), HOWEVER when I was there once I saw what WOULD have been a REALLY nice cut crystal pitcher… except someone had clearly just had lemonade in it & not bothered to wash it because there was dried pulp all along the inside. GROSS. That really turned me off. But I have found good deals here before. Check the clearance area under the stairs. Wall art & mirrors you can usually find great deals. Definitely found some over-priced items, as any where. But I have found some great deals here. Just have to be patient. They do ***NOT*** take credit cards. Cash or check only. Christmas items — they start making appointments to look at Christmas items in August(call in August to make an apt later on). They stop looking at Christmas items the first week of December. Prices are all over the place, frequently. I’ve had the same experience here, that the employees can be quite rude, acting like they’re doing you a favor when you’re shopping here. They should be friendly & gracious with both consignors AND customers. That’s the only way they make money, they need both consignors AND customers, & as such should be friendly to both. When you consign here, they expect you to carry heavy items(sometimes upstairs) yourself, they won’t help at all. Same thing when you purchase an item, they won’t lift a finger. If something has to be put together or taken apart, they don’t help at all & leave the consignor or customer to do it themselves. All they do is literally put price tags on items when you consign & ring people up when they purchase them. They can’t even fix their own network. The last time I sent my husband down with a car load of items, their network was down. He fixed it for them, for free, & they didn’t even offer us store credit for his time. TACKY! Because he was willing to fix it for them for free, they saved money by not having to call their networking guy(since no one there could figure it out) — the absolute least they could have done for him was to offer him store credit for his time, & they didn’t even do that! They are ridiculously picky about what they take. They don’t take single cups. They don’t take used cookbooks if the cookbook has a gift message in pen in the front of the book, even if the book is in perfect condition otherwise. They’re selling used items. That means they’re not going to be 100% perfect because it’s not brand new. A gift message does not take away from the integrity of the cookbook — it is still 100% readable which is the point of a cookbook! The only reason I can see that someone would not want to buy a used cookbook with a gift message in the front is because they want to give it as a gift too, in which case they should be buying new or at least checking the front of the book. Another stupid rule that makes no sense. They don’t take collectible porcelain dolls except at Christmas time even if the doll is NOT a Christmas-themed doll. Since when is a plain collectible porcelain doll a Christmas item? The answer? It’s not. Just a random rule they have which makes no sense. So annoying.

Great place to go shopping for home furnishings, vintage jewelry, used tapes, cd’s, dvd’s. I’ve sold things here as well; they suggest a price and the owner can agree to the price; the seller makes a certain percentage of the price which is reduced after a period of time. Or if you don’t agree, then take it home. I sold various objects I had never used, things received as gifts that I didn’t particularly want, as well as things that I’d grown tired of or all the country décor things I’d bought years ago but wasn’t using anymore. Apparently, someone bought them cuz I made about $ 120 for stuff that had been gathering dust in the basement. Back to things I’ve bought here: a great leather swivel office chair for $ 99.00, lots of antique bottles, some vintage costume jewelry, old books, etched glass things… lots of stuff. I’ve been to the other location in Merrimack or Bedford NH; it’s pretty much the same but is all on one level so it seems larger. From there I bought a set of 3 mahogany nesting tables for $ 75. Whenever buying anything from a consignment store, check the item to be sure it is in the condition you are expecting. I think these places are great ways to furnish first apartments and such. Affordable stuff.
