For recreational classes, both the classes themselves & the billing runs smoothly. For the practices of the kids who are invited to compete, the coaching is good but the billing is a nightmare. First the coaching — it can get crowded when the levels are lumped together with lots of standing around time but for the most part they’re very active. I’ve never had any qualms about the coach — strict & firm, not the kids«best friend,» & I definitely feel comfortable leaving my child in the gym. The gym & lobby: they recently installed security cameras in the lobby & locker room which is nice. The lobby can get crowded very quickly when it’s pick-up/drop-off time or if there is a recreational class going on too. Home meets are tricky because the space is so small, it’s really overwhelming at times. There’s been some water damage though & there is mold in the front bathroom & the last time I was in there it smelled like sewage. But everything seems good in the gym itself. The billing: Nightmare. First there’s two different payees, Gymnastics Village(for profit) & Gymnastics Village(Men’s or Women’s) Team(non-profit). There are more fees than you can shake a stick at. Monthly bill for your child to practice, a monthly assessment fee, an annual fee for USA Gymnastics, a fee per season(team dues), fees for each meet, & then volunteering AND fundraising on top of that — mandatory. Whoever does their books is only there once/month, at most, & if you have a question about a bill they will take weeks to reply to you. If they send you an email about a bill & you reply back, you will never receive a response. And once their bookkeeper does the books, if they find you’re late, you have less than one day to get the account paid, even if you’ve been trying to find out how much you owe for weeks. Front desk: they never have a clue about billing or if a specific coach will be in that day or not. There’s definitely a major lack of communication & it’s quite frustrating. We continue to come here, however, because the coaching is great & we feel comfortable here.
